I'd love a fender tube amp for gigging. I have a hybrid Vox amp for nice dirty tones, but having a switch between it and a fender with my effects chain running through it would be nice.
Hello, i wanted to ask some questnion(s).
I have a Dean Vendetta v2 guitar (yeah i know it's a budget guitar but oh well) that i bought in used state.
I think the neck shape is too flat/curved upwards, because on lower strings height they do buss a fuckin' lot i don't think the frets are damaged, because i've shown them to my friends and he says they are in a good condition.
Has anyone had a guitar like that before? I wonder what can i use to adjust the truss rod, because it has a shitty access (on the headstock, but it's deeper inside), i need a curved key or something but before that i need to know the right size.
Can you take some pictures of it?
recently my ltd has gotten unwanted gain (i say gain because its only when i strum, but maybe its noise i dunno) on clean channels. both on my amp and pod hd. tried changing the battery (emg pickups) and i've used different cables. help

Always try with the obvious fix first, have you rolled off the volume or tone?
Get the electronics checked out first. Something could be putting out more energy than it's supposed to be. Either the pickup itself or the wiring. The pots could also be a culprit (I don't know too much about this, don't hurt me)

yeah it feels like i've checked all those simple things. i don't know anything about guitar electrics so i'll prob just turn it in for repair then.

It's allright, I've been to some store and i got my shit sorted, the only thing is they gave me a key that is too long (the bended part) and won't go in. Pics coming [sp]beware of dirty guitar, I've bought it in used state and it seems the previous owner wasn't into it and couldn't set it up, bridge not flat with body and off pivot screws...[/sp]
New pickups arrived today. Tried to replace them myself but I'm out of practice with soldering. I got the old ones out and just need to solder the wires for the new ones.
Also anyone know a good way to unscrew a stripped bolt from one of the locks at the bridge? I can't replace my high E and it broke and smacked my arm because the bolt is stripped or something.
long nose pliers should do it, just grab it around and turn like a screw driver if it fails then goat an angle
hm I think I managed to make a deal with my mom. I suggested if I got 3 12's at my exams, she'll buy me an Overdrive pedal. 12 is the highest grade you can get, I feel pretty confident. I don't have any pedals so this will be really fun.
dammit mom negotiating terms with me. I need 4 12's or A's if that's what you call them.
4 12's and she buys you a 4x12
lol. i'll tell her that.

anyone got a good blues song I could learn? I need to practice with using all my fingers, and bends would be good to practice too. I'm pretty good for a newbie, but being fast and precise is tough on me. I like John Mayer.

Thanks, ill give a listen tomorrow and give it a shot.
Anyone care to tell me the strumming pattern doing the "half" chords in this?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IY7YPXjc-JU
for example, you play DD DUD D during G D Am but then C and D are only played for 2 beats instead of 4, and the pattern changes. Can someone listen to it and tell me what he plays? Because he doesn't explain it.
I managed to replace the pickups on my guitar semi-successfully. Out of the three settings on my selector switch two of them work. The third doesn't but I don't want to go back in there to find the problem.
i've been gone from the forum for a while, my guitar has been set up perfectly!
I'm so freaking happy with it now. New frets, new wiring and a tone control rewire

Good to see you back, has it fixed that issue you were having?
Yes! He told me that when I brought the guitar to him, it was pretty much a fretless instrument. Now it's so easy to bend strings, form chords, less pressure required from my hand, as well as a better sound.
Someone. pls.

What is the strumming pattern down the chords that are played in 2 "beats" instead of 4?
It goes DD DUD D at the 4 "beat" chords and then on the 2 "beat" ones I have no idea what to play. Is it just DD and then DUD D on the next chord?

What model is your strat?
Weezer knows how to get me pumped up for an album. I wouldn't mind seeing a nirvana covers from them either.

oh god i love weezer

someone please figure out the variation in the strumming pattern in the video i posted above... it's driving me nuts.
Was that a Verellen Meatsmoke?
What model is your strat?
tokai strat. the wood and guitar is great, the electronics were not. now it's superb :)
wow I'm clearly improving actually. Decided to try and learn Knee Socks again, I think I can actually learn this with effort. It's fun to play, so many slides.
Apparently there are seven string Super Distortions now and seven string covers available from DMZ.
ow I've probably played for 2 hours now and all those slides really hurt on my fingers now. Maybe I'll finally get my calluses.
Use this information wisely

I love jazz but I hate most jazz guitar solos
it just makes me cringe

definitely some good learning in that video though and it's already confirmed a few things I had worked out on my own
