Well it was bound to happen to my new guitar at some point... Gotta be honest this is becoming a pain in the ass because it is not easy to clean up. [img_thumb]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v78/modderman2/20140609_002007.jpg[/img_thumb]
I feel ya dude, sometimes with my pic I'll strum so hard that I bleed on the guitar. I've since refined my style for that not to happen often. It's the top behind my fingernail that starts to bleed.
I hope that includes new pickup rings
It does. [t]http://i.imgur.com/oHVO6Aa.jpg[/t]
especially since his fingers just suddenly crack open and bleed around his nails???? from barely putting any stress on his fingers? unless he applies superhuman force to his pick
It is usually when I am strumming hard because I grip the pick tighter and that is usually when it cracks. It doesn't bleed a lot but I usually don't notice for a while until my strings start to feel wet so it looks like I am gushing blood but that really isn't the case. I imagine the splatter you see is from the blood hitting the strings and then getting flung off.
So I've been building a bass since around March, but just haven't had the time for it. Just got to the varnishing. What do y'all think?
Is that a slight red burst? Very pretty.
Is that a slight red burst? Very pretty.
Yep. And would you believe me if I said that did both this and the explorer with Office Depot stamp ink mixed with water?
i think you have mentioned that before stamp ink sounds rad
i think you have mentioned that before stamp ink sounds rad
It is. It's just a pain to only have 3 colors to chose from if you go to Office Depot.
Yep. And would you believe me if I said that did both this and the explorer with Office Depot stamp ink mixed with water?
Pic of Explorer? I love explorers.
Pic of Explorer? I love explorers.
I had it earlier in the thread, but here.
after playing guitar and mostly learning songs from tabs for 7 years I can almost figure out simple riffs by ear [editline]10th June 2014[/editline] or at least play what I think I hear
I've been playing for about 3 years and I have been able to identify notes by ear for about one year. It's a fantastic feeling, it must be something similar to becoming fluent in a foreign language. It's very rewarding.
After playing for 6 months I can tune by ear (using other strings for help)
playing slap bass in a hot bandroom with your band at 37c degrees is not a good idea. There was water from my sweat running down the whole bass into the bridge which looked insane. Playing a 45minute setlist at 37c degrees is not healthy either :v:
playing slap bass in a hot bandroom with your band at 37c degrees is not a good idea. There was water from my sweat running down the whole bass into the bridge which looked insane.
At least it gives your bandmates a free shower.
Played a mexi roadworn strat yesterday, fuuuuuuck it was so comfortable. The sound wasn't anything special, but fuck me, it felt so good. I'll most definetely be getting a stratocaster. atm I'm Looking to buy a Danocaster in August, hopefully he'll ship to Europe.
I've been playing guitar for approx 4 years now and I've only been able to identify notes of songs as of late, and its not even the guitar/bass parts its just only the vocals. Lately I feel like im stuck in a rut of not improving, everytime I pick my guitar I just do some improv and thats it. Here's some butchered Mr.Taxi (apologies for the k/j-pop)
take two experienced guitarists with acoustic guitars tuned both to dadgad and have them improvise stuff on the fly together. You now have created the sound of the heavens. With those words, I am out today to play a spontaneous acoustic session infront of many people in the city :v: no setlist, no songs, just improv
Trying to add my own touch to Sultans of Swing, it's not that different but the licks got a few more notes in them. Also first recording with the Spider IV back.
I'm digging getting back into guitar but good lord Imma need to sell myself on the corner to find something a little better than what I got atm (yamaha C54M classical) I'm trying to work out a deal for this http://carbondale.craigslist.org/msg/4508187551.html (by deal I mean throwing electronic shit at him till something sticks)
[IMG_THUMB]http://i.imgur.com/0RjMnvz.jpg[/IMG_THUMB] these SGs are so good looking, i really want to buy one hopefully by christmas
don't care for that tailpiece much but it still looks great
I really like that SG. Also, I broke my high e string just before. :(
I also found an affordable good acoustic baritone guitar  alvarez abt60, I want that guitar. It haves a 27.7 scale like my prs baritone and comes in tuned in standard B and jumbo size, tone of the heavens. I mean who doesn't like this sound? Without electronics its just 350€ and with about 440€
yay I got a 12 in english. that's 1 point out of 4 points needed for my mom and dad to buy me an acoustic. was looking at the Fender CD-60, in mahogany, without electronics. dont really need electronics. or should I get one with electronics? I don't really know. It would be my first acoustic.

I have the same fender with electronics and it's rich sounding, way more expensive than the price and the inbuilt tuner is a godsend  [editline]12th June 2014[/editline] Also the pickup sounds great, here have a song of mine where I use the fender electronics with old ass strings:
The Mahogony also looks better on that. Bear in mind, I don't have a lot of experience, even on electric guitar. I can almost play Killing in the Name, I can play the riffs fine but the strumming on the chords is where I struggle a bit, also the solo is a no-go. I have not play any acoustic songs, would love to do some fingerplaying though. Heres the one with electronics, at 100 bucks more [editline]12th June 2014[/editline] 150 bucks [editline]12th June 2014[/editline] 150 bucks more. dammit. total price is 326 dollars
The mahogany looks way better in person.. maybe I had luck? Mine looks absolutely gorgeous and way darker than the pictures you shown here. But yea, getting the one with electronics is a good idea because you will thank yourself later when you get better at it that you choosen that one. Especially the inbuilt tuner is great for quick tuning while outdoors and such.
yeah I'll try and get my parents to get that, it's alittle pricey so maybe I'll have to fund some money for it myself. I'll bring it when I take 10th class, I'll be living at the school. It's basicly the danish version of college I guess, for younger people. can't really bring an electric. [editline]12th June 2014[/editline] 10th grade* and thanks for the tips <3
Why is my neck pup louder than my bridge pup? Neck is stock epi shit, supposedly around 8.5k DCR while my Duncan SH-5 is 14.4k. Not to mention my bridge pup is MUCH closer to the strings.
