Pots? Extra resistance in the wires? DCR isn't quite a measure of volume out put

Could it be that my bridge pup lead is wrapped around the pot post thing and not soldered?
Reason being that the local guitar shop employs retards that solder your pickups to the wrong shit (bridge and middle position had both pickups on) and I don't have a soldering iron, so i ghetto rigged it.
How come that I want an 8 string guitar since over an year and I have the money for it but can't decide. Yet I see that abt60 baritone acoustic and I am ready to buy it in an instant.
Acoustic guitar love is pure and crazy.

It really is though. I already have guitars I don't play nearly as often as I should, and I'm over here browsing the internet for good deals on hollow body solid arch top electrics. It's a sickness man.
I haven't touched my Sterling since I bought my Telecaster. And that thing's like 2 months old tops.

I really should touch it
TOUCH IT REAL GOOD RIGHT IN THE
WANG STICK.
What model is it?
If I'm getting somewhat weak overdrive and distortion, and more background noise than usual, is that a sign that my tube is old? I'm using a Vox VT40+, and I haven't replaced the tube since I got it (four years ago), so I bought another one anyways, just wondering if it would fix those issues or if it's another problem.

are you using active pickups?
I put new strings on my guitar (acoustic classical) and it keeps going out of tune after a few seconds. (normal tention strings)
What do?
Bought myself the SGJ 2014 recently and I love it.

Damn you Evil_Knevil. I have been eyeing that online, I cannot afford it nor am I worthy enough to play it. Just thought it looked reasonable for when I start getting good at guitar. Speaking of which, this will probably be the first song I will learn when I get an acoustic:

Looks easy enough. One thing though, the strumming is just constant right? I know it's loose, so just up down up down constantly right? And then theres that accent of course, where you downstrum hard. And some of those where you put emphasis on the G string in that song. Looks interesting and managable to play for me, also I lovs John Mayer.
i need a capo

I have this, it's good.

I'm using passive pickups. (or whichever one doesn't use batteries) If it's not the amp then that just means something's up with the wiring. My Tone knob has been wonky lately, so it's possible that could be the cause. I've been meaning to replace it.

Classical guitars do that. The strings are made of nylon and so they must stretch more than steel strings. Eventually it will finally stretch all the way out and stay in tune.

it sounds like it's the grounding wire that's connected to your input jack

Sounds like you're right. I have the same problem playing Rocksmith.
Oh, it feels good succeeding at playing your first riffs.
Can you dudes recommend some pedals I should look into? I have no pedals at the moment and interested in any general pedals that will help achieving new tones as well as effects such as delay.
I personally like these
Big muff - fuzz
TC electronic - digital delay
rat - distortion
honey bee - overdrive
Cheers, will check them out
rat - distortion
my father who's been in the music business for over 30 years said some time ago that back in the day the Rat was the real shit
but how does it sound? would it be good for very high gain stuff?
everybody loves rat, korn used that pedal in woodstock as far as I know and on records. I never heard a single bad thing about that pedal :v:
i heard protone pedals are p good, really pricey (the dead horse is 200 bucks), but they're really good for metal and whatnot. misha mansoor (periphery's guitarist) uses a custom made dead horse overdrive.
misha's great and I love periphery but his tone is so uncool
his protone pedal is just the same overdrive pedal they have but with extended range for the knobs. His tone even sounds better without it... it's all the post fx in the mix and mastering that makes it fat.
I can't listen to periphery :v: it's annoying.
MXR Phase 90 is neat I'm going to buy one when I finally get around to building a board.
I have a few behringer pedals which aren't fantastic but they work, I have a flanger pedal and a fuzz pedal. Fuzz pedals give nice tones.
Wow.......................... a store here in Denmark was having a massive sale of their last current stock. 175 dollar banjo for 4 dollars. That popular orange-red distortion pedal for 4 dollars. That cry baby cry wah-wah pedal that is normally 150 bucks, for 20 bucks. They only had 1 of each though, so you had to be first there to arrive.

Music stores do this all the time. Last time I tried to get a deal the line was around the block, people arrived midday the day before and stayed there all night and all day until the store opened.
announce almost free shit and people come in like flys, especially musicians since they are all broke as fuck :v:
