[QUOTE=Darkslicer;45130153]announce almost free shit and people come in like flys, especially musicians since they are all broke as fuck :v:[/QUOTE]
announce almost free expensive shit for not even 1/10th of the original price, anyone will come flying.

what makes it even worse is that i wanted the distortion pedal already, just didnt have the money. then bam it's there for pocket change.
I feel like an hipster, I always aim for instruments that aren't "normal" and I always want to do new things (using bass as guitars for example) this shit costs to much money but I learn so much from it and it brings me further and keeps me motivated.
With that being said I want that 27.7 scale jumbo baritone acoustic and tune it down to A or G# in open modal DADGAD alike or minor open tuning.
Also as soon as microtonal guitars are affordable im the first one to get one :v:
you can't use a bass guitar as a guitar because there is no set way to play either of them

I ment in an recording producing type of way, instead of 2 guitar tracks I used 2 bass tracks and the third bass in the middle for one of my albums for example.

I usually used around 5 bass guitar tracks when I was still recording my own original stuff for school, who needs chords when you can have 5 bass guitars tbh.

Why don't you post it? I want to hear man.
I wish I could get in a band with people who could teach me stuff. I just want to play anything where I can learn. learning progress is slowing down again, feel like I'm getting no where.
imagine if there were 5 les claypools playing at once
[QUOTE=DesumThePanda;45146671]imagine if there were 5 les claypools playing at once[/QUOTE]
Colonel Claypool's Pool of Lessy Clays.
Now imagine five Billy Sheehans.
A load of shredding and tapping, one playing a drill, and another just grooving.

I dont know but I think this is currently the closest you get to that. There is actually a part where 7 bass guitars play at once later when the solo plays. Layering layering and ofcourse slapping all da bass!
one of my tracks called white phosphorus:

by the way there are no guitars, it's all bass.

I only have this that I recorded ages ago, it was all written and recorded in 45 minutes so the quality of the recording is a bit meh. I didn't have to a chance to upload the rest because I left the school I recorded at.
How do you guys even compose music? I can't really learn anything at the moment, I have no idea how to progress. Maybe if I make something for myself I'll stay motivated.
Usually I just pick a couple of chords (or 1 chord) as basis and play what feels right over that during recording, but that's only after I have drums or whatever I have as rhythm instrument down.
Writing music on paper is nothing for me, I'd rather just go with whatever my hands feel like playing in the studio.
I don't know many chords though. Sure I can just do some random strumming and play all chords I know that I think sound nice together, but that's bad. Sometime I just get amazing lyrics and riffs inside my head, lyrics I make up and slightly modified riffs I have heard in songs, and then I just want to make a song. But I can't.
I record by playing rhytms out of my head to a metronom and later I arrange all that in my DAW. It really helps the creativity to not be set on anything beforehand and you can play around with your stuff like samples aswell, its amazing.
I've been putting up some more videos on my youtube channel and realised I've been playing the same bass almost exclusively for near enough 7 years now.
My Musicman has just been the most reliable musical item I have ever owned. At least 2 gig a month for the past 5 years, almost certainly more.
Would recommend, I want another one :v:

I usually play the musician's role first and write the whole song in guitar pro so I have a good base to work from and then I switch to the producer's role and change/rework things as I record
[editline]18th June 2014[/editline]
as far as composing goes though, most riffs just come from noodling around
[editline]18th June 2014[/editline]
but my compositions amount to about 3 riffs and a solo
I really wish I could just sit around and do stuff with you guys, I could learn a ton of shit that way. Just oberserving and playing some simple stuff I know

This is how I do it and it's pretty much the way to go. Tabb the guitar parts out in GP, then add drums to get a feel of how I want the song to actually sound if played with other members. Also an opportunity to add other instruments like piano. Review the content and make changes where needed then track the drums in garageband and I'm ready to record.
drums in guitar pro is like pulling teeth though so I usually do that in cubase
[editline]18th June 2014[/editline]
also I discovered a neat little trick
the natural harmonics on the 5th 7th 9th etc frets can be bent if you carefully fret that note after you've plucked the harmonic
I couldn't resist so here's an long album teaser for my upcoming album  please check it out fellow guitar gods!

All recorded with my pod hd, prs baritone, some mic etc.
I love it please marry me.
Okay, maybe not that. Good stuff though, man!
i usually just take a chord or melody and take off from there with my song writing.
here's your weekly paul gilbert video

sound quality is shitty but you can still hear every note he plays and the camera is on the guitar the entire time
I like the older variant of the Guild S-100 alot.

Power chords and barre chords. You only need to know the common chords (A, Bm, C, D, E, Em, F, G), putting a chord together is easy with a bit of musical theory as well.
When I first started writing music I tuned my guitar to drop d and used a lot power chords and palm mutes.
I can't barre chord very well, I don't understand it properly. Do you lay your finger down ALL strings really hard?

Really liking this

Basically, you don't have to do it REALLY hard, just so that it sounds right.
