Is it worth getting some cheap as fuck bass to practice on and then work my way up or get something higher up and keep that?
I want to order this alvarez acoustic baritone but in whole germany only one is in stock in some shop far away and it might even be a left handed one if the confusing description on amazon is right. I guess I am going to call them and ask them if they can check it before they send it out.
[editline]23rd June 2014[/editline]
If they ship me a horrible intonated 2 meter string height from fretboard C shape neck bended guitar then I am going all hitler on them.
it's funny cause you're german.
on a serious note, I don't know if I'm actually gonna need electronics in the acoustic I'm gonna buy. Money is short atm, don't really need it I think.

get a bass that's a tiny bit more expensive than the cheapest Squier basses and you're set
like some of the vintage modified Squiers or something like that
I just ordered the baritone, expect beautiful content from me the next few weeks <3
449€ paid.
do any of you guys have tips for singing? I simply think I don't have the voice for it, but I still enjoy it
do what kurt cobain did and just sort of make noise with your mouth
apparently people liked that sort of thing

Yeah but they also liked greasy hair and flannel shirts.
PVC Tube full of Methylated spirit... Glue an end cap on one end and use electrical tape and an end cap on the other to seal it. Glue a hook into this lid to hang the strings from. Soak overnight... Strings that sound new again.
I alternated and gigged two sets of strings for 2 years while I was a student and consequently poor.
I now buy these strings in bulk:

Frankly they sound every bit as good as rotosounds and last longer than the Ernie Balls.
figured since the only guitar in my posession is a classical acoustic I'd fuck around with a few little spanish/flamenco style riffs one thing is for sure they're fun as hell to play
E and Am makes me feel like a mariachi guitarist

He did have a good voice for what he did, I sound like I have a potato down my throat and then every now and then I have a voice crack.
stop dissing kurt :(

All I said was he had greasy hair and wore flannel shirts, that's hardly a diss!
I can diss him though if you'd like.

His photo has reminded me that it is time to lay down the big macs and lose some weight again haha.
For what it's worth, Cobain threw some of the best live performances in the 90's. Nirvana will always have a place in my heart. You just have to start digging deep into their discography.
Another rant story from my band.
Once my rapper/vocalist told me not to play along the drums with my slap bass rhytm wise because it takes away from the rhythm. He said that his rapping will make the rhytm... and so there I was standing with a single short SLAP at the end of the rhytm that sounded completely stupid. And then I showed him how awesome it sounds with slapping along the drum riff and bass drum, everybody in the band starts nodding to the groove and he said "ehhh but it takes away from my rap rhythm".
OK TO HIGH LEAGUE up in this shit so I just kept slapping one note at the end of the rhythm. He smokes to much weed.
He said that his rapping will make the rhytm...
Would it be rude if I called him a fuckwit?
Would it be rude if I called him a fuckwit?
He owes me 200€ in band rent money.
Call him a fuckwit.
foo fighters is all the good parts of nirvana
Not a big fan of Foo Fighters, I like them but I don't listen to them nearly as much as I listen to Nirvana. I like that Kurt Cobains songs have a lot of meaning behind them, his life on an album pretty much. Some of them are weird though so yeah
Going back to Rocksmith, of all the things I think I've spent the most time on it is the tone designer just fucking around with every single pedal and knob I can to see what happens. It's more versatile than I'd imagined.
It's been 2 years since I have the pod hd bean and I still do that, there is just so crazy many things you can do.
I even managed to make my bass sound like an acoustic guitar on a song, it fooled quite a few people.
rapper/vocalist
Fucking sever.

I use about six plugins in my signal chain for guitar stuff, so I'm pretty much fiddling with crap constantly and can never settle on a single sound I like.
Downside of that is you sometimes get a situation where you forget to turn stuff on/off and then up with like a cabinet being fed by another cabinet, which is the weediest and most horrible sound.

cry
Anyways, I had an idea which turns out to have been done already. Whatever, I'm going to do it to the amp I'm getting either way. It's p. neat.

Aside from Do I Wanna Know and Ace of Spades, what else are some simple bass lines I can learn?

I don't normally visit this section, so forgive me for being a showoffy, uninformed asshat.
But my brother just recently got that guitar, and I kinda wanted to show off

Anything by The Ramones.
Hell yeah I just got accepted into the Audio Engineering program at the college here. I won't forget you all when I am at the top. *sarcasm*
Gonna be a good opportunity for me, gonna be able to intern at some of the studios here as well as some job opportunities at some local venues.
