If you have no debt and no expenses a guitar doesn't look as expensive.
Pretty much any instrument is expensive. It IS a lot of money. Also not A(!) guitar. Three of them. I'm not saying I see anything wrong in him using his money on what he loves, but it's still a VERY large sum of money.
I dont feel bad when buying a guitar because I know it brings me forward and I will have it forever normally and I can progress with it

I sit back for a moment and look at my financial situation and determine what this purchase will do to it. If you are good at knowing when to spend money and living on a strict budget you are very often left with disposable income. On the other hand if you want something bad enough then you work hard for it, I can assure you I am not rich in any way. I look at guitars as a small investment, barely ever do I go out and buy a $900 guitar like I did with my strat. That was my graduation present to myself, this guitar was $350 plus tax and I thought long and hard about how spending that $350 would affect my financial situation and at the end of the day I have enough money to make ends meet comfortably. This is not a credit purchase, this is money out of my pocket.
theres this thing called guitars can be fucking expensive as fuck [editline]4th July 2014[/editline] can = are
all a matter of perspective when that $400 guitar you want is let's say, 200% of your weekly income, then yeah that guitar looks pretty expensive however when that same $400 dollars is closer to 25% of your weekly income, it starts to look much better I feel like I shouldn't have to say this

Yes if you're rich you can go and buy a ton of guitars, that wasn't my point with it. It's not like I was saying it was a bad thing that he went out and bought something he cared for, but it still is a lot of money for regular people (us) [editline]4th July 2014[/editline] also don't take what I said literally because I don't think you'll ever hear Bill Gates talk about Ferraris anyway

Me.
Regular people can have nice things too, case in point... Me.
You are completely misunderstanding me, I was never saying it was a bad thing. I was just stating that guitars are expensive.

So my band is giving out an album next week (first time for me, I'm so bloody excited). I thought you guys might be interested in the tone that an Epiphone SG 61 Reissue and Ibanez Apex2 7 string gives you through an Orange TH30 and Fender Excelsior with two blended mics. I have no idea what our sound engineer did, but he made it sound awesome
Anyone got any idea what model this is? I shot off a message to the advertiser but I just thought I'd ask here in case they don't know/don't get back to me. [editline]4th July 2014[/editline] Fairly sure it's a GSR 190, which retails in some beginner pack for fuckloads more.
My educated guess would be the GSR190. Because they are often sold with amplifiers as starter packs and due to the pickup configuration.
It's a GSR190. Source: I own one and it's identical to the picture.
Is it worth the £75? I'm only about half an hour away by car so getting it's no big deal.
My bass teacher congratulated me on getting such a good bass for the price. Considering how the man's been teaching guitar and bass for 27 years, I like to think it holds some value.

just finished adjusting the string height on my old Squier strat. Polished the surface, wiped the dust and crud off the strings, took off a silly patch of velcro that I used to stick a killswitch on back when I listened to Rage Against the Machine in high school, and dug out my vibrato bar out of a box of old crap and put it back on. Looks pretty nice now. I put a new pickguard and a humbucker in it back in the day, I'm trying to decide if I want to put the original one on there and buy some new single coils to put in it.
Playing a guitar with scalloped frets has ruined otber guitars for me. I go to play it and my fingers are just turned off by the presence of wood there.
wtf I've played electric for some time now, play acoustic for two days and I have calluses [editline]6th July 2014[/editline] only on my pointy finger tho, but it's there
Dexter holland the singer in The Offspring and Deryck Whibley from Sum41
they did not age well at all, how does deryck look like that at 34 tho
How can you tell if you have them or not?
well I'm getting signs of them
So, finally I have started learning guitar with passion. Started with Stagg Acoustic. Returning back to home tomorrow. Will be using Classic Vibe 50 Strat then. What do you guys suggest should I be practicing ? Any recommendations from online resources.
I got £270ish free and I'm looking for a new electric, prefrebly with a Floyd rose style trem, anyone got any recommendation?
Anyone ever played a gretsch?
