Yes. I like gretsch guitars.
Anyone ever played a gretsch?
I love them, they have a particular sound that seems very classic to me. Warm but at the same time very glassy, owning one is on my list of wants.

Alex Turner uses one for R U Mine, and I read that the gretsch he uses has lower sounding strings, as in most gretch guitars use that

Now when you get into the Fender mustangs which have a 24" scale length you start to feel a difference. I wouldn't say the sound from that is lower but guitars with that scale length have a real spanky sound due to the loose string tension at E 440. The real difference is in the pickups they use on a lot of gretsch guitars which are like those filtertron style pickups. They have a certain warmth to them but they still have a crap ton of clarity. Almost as if you put a lipstick pickup in a humbucker.
they did not age well at all, how does deryck look like that at 34 tho
Dexter is almost 50 and just seem to age badly. Deryck on the other hand, was an alcoholic that drank 1 bottle of booze a day. This is a picture showing Deryck Whibley in 2011 and 2013.
just goes to show how playing fucking terrible music really takes a toll on you
Or alcohol, alcohol does that too. Also I got in touch with the dude selling the Ibanez, he still has it and I should be picking it up on Friday.

So I just ordered 15-80 phosphor bronze strings for my acoustic baritone, I need to go deeper and thicker :v: Will shoot a music video soon with it
I find these kind of videos pretty amusing :v:
Still can't play the damn B chord... I just can't get the barre right. What the fuck am I doing wrong?
I hate when I hear some imperfection in my monitors and think it's my guitar reflexively. Just adjusted my neck a bit thinking some buzz was making my third fret boomy. Forgot I've had it detuned, and that frequency band just has some shitty harmonics on my Mackies.
Still can't play the damn B chord... I just can't get the barre right. What the fuck am I doing wrong?
Here's a picture of how I do it. I rotate my index a finger, because the side of my finger is flatter and I don't have to press down as hard. [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/dUIvC8M.jpg[/img_thumb] Apparently when a song calls for bending the 24th fret up two steps you shouldn't go to the 21st fret (Highest fret on my guitar) and bend it as hard as you can hoping you'll get close enough to the right note. Apparently this snaps the string eventually.

okay fuck i ended up buying 2 guitars. Ibanez GRG7221 [t]http://www.coda-music.com/images/grg7221-bkn.jpg[/t] and a Kramer Assault 220 [t]http://www.cranesmusicstore.com/images/large/37168.jpg[/t] I can't control myself ;w;
do plain acoustic guitar strings have more tension that wound ones? For example a 20 plain string and a wound 20 string are different in tension? A calculator showed me that the 20 wound string actually is more the tension of a 17 or 18 plain string, which is weird to me.
Anyone got links to some cheap stands that can fit at least 4? One of them being acoustic.

also i dunno ibanez retail prices that well but I think this is a deal for anyone who wants a sevenstring in the UK http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ibanez-RG-7321-7-string-guitar-in-Black-/221486941776?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item3391a68650
Quick tip of the day, if the pickguard, truss rod cover, and really any other plastic part on your guitar is getting mildly scratched up some Meguiar's PlastX polish will remove most of the scratches and make the part look brand new. You can even use it on poly finishes in a pinch but I wouldn't go near a nitro finish with it.

HOLY FUCK I BOUGHT A BOSS DS-1 DISTORTION PEDAL. i love it. it is fucking amazing. i feel like a rockstar [editline]8th July 2014[/editline] oh man i can play icky thump somewhat nicely jesus not playing with distortion feels tame now
man I need a fucking sound engineer with me when I want to record something, it always sounds like shit. The levels for each instrument aren't right and I don't know how to get it right.
Any easy Jack White/The White Stripes songs? Been playing Icky Thump pretty well for some time now, still got some general learning to do but I'm happy enough about my playing to want to play for other people.
