I never understood why people complain about the weight of the guitar. It's on a strap, on your shoulder, which is a great place to rest heavy things, considering. I understand if you've got a physical problem or something.

depends on the strap and depends on the set length
my silverburst destroyer weighs in at about 11 pounds and it starts to get annoying after about 45 minutes

I've worked on a 13lb acrylic guitar before, I stood up and played it for about 20 minutes and it started to make my shoulder ache. I have heard those Dan Armstrong plexiglass basses are heavy as hell.
Your strap also matters a bit. A shit strap is just going to feel horrible quicker.

I prefer having a 2.5" wide leather strap, what sucks is I don't have any right now...
I have an ernie ball strap, it feels great and I can hang my guitar around my ankles.

Also my guitar is really nice to hold. I get some cramps in my fretting hand some times but thats only because I broke it a long time ago and it never healed right.

Get yourself some peanut butter and place some on the middle of a sheet of paper and then wait it out, keep noise down to a minimum and you will hear his footsteps on the paper. Have a big plastic bowl near by and when he goes to eat the peanut butter slam in on top of him and trap him. After that you are free to do what you want.

it's a really small one, it's silent as fuck. it keeps sneaking out to the corner of my rom and just sits there with a cheeky smile, motherfucker. ill try some peanutbutter though, and just look. i got a bucket ready, also a towel. it cant lift the towel, too heavy. thanks. i just dont want it fucking up my shit. where do you guys place your pedals? just on the floor? or are there any cheap things for having pedals?

I keep mine on the floor, you can get a cheap small pedal board but it really isn't needed unless you are playing live and your pedals keep moving.

You can probably get some kind of pedal board and keep that on a shelf somewhere if you can.
oh god i looked under my bed it's not there anymore, i iddnt have peanutbutter stuff so i used some chocolate stuff with nuts in it, not working so far. i dont know where it is. it's creepy. i need to get all the furniture out and find this fucker. then vacuum my entire room. room is too messy. also how do you fold cables correctly? mine is all weird now, because i've folded it wrong. you know, fold it into a circle thing.

update 4: my cats killed the mouse. they played with the dead mouse for 10 minutes under the bed. i used a vacuum cleaner to scare them out. they left the mouse on my carpet. i threw the mouse out.
this took 4 hours and now i can finally put my guitar stuff back. im tired.

The EXP's that I have on my baritone keep their tone very well and I dont notice the coating. The string noise is a little bit higher (when you slide across the strings) but that's actually just a thing of preference, also helps with learning to play more clean.
What would be best for just a generic acoustic?
I love d'addario strings. I've had the same set of pro artes on my classical guitar for almost a year now and I bought a 3 pack. That's like easily 4 or maybe 5 years worth of strings for like 20 dollars.
classical guitar is a bit different from steel string guitars though, with nylon strings they kinda have to be on there for a long time before the even settle and they seem to get better over time, but you'll definitely have to get coated steel strings to get any kind of life out of them.
