Shame it's so simple on bass.

Thanks. This looks like a good way to learn.
Well I have wanted one of these since I was 16 so I finally gave in and bought one.

Maybe it was that new weezer song that inspired me to finally get a lightning bolt guitar strap or maybe it was the Ace Frehley KISS Farewell Tour picks I got...

Today was a good day.
I hope having a lightning bolt strap doesn't imply a person likes Weezer, because I've got one on my metal machine and I abhor that band. Go taint something else, like... checkerboard patterns.

I am pretty sure Ace Frehley made that strap popular and Rivers Cuomo is a huge Ace Frehley fan so he uses one. I think it depends on your knowledge of the history of that design.
I use a pretty cool blue lightning strap on my black Dean ML because of Dimebag.
I use Dimarzio cliplocks because that's what my dad put on the guitars, and they work.
I really like the material of cliplock straps
reminds me of a seatbelt
Bought a frame for my picks before I end up losing one...

Yeah the material they make them out of feels bulletproof, although I used to have one and one of the plastic clips snapped some how. I don't do anything crazy with my guitars but I might have just had bad luck and gotten a defective strap.
You guys are lucky with your hands then I guess. I can't even stretch from 2 to 6, barely 2 to 5.
Do you use your pinky?
I don't wrap my strings on my floyd rose like this because I am lazy, I just love the look of the colored ball ends. It would be a shame to cut them off...

Yeah, I use my pinky thats the worst part :(
got new machine heads for my strat and the holes in the headstock are ever so slightly too small to fit them so i am widening them with some sandpaper wrapped around a screwdriver
Do any of you have a guess for what I could expect to get trying to resell a Squier Vintage Modified Jazz? I think I got it for about $300, so I'm expecting like $50-$100.
It's not going anywhere just yet, but I'm finally at the point where I can't stomach not having a five string and a store around here carries Corts finally, so I'll probably jettison within the year.

You could probably shoot higher than a hundred, 150, 200 if you're lucky.
Also you do realize Squier makes 5 string basses right? So your store, if thats where you got the original bass, could have ordered it.

I bought it on a whim years ago, well before I knew I enjoyed the instrument at all (let alone in extended range varieties).

Planet Waves bros.
I sold my Digitech Whammy pedal that I had for four years, it was sad to see it go but it had to be done.

Assumed that you were getting a five string because your store was carrying Corts now. Was pointing out that others make five strings even if they store doesn't carry those specific ones.

And on another note I've probably asked this before but does anyone know any good solos to learn? Something that will make me stretch my fingers, go up and down the fretboard, etc.

Shock Me by Ace Frehley, that is the first solo that pushed me a little bit.
Holy Wars... The Punishment Due, totally. The arpeggios in that are easy, but still worthwhile.
everything in Wake Up Dead
learned this song the other day

Oh, nah, I just like how some Delano pickups sound, and Cort Aronas have ones I like.
I'm kinda bummed, the store carrying them turned out to be a shitheap. Lot of badly-stacked and old or damaged amps and cabinets strewn about haphazardly, with very little variety in most of the guitars and basses besides a metric shitload of strats. Rude and useless staff too. At least I got to play a G&L Tribute M-2500 and a regular G&L L-2000, and those seem pretty interesting. Just don't think anything I order will be coming from that place.
Hey guys, I want to buy a cheap amp to go with my Epiphone Les Paul Junior which I got with Rocksmith.
I've read good things about the Vox VT20+. Anyone have any experience with this amp? I can't really afford anything more than what that Vox costs.
