I remember the first time I played a les paul before I knew about scale length I was always turned off by the lower string tension. I thought I was going nuts because it was strung up with a 10-46 gauge that I used at the time, I thought my fingers got incredibly strong overnight or something. Now that I know about the scale length differences I love the 24 3/4" scale length and 24" scale length. Don't get me wrong I am a really heavy handed player but there is something relaxing about playing a guitar with a shorter scale length. It feels effortless to me.
What I've heard is that playing with 11s on a Strat feels as hard as playing 12s on a Les Paul
fuck my delay pedal stopped working after a week. I played with it once and now it just doesn't work what a piece of shit.

it was such a good sounding pedal I dont believe this, any ideas on what to do? It was working then I changed it's position in my chain now it doesn't work at all, not even on it's own. It still lights up when I turn it on and it still passes a signal through it but the delay is dead.
Well there is a difference for guitars that are 27 and 30, the 3 scale lenght changes quite much but that's out of the range that we talk about so nvm. If you want soundclips I can provide some.
Sure! So what will the scale lengths youll play at be? I would love to hear this
anyone used the cheap little Digitech RP155? how do i stop it from blaring hellish amounts of feedback on higher volume levels? the damn thing even squeals between notes in palm muted riffs
Sure! So what will the scale lengths youll play at be? I would love to hear this
I only have a 27.7 scale lenght prs but when money and the market at the moment is right then I get a 30 scale guitar. Here is one clip comparing a 27 scale ibanez prestige 8 string with the budget model m80m which is 29.4 scale, notice the incredible tighter sound? (first half is the 27 scale and second half 29.4) this is just one of the many clips that show a hefty difference. [editline]6th August 2014[/editline] also the almost unlimited sustain the scale lenght gives.
Oh yeah the difference is definitely notable, but I'm not sure if I feel negative about it. The 29.4 feels more "powerful", but when you put on a bunch of effects it won't have that much of a negative impact to be honest, on the shorter one.
the frets on my old strat are kinda worn, and I was wondering if I'd be able to file them down myself. Would it even be worth it on a squier, or should I just buy a new neck?

Even if it still lights up the battery could be trash. Also make sure you are using good alkaline batteries.
Anyone know why my high e would break on my eight string? I broke the string that put on it a month ago, attributed that to the fact it was a month old and put on a fresh string that promptly broke as well. Both broke at the headstock past the nut.

Oi mates, here have some more percussive acoustic baritone playing on my alvarez. Special guest: The fucking wasp(s) who interupt everything [hd]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H_dSY6SX0l8[/hd]
Is the Peavey Max 158 MKII any good for a practice amp for my bass?
Do you have any kind of string tree on it?
Yeah
Yeah
If it broke around that area I'd blame that, is it the roller kind or just a normal one?
I tested the battery in a different pedal and it works fine.
Some pedals work better on low power than others, in all honesty your best bet is to get a fresh alkaline battery and stick it in there before you go through the trouble of contacting the manufacturer. Not trying to be an ass but the amount of times people have come to me and said their pedals aren't working only to find out that the battery was crapping out. You really have to go through the process of elimination to make sure you have weeded out all other possibilities. I have been given pedals with batteries that aren't completely dead but as soon as I put them on my multimeter they only put out 6 volts and some pedals don't operate on that amount while others will.

I doubt you offended anybody by asking questions and following directions. :v: [editline]6th August 2014[/editline] Does anybody make a cheap acoustic bass that sounds decent? I know there's an Ibanez and Dean around $300 but I haven't been able to try either in a store.
now I feel like an ass, I plugged it into a power supply and sure enough it's working.
Dude you don't know how many times that has happened, it even happened to me years ago. I honestly think they should engineer pedals in a way where if the battery isn't powerful enough the light doesn't come on. The problem with a lot of pedals is they will still light up even if the battery is crap.
watch tosin freak out a junkie just by playing guitar
The interviewer/presenter looks so clumsy playing guitar :v:
The interviewer/presenter looks so clumsy playing guitar :v:
tapping isn't easy when you're doing it for the first time and it looked like the host was trying it for the first time, he seemed a bit rusty in grabbing the chords tho [editline]awd[/editline] tbh I have no idea who the host is and what kind of music he normally plays so my observation might be wrong
he looks pretty nervous, his hands are shaking
it's cause he is afraid of spiders and Tosin has the fingers of a giant spider jesus christ he's fast
Heard these guys live today, my city hosts free concerts and today these gave an AMAZING show, especially their bass player was amazing. He kept making the crowd go wild and clap to the beat, and he crawled to weird places where he could rock from.
Man I can not get enough of this guy. People are listing him as the annoying train guy, I love how he acts in the stations so when people get on they have no idea.
man if only there were some subtitles
