nothing but Gibson LPs and Fender 'casters in Helsinki music shops, even the bigger ones fuck this country's music stores [editline]6th September 2014[/editline] even the place that imports Jackson has cut their selection by 99% in favor of filling the walls with fucking stratocasters i'm sick of seeing fagcasters and les gays everywhere
I tried to make the fattest mix that I can possibly make and this is pretty much the result:
jeesas FUAK Reminds me of early Humanity's Last Breath. Please do more shit like this, I'll love you forever.
I've made a smallish cover of Holy Wars yesterday, not the whole song, only learned the first part of it, I bought the audio interface so it made me want to try it, I've done in total maybe 4 separate performances and panned them with main song track as the backing in the center, maybe I'll learn whole thing one day, but for some reason I never like learning solos so maybe I'll just do the rhythm parts. I've been playing guitar for about three or four weeks now. I only have an acoustic with 4 strings ATM because I was borrowing my friend's, but he needed it back. I'm getting a new set of strings for my guitar on Tuesday probably. Any tips for beginners?

man this is a thing that is actually happening still
I want it. I'm sure you can rip it out and put an ipod in there with a small interface and get something interesting.
You could also just duct tape an iPod to the front of any fucking guitar and achieve the same effect.
the idea seems interesting but it sounds like ass. also the intro and background music lol [editline]6th September 2014[/editline] i mean it literally sounds like some 12 year old kid hooked up a dozen different effect pedals, had no clue what he was doing, and turned the gain to 10.
the bass doesn't sound as bad but that's still not good
the distorted tones just sound very flat and weak. it doesn't pop like it should. [editline]6th September 2014[/editline] my cheap epiphone+my 150 dollar practice amp sound better than that [editline]6th September 2014[/editline] ok looking through my old guitar videos comparing it yes the tone is better but holy fuck i was terrible with the guitar edit: 190 bucks lol
Learn the first solo in that one, it's really cool and has fun arpeggios and sweeping.
Gonna give it a try but I never learned sweep picking, never seemed like my thing, so I'll have to try it.
we talking bout Marty Friedman's acoustic solo right?
we talking bout Marty Friedman's acoustic solo right?
I guess he meant the next one, not acoustic one after when first part of the song ends.
The one that starts out with a run of G arps up, then B, then bends on the high e and then stuff I haven't bothered learning yet. Starts around 3:28 in the song

thanks for the tips haha. i've been playing so long from last night about when i posted that until now. i've learned like three more songs haha.
the bass doesn't sound as bad but that's still not good
I can't understand why the marketed purpose of this is onboard effects, because that was never the ideal use of these devices. The idea should have been that it had MIDI and USB output so you could plug it into your laptop and go nuts, and maybe included some easy DSP shit like the looper/stutter. Right now it's just inferior to existing cheap-ass onboard distortion/chorus/etc. circuits and standalone controllers like the Guitar Wing. It might have at least had an advantage on the Guitar Wing since an installed one basically screams "I am a tacky asshole" but having what looks like a 90s cellphone routed into the front of a guitar is a less an improvement than a lateral move.
So I was on holiday and I went to the guitar shop in Aberdeen. It's a pretty kickass shop. They used to have one of those giant fuckoff Marshall heads with a cab for sale. It wasn't there this time so I assume they must have sold it. In the window of the shop though, they had these 2 acrylic guitars. The Strat was actually a Fender which kind of surprised me, but the V to the left was a Dillon. My friend was also in Aberdeen the day before me, picking up his new car, and he went there too, saw the V and asked to buy it. Turns out it's really rare, and the store isn't even selling it. I also tried an American Special P bass, and it didn't feel any better to play than my Classic Vibe, but I never played it through an amp, so I don't know what it actually sounds like. Can't be better than my CV with the Steve Harris pickups though. I also tried a Kramer Baretta Special, as I've wanted to for ages. The store plugged me into a Marshall MG50CFX, and the Kramer sounded and played great. No sharp fret ends, nice tuners and tuning stability, a nice feeling neck, good fit and finish too. It was £140 in the store but I'm sure you can get them cheaper online, or you could a while back anyway.

That's pretty awesome, nice tone. [editline]8th September 2014[/editline] How the hell do you do this? It sounds like a pinch harmonic but it's so perfect.

It is very perfect. The ones way up there are going to be hard to hit. It's also a matter of your tone. Pinch harmonics come out better the more gain you have. Having a nice guitar with nice intonation doesn't hurt either. [editline]8th September 2014[/editline] It's also a matter of sustain. Not a lot of guitars can sound that good.
do you think an acoustic iron maiden cover band would take off well?
