Only 425 US worth plus your country's taxes and shit! http://www.rondomusic.com/product7119.html
Damn that's cheap, though I wonder how the quality is with that price. (Rondo used to have dodgy QA but idk how it is these days)
It should be pretty good, only needing a set up or whatever when it comes.
(Rondo used to have dodgy QA but idk how it is these days)
The different names they sell have different QC depending on the price point and if it's a glorified store brand version of stuff the plant produces. Agile is almost universally good shit. The worst I've heard of an Agile guitar needing was a minor neck adjustment and maybe work on a single fret. Mine came out of the box more or less perfect.
I'm so glad the only guitar I've ever bought was almost perfect out of the box.
Never bought a brand new guitar.
the only time in my life where I want a harley benton bass...
oh god don't do it
I would hope that the more expensive ones are of a better quality but my Harley Benton was a horrendous piece of shit that I wouldn't wish upon my worst enemy.
Ok I won't get it. will get peavey grindbass.

I hear pretty good reviews about the new one that came out in august, it's pretty much their high end line and I want a bass I can mosh around on stage without worries.

Admittedly for that kind of money you shouldn't expect anything decent. The more expensive ones do look a lot nicer and should be better quality but I don't know what they're like.
Has anyone ever had Lace Drop n Gains? Did it give you a noticeable difference in sound? Did it help your sustain at all? I've been thinking of getting some but I'm too poor to buy something that expensive and find out I don't need it.

They might be fine, but if you're strapped for cash, Seymour Duncan and Dimarzio make high-gain stuff under $100 per pickup. There's also cheaper stuff like GFS or Toneriders I'd consider before trying Lace stuff for high output applications.
Bill Kelliher uses them, and they've got a line of high output pickups that is actually widely used in multiscales and ERGs.
don't forget matt pike. he uses laces
Lace is not a name typically associated with high gain pickups.
every time I've heard someone mention lace it's been in a high gain context [editline]16th September 2014[/editline] before the mastodudes got their signature sets they used the nitro hemis
That's the reason I first considered getting them. Every favorite metal artist of mine uses them. Every. Single. One. (Not that that's my single reason to be thinking of the decision; they've also got a rep from errybody I know has used them as being better than EMGs and Duncans and such). Truth be told I'm not as knowledgable on guitar tech as I should be, so I just kind of go by audio demos and word of mouth for this sort of thing.
every time I've heard someone mention lace it's been in a high gain context
They literally only come up in conversation around me in the context of dad music. Guys putting Alumitones in a Les Paul so they can play terrible jazz or putting Sensors in a high-end Tele for some upper middle class white dude "blues". I always thought their high-gain models were an afterthought that some stoner music had latched to because it's stoner music. It's not like they'll magically sound different in specific guitars.
Guys, I'm gonna make a Djent stick, I'll be using the professional quality Gibson Maestro pickups from my babby guitar. What should the body be? I was thinking a gardening hoe or hockey stick.
Do we still have any guitar builders/luthiers/techs that post in this thread? Is there a good way to start learning music theory when I've already been playing with tabs for 5 years? My technical skill is okay, nothing special, but if you came up to me and told me to play an E minor I'd just look at you blankly. I feel like I could never really play with other people until I learn some of that stuff.

I'm looking to play some easy Drop C songs. What do you guys like?
I'm looking to play some easy Drop C songs. What do you guys like?
Anything from St. Anger!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm looking to play some easy Drop C songs. What do you guys like?
can't think of anything easy that isn't
Anything from St. Anger!!!!!!!!!!!!
only bands that come to mind are mastodon and converge. go to c standard and i could name a handful of songs. looking for a tube amp, preferably combo, thats <$1000 that gets me a good crunch but is still bright, warm, and crisp sounding. pretty sure orange, crate, and blackstar have something but not familiar with most of their mid price ranged stuff. looked at some mesa boogie mark iii's and while they're damn near perfect, they're hard to find an expensive (1.1k was the lowest i found). also looked at the marshall jcm 2000 tsl 602 and i can get it real cheap used but i might want something that sounds a bit more crisp with with a bit more power. i'm considering grabbing a sovltek head and a cheap cab but sovltek heads are hard as hell to find. any suggestions?
