Hell yes I am back at home and my father is bringing my babies back from his house. Glad to be back at my own home but at the same time glad I got to see my mother. Not gonna lie, I cried like a baby when I had to leave. :v:
where can i get a beginner acoustic? just to learn/jam in my room with. black is preferred :S
It's nice being back to D'addario strings. I missed my guitar not sounding ever so slightly muted.

You can get an Epiphone DR-100 in black for $100 flat. Washburn, Yamaha and Ibanez have $200-300 models in black as well. Should be able to order one from anywhere- Guitar Center/Musicians Friend, zZounds, Sweetwater, etc.
I need to get a new acoustic guitar, I've been playing the one my mum has had for years and it has always sounded like shit. I need one with a brighter sound.
I have a Line 6 Spider III, what do you guys think about the amp?
whats important is what you think about it
If it makes sounds you like then there's nothing wrong with it.
my fender frontman 10g that sits on my desk sounds like ass unless I turn my guitar down to 1 but then OD doesn't work at all.
Well, I think it's pretty good, but I'm not sure if I'm into the whole prebuilt-in effects thing.
Started my first day of the audio engineering program at the college here, walked in to my first class sat down and waited for the professor. He walks in, doesn't say a word and then next thing you know Thriller by Michael Jackson starts playing and he puts his hands in the air and yells. "Congratulations! You guys made it to the audio program!"
Everyone in the class was like "fuck yeah" and we all stood up and started clapping. All in all, kind of an epic day in college.

God damn it Kurt, I don't have money to throw at you.
started 5 years ago
played intensely the first 2-3 years
dropped off massively from there
picked up my half broken shitty squier jaguar today for the first time in ages
attempted to learn some sleater-kinney songs
same frustration, same guilt, same annoyance, same boredom, same inability
i want to fucking sell the thing but it's half broken
good on you if it's a great hobby for you or whatever but this thing is messing with me massively, it's a drain
hard to explain how it feels but i picked up the guitar just before with the intention of learning some songs and maybe creating some stuff of my own, so i listen to the songs and look at tabs, trying to play lead bits, fail horribly, get pissed off at myself and bored quickly, then i try to make up a few riffs of my own, everything sounds so shit and copycat somehow, give up, dump my guitar on the bed
Dude, that's all part of the process. The lead stuff often gets hard, and it takes a lot of practice. Learn the rhythm parts first. And if listening and looking at tabs isn't helping, try using http://www.songsterr.com/a/wsa/sleater-kinney-tabs-a36542 which is really helpful.
I've been playing since I was twelve and I still take forever to learn songs. and I always have that uninspired feeling. Try playing along to some backing tracks.

Even backing tracks get me feeling pretty bored at times tbh. Nothing like playing with others.
I was considering trying to find some people to play with, but I wouldn't know where to look. Nobody advertises that sort of thing anymore.
I just found (remembered) my old YouTube account and guitar videos I made when I was 15-17 I'm really glad I deleted the especially awful bad videos.

People don't make guitar videos on YouTube any more. My sixteen-year-old self is so cringeworthy.

lead playing is for assholes though
My only hope is to just do shit all myself and then hope someone hears it and is all like 'yeah dude I wanna play lead now' or something like that.
lead playing is for assholes though
well i couldn't think of a better word with the way the songs are played by Carrie and Corin
sorry if i offended your sensibilities
http://www.songsterr.com/a/wsa/sleater-kinney-start-together-tab-s53773t1
example, the guitars are tuned low enough that Corin basically fills a bass role anyway

nah I don't get offended
He is the offender.
Speaking of offender, I was thinking of naming my band offender and writing an album called the offender agenda. It sounds like an awesome band name to me and I hope it's not already taken.
