I figured I would start playing drums again and because I live in an apartment an acoustic kit is unrealistic, after some hard research I picked up this guy. I am officially a drummer again, this thing is awesome. I got it running into addictive drums at the moment.

Good choice to get the alesis :smile: Don't your neightbours get anoyed by the kickdrum vibration that goes through the floor? I heard it's very loud on the alesis kit.

Well luckily for me my floors are concrete and I live above my landlord who is very tolerant to noise. I am gonna perform my own homemade mesh head conversion in a few days. The bass drum is a little loud but I have already toned it down a bit by covering the beater with a sock as you can see in the picture as well as laying down some fabric to absorb some of the vibration.

Even still it was a little loud so I cut up an old mousemad and put some of in behind the bass drum head to absorb even more of that thump it produces.

[Caynug]

Just released my 3rd album with vox. I tried to catch all emotions and things that struck me the most in the period of time that I wrote the album (between february and july) and put them into song form. This album is
more aggression themed than the others.

I almost scrapped the whole album because of the stress that came with the planning/making of the songs, So I simply said ".... it I release it as it is" and here we go! Please check it out.

There are also signed CD's avaible all homemade with love and my own sweat :D

I used my PRS Baritone tuned to C#1 (next to the 0 octave) on this album.

Equipped with 17-90 strings, BKP Painkiller and my trusty POD HD bean :)

My birthday gifts were delivered this afternoon and the wait is going to be unbearable.

It's a Behringer U-Phoria UMC22, a set of Fender straplocks, a pick holder and a new bag. Waiting for the bag especially is going to bug me.

I dunno if my purchase would be justified if I got an Orange Micro Terror and that companion 1x8" cab they push with it.

I mean, it's pretty cheap and small so I could keep it in my (pretty cramped) room and can get pretty loud. But then I've also got a bass that needs an amp, and I dunno if the Terror can cut it.

guitar through bass amps yes
bass through guitar amps no (it can sometimes damage them)

It really depends what you want to play.

I played my guitar through a 50w bass amp for a year because all I really needed was a clean tone that could get above a drummer, then I saved up and got the guitar amp I wanted as well.

If jamming and gigging are not really part of your plans you could also consider virtual amplification.

Having two amps is fun though, especially for stereo effects and shit.

I was hoping to start jamming and finding my own effects, I still have a Rocksmith cable and use that for everything right now but I want to have something tangible that I could use for jamming and possible gigging in the future.

if you want to jam with people and keep up with a drummer that micro terror might be enough to keep up but I reckon you're gonna need a bigger cab than the 8"

for bass you are gonna need something with more watts

you should buy whichever one you think you are gonna need first and then scrape up some cash for the other one

Just did my first electronics test on my selfbuilt guitar, and it works! Now I gotta install the nut and place the strings and shiet and I'm done.

Do any of you have an opinion on tremolo stabilizers? I'm looking to replace my Tremel-No, which turned out to be super fucking useless.
