just pick a key and try different chord progressions which sound good to you, don't overthink it if you're just starting. go with simple, frequent progressions (for example C-F-G or Em-Gm-Am) and try making something out of it!
alternatively you can also take the chords from a song you like and play around with them, reverse the order, change a section, switch out a chord for another, etc.

I agree it awesome, I hear a lot of Blue album influences in songs and Pinkerton in others. Pat wasn't lying when he said this album was going back to the original weezer. Hell they even used some of the same guitars they used on the Blue Album from Ric Ocasek's guitar collection and he is producing the album just like Blue.

I won't be using that pickguard, though. It's just an old one I had lying around that has been used for various experiments (hence all the holes).
Gonna see if I can install a ground wire to the bridge on my les paul tomorrow, been running without one (despite it being fucking stupid) and I got a shock off the bridge pickup so I don't wanna risk killing myself much more.

Got this Ibanez GSR180 the other day. I used to have some secondhand SX bass before that and I'm still novice (self-taught) but so far this is amazing.. And don't worry I'm not using the speaker on that amp I'm using decent headphones plugged in. Unfortunately the Big Muff thing doesn't work at all.. pressing the button doesn't light up the led and the battery shows 9V on the multimeter so it's not that.

I'm not near it right now but it's just some shitty SX amp
So my other band (not my caynug stuff) did a live video shoot for one of our songs yesterday at a venue/club and what happened afterwards is amazing. The holder of the venue was so into us so that the video shoot turned into a whole 30min live show :v:

Bought myself a Boss DS-1 today and am currently running my bass through it. I love the sound, makes everything feel a lot more powerful.
What's the secret to shredding? I just learned Knights of Cydonia, which isn't that hard of a song actually, but the shredding parts are kind of hit and miss. Sometimes my hand holding the pick is too tense which makes my arm tired and drops the speed while other times I hold the pick too loose and it keeps hanging on strings. I'm not really sure about the way I am holding the pick either. I use a .58 pick because it's the only one I have lying around.
