We all can only hope. [editline]16th October 2014[/editline] And if not then I hope to have all the support from you guys in terms of comments "shits cool, guitar player looks like wannabe" "that guy with the korn style, he looks like dork" n shit like that :v:
what do you guys do to circumvent processing lag when you're recording via line-in [editline]16th October 2014[/editline] I wanna keep my guitar tracks tight but I can't handle all these milliseconds
I use Asio4All on the rare ocasions that I record using my laptop
linux does not have this problem
99 problems but processing lag ain't one
aight geet discussion help me choose outta all these sets of strings i found around my house [t]http://good-mechs.info/secret/whatstrings.jpg[/t] rate funny for neon yellow agree for neon green heart for neon pink informative for roto pure nickel box for jazz mediums clock for flatwounds

Just use it as soundcard and you will have 0 lag and your guitar signal comes out of your monitors/speakers aswell which is a double win. I use my pod hd desktop as soundcard for everything, my speakers are simply put into one of the outputs/headphone slots and my pc is configured to recognize the pod as soundcard. Everything works easy as it should and you can also play games n stuff.
that's how I run my presonus firestudio project but even then the A/D/A conversion has a few ms delay I should just buy an axe fx and stop crying
guys i found an old guitar in my closet that used to belong to my uncle. most everything seems to be in good condition sans the strings and the board being a bit rough feeling. but it doesn't play any sound when i have the pickup selector in any position unless i forcibly push it toward either end and i have to keep putting on that pressure. any idea on how to fix this because i'm clueless on how to fix it and too broke to bring it to a guitar shop. pictures i guess [t]http://i.imgur.com/t9kZ6tw.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/j07WMg8.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/Y8GbINJ.jpg[/t]

I'm no electrician, but the switch is probably faulty or there are cold solder joints on the contacts. Take off the strings and pickguard and see what's in there.
that's how I run my presonus firestudio project but even then the A/D/A conversion has a few ms delay I should just buy an axe fx and stop crying
If you set it up right you should have 0ms latency/delay. Your DAW will have the pod HD internal ms delay (which is about 10ms) and everything is shifted towards that if it's the soundcard, so you dont notice anything but perfect sync in everything.
perfect sync in everything except between me hitting strings and sound coming out of my monitors
yeah I've been meaning to get a desk phone
We call it the bat phone.
perfect sync in everything except between me hitting strings and sound coming out of my monitors
Your monitors need to be plugged in the headphone output of the pod hd or the output. I do the same setup as you wish and there is completely no latency, its the same as if you put your guitar into the input and the output to a cab  you set up something different than me. [editline]18th October 2014[/editline] Here is my method explained: -pod hd desktop connected to pc per USB. -internal pc soundcard disabled -pod hd desktop is main speaker and recording device -monitors/speakers put into the headphone output of my pod hd -guitar/mic/bass/whatever into the input of pod hd result: All audio from the pc is still working latency free since the pod is the soundcard now, you can game like that (I have my pod running almost 8 hours a day on this method) you can instantly play guitar without setting anything up aswell and recording is amazingly quick and uncomplicated.
the only differences between our setups is I don't have an internal soundcard and my interface isn't a pod hd
I wouldn't be surprised if it not being an HD is what causes the delay. The hardware on the newer stuff is pretty substantially different.
[del]Damn, the pickguard I got was for UNCOVERED humbuckers, isn't it just the two blobs of solder on the bottom holding it on?[/del] Yup, that plus a fuckload of wax looking shit.

The only thing that might suck it the pickup might be covered in wax which you will have to scraped off.
I wouldn't be surprised if it not being an HD is what causes the delay. The hardware on the newer stuff is pretty substantially different.
yeah I've not had anything better than 'adaquate' performance out of this presonus firestudio project
So, what do you guys think Epiphones PRO-1 series will be like?
Are those clip-on tuners any good? Planet Waves does one for about a third of a decent pedal based one and I dunno if it's worth getting over a pedal.
Are those clip-on tuners any good? I use mine when I am changing strings to tune up to pitch. I have the Korg PC-1 and it works very well but the d'addario NS micro my second choice. I just like the Korg PC-1 because the LED indicators and screen are easier to see.
Damn, the Korg's cheaper. Guess I'll get that instead.
