which would be cheaper? Now that I have a job, I would be able to buy the parts and equipment to fix my frets, but if it's all going to add up to the same amount that it would cost to just buy a nice new neck, then I would rather go with that route than spend a lot of time and effort doing each individual fret.
refret, but use stainless steel fret wire. they last forever. the tools you need to refret a guitar are flush ground end nippers and a rubber mallet, but unless the thing is 15 years or older and you've been using stainless strings it's whole life you're not likely to need a refret. chances are you just need them recrowned if you don't have the tools already it'll cost you about $40 to refret a neck yourself. You can get cheaper necks (guitarfetish.com has really nice strat necks for pretty cheap, just don't get any of their factory buyout stuff) but most necks start at around $100 [editline]23rd December 2014[/editline] I've got a completely perfect guitarfetish neck on my strat that I wouldn't part with for any less than $150 even though it cost me $30 to buy a few years back. it has the smoothest most perfect satin finish I've ever seen and a beautiful flame maple pattern. it really looks like something you'd get on a custom shop PRS

I saw some dude playing at an Irish pub on the weekend because I thought it would be fun to get really drunk at midday. He had a really cool acoustic guitar he said he built for $3500. It kind of had a telecaster body but it was hollowed out like an acoustic guitar and it looked like an acoustic guitar and sounded like one and it was fucking awesome. He also had a really nice effects set up, when he turned distortion on, you could still hear the clarity of the guitar but with a nice smooth distortion over the top.
ever wondered how I feel writing most of my riffs?
Writing satanic riffs intensifying When I write riffs I look like Quasimodo with instant hunchback while being half bent over the body of the guitar.
do you mean it was an archtop tele or a thinline tele? thinlines are really cool
No it was an acoustic guitar with a really thin body. Thinline teles are cool I have a JA-90 Thinline deluxe it's rad. GFS has a sale going on right now, can possibly pick up one of the new XGP necks for a better price.

my guitar's already red, but i might put a strip of that b&w racing tape on it so it goes faster
yeah that's nerd as fuck you're a nerd
It's alright man you just have to embrace it as I do. Also had this tune in my mind so I recorded it: Any advice on tone? I have no mastering skill whatsoever either.
Hey it's been awhile since I last put up one of my percussive acoustic baritone videos, so here you have 2 songs of mine live performed infront of my microphone in one take. Hope you guys enjoy it. [hd]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Njy-veF3Vxg[/hd] I also just noticed that I pretty much headbang while playing this stuff, can't shake the metalhead outta me.
I think that's less of an inability to shake the metalhead out of you and more the fact these can VERY easily pass as acoustic covers of metal songs.
nerd
u wanna fite m8 [t]http://i.imgur.com/l4wUyWV.jpg[/t]

yeah it's still nerdy but at least it's a good band
no worries, it's a plywood epi SG, I had the sticker that came with their second album on it, then I cut out the logo, steel wool'd it and removed the rest of the sticker

Apparently Harley Benton are selling a 4003 styled bass. I'm seriously tempted. Just a shame the only colour so far is cherry sunburst.
It's not bad looking but I'm not one for semi-hollow basses. The headstock is kinda ugly, and I still can't stand their logo.

I just ordered a Kramer Baretta Special for myself as a treat. I can't wait for it to get here, I played one a few months ago and loved it.
whats a good amp for an electric guitar? had one for roughly a year now and the amp I currently have (Morgan GC20R) is starting to sound sort of muffled as if there's a blanket in front of the speaker. no idea what to look for and what's good when it comes to these things
