Alright, I'll keep on playing it and if after a week it's still giving me trouble, I'll take it into a shop and ask them about it. Thanks for the help tho.
I finally got a job so I can afford to fund my massive effects pedal collection. I'll be buying a new one every 1-2 weeks and telling you all about it.
jobs are the best especially when you like doing it
On the subject of the Big Muff, is there any real difference between the regular BM and the Nano version? There are dry and effect outs on the regular but apart from that, is there a reason to get the regular over the Nano?
If you're still in the market, there isn't much of a difference I'd say. I kinda want a nano BM myself.
The Big Muff is really for people that want a Big Muff, though. It's kinda a cult thing. It does have a tendency to "muff" your sound, hence the name, so you might want to compensate if you need to. If you just want a solid, basic distortion pedal, go through this page and listen to some sound samples: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/search?sB=r&Ntt=distortion
It really depends what kind of sound you want. My recs:
Fuzz: Park Fuzz Sound, Tube Saturation: Tube Screamer, Hard Clipping: ProCo RAT, Overdrive: (KLONES EVERYWHERE) [sp]EHX Soul Food or Arc Effects Klone V2[/sp].
If you want something that kind of delves into all of those, the RAT or a MXR Super Badass might work for you.

i like money, job is irrelevant
After like 7 years of playing I finally decided to buy an amp.
After buying the multifx.
And replacing pickups.
I have weird priorities.

I can now die a happy man.
aw man, my Kramer is out of stock now on thomann, it was in stock when I placed the order as well. kind of a pain but hopefully they can get them back in stock again, if not I'll be really disappointed.

Don't know if I can call this a mistake or not.

Well, a relative has decided to order me one as a last-minute Christmas gift.
This is probably one of the few times I'm genuinely excited for monday.

would you rather shovel shit for $10 an hour or play guitar for $5 an hour

i'd rather have my old gig back and play guitar for $20 an hour plus pasta and beer
[editline]28th December 2014[/editline]
fuck i miss that gig

this is after six songs
I pick like a motherfucker but still these gator grips don't last at all
[editline]28th December 2014[/editline]
I wanna know where all that material goes
i imagine it helps create the dust and shit around the pickups and body of your guitar

Yeah I shred picks like crazy, especially on my strat because it doesn't have beveled pole pieces.

Granted it is celluloid and it doesn't last long at all but even tortex is no match.

It becomes part of the finish on my guitars.

my picks never come anywhere near my guitar body and I pick super aggressive idgi

if they can't get it back in stock for whatever reason I can get a refund or look for something else that's a similar price and they might be able to get me a discount on something more expensive according to the customer support page. the Kramer was the only thing I really wanted though, there's nothing else as good for the price
it's totally not

well the shit shoveling earns me double money and I can play guitar in my spare time.
or I could earn half the money playing guitar and still be able to shovel shit in my spare time.
My picks last forever, I never see anything wrong with them. I even used the same pick for almost 3 albums.
I must be picking technique master.
sounds like sissy picking to me
sounds like sissy picking to me
but but my djents! I don't scrape the pick along the string I think, I hit it pretty straight or something.
I like to do that ola englund reversed-pick thing when i'm doing chuggy rhythm parts. serious pick attack

Oh, sweet then! I think you'll still be satisfied There are a lot of tutorials on YouTube on how to utilize the BM to maximum potential. Happy tone chasing! c:

Meanwhile, slightly off topic, I ordered an older model Peavey Valveking that was in near mint condition, aside from a missing badge plate. I've decided to make my own, stupid, derpy badge.
Here's the original:
And here's an edit that I made:
I put in a derpy, pixel version of me as a placeholder for another derpy face. Suggestions on what to do?

On that note, our postal service is weird. I get Track and Trace info. The delivery time could be a little more specific.

Picks for me generally last about 3 months before they get nubby and I reserve them for acoustic strumming only. On my electric, I play mostly heavier down strokes, but Clayton picks seem to take the beating just fine without any problem. I think it comes down to play style and pick type more than anything.

nah you're just a pussy
Good god I am so fucking done trying to keep my strat trem in tune, I'm just gonna buy a fucking floyd rose if I want to dive bomb. I've tried adjusting the springs in the back of the guitar to compensate properly for string tension, unhooking the strings from the string trees, everything I could think of, and I still can't get the damn thing to stay in tune just for one dive bomb.
All I wanna do is unleash my inner 13-year old van halen fan
I pick decently hard and I don't shred my damn fatass nylons at all. Picks of other materials seem to wear a lot more, which is still barely anything. I have on Brain pick that is worn in an interesting way, but the rest are fine, and they're used for bass and guitfiddle.

get a pencil and rub some of the graphite into the nut slots the next time you change strings. it might help slightly.

I use this method on my strats and my kahlers and they all stay in tune just as good as a hardtail
Right now I´ve been learning electric guitar for about 4 months now, however I play straight into the amp, no effects. What would you guys recommend for first effect pedals? I want a long lasting clean blues tone.
