Right now I´ve been learning electric guitar for about 4 months now, however I play straight into the amp, no effects. What would you guys recommend for first effect pedals? I want a long lasting clean blues tone.
compression overdrive

Haven't played with it that much yet (blame unfortunately timed tech support duties) but I really like it so far. It came with a 9v battery but I'll be fucked before I unscrew the damn thing to replace it. An adapter is a tenner so not like it's all that expensive. I'll see how long it lasts me.
compression overdrive
Seconded, and the Boss Blues Driver is also pretty damn nice for a dirtier tone.
I use this method on my strats and my kahlers and they all stay in tune just as good as a hardtail
Did what he did in the video, works like a charm. Thanks!

Digitech has some decent multi-effects.

Ironically, now the only pedal I use is my Morley Wah, but that has more to do with finding an amp I love the sound on more than anything else. I'm not a big effects person beyond distortion and compression and maybe reverb for some breaking the norm sections, but that's about it.

And if your amp doesn't have it get a reverb pedal. [editline]30th December 2014[/editline] are there any quality guitars I get with a pink finish? I've seen cheap strat knock offs in pink for like $70 but I wanted to get something that looks good and plays good. I wouldn't mind getting a pink bass either.

Hello everyone! Although I'm an intermediate guitar player I never really learned how to clean my guitar properly. I bought some new strings and cleaned up the fretboard using a guitar polish pack which comes with a string winder, a cloth and a spray with 5 different ingredients: 89% Water, 5% ISO prah, 5.8% Silicone oil, 0.1% Jasmine oil and 0.1% Pine oil. I was wondering if this polish also seals the fretboard whatsoever?
it does, that's what the oils are for.
it does, that's what the oils are for.
alright, was just a bit worried since it mainly contains water and I thought i needed pure oil, basically. gonna go string up the guitar then, thanks :)
[img_thumb]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v78/modderman2/20141230_080823.jpg[/img_thumb] Well i'm happy to say I got the Lyle classical up and running, I am actually pleased with how it sounds. It still needs some work to the back of the neck and if I get attached to it then I might take the time and work it out. I'm happy with it though, considering when I got it the fretboard was falling off and the top was warped like a piece of bacon.
choooo chooo here comes the nightmare train! [t]http://i.ytimg.com/vi/3yAbIU4A5qU/maxresdefault.jpg[/t]
Hey just asking for some small advice here: What's a good guitar (ordinary/electrical) to start learning with?
Hey just asking for some small advice here: What's a good guitar (ordinary/electrical) to start learning with?
A typical strat or les paul, if you can get one. I think the LP junior would be a nice start.
Hey just asking for some small advice here: What's a good guitar (ordinary/electrical) to start learning with?
a lot of dudes swear by the yamaha pacifica as a starter axe. i've never got a chance to play one for very long but they seem pretty cool.
So guys, I bought my third guitar now, a Squier Affinity Tele, plays damn great however I changed the stock Fender strings to a pack of Elixir Nanoweb 09-42 Super Lights, playing on neck and bridge pickup sounds fine, however when I turn both on it sounds like im playing in a tube. Could it be my cheapish amp or do the strings need to settle in? Never had my Les Paul sound like its coming from a tube before. [editline]31st December 2014[/editline]
Hey just asking for some small advice here: What's a good guitar (ordinary/electrical) to start learning with?
If you want to learn an acoustic get one of those 100 euro costing Fender starting packs, if you want to learn electric get an Epiphone Les Paul or a Squier Strat. However you do need to buy an amp and it will get more expensive. [editline]31st December 2014[/editline] Thing is I use Ernie Ball Rock'n'Roll Hybrid Slinkies usually, could it just be that Im not used to the new sound my tele is making?
Hey guys, I want to play heavy riffs in like drop a#/b#/c#. i already have a pretty fine standard guitar so all i need is something that's more specialized for metal. I've been looking at these two mostly, but if there is something you guys think is better please recommend. I dont really worry about their looks/weight. I am very fond of ibanez FYI http://www.musiciansfriend.com/guitars/squier-jim-root-signature-telecaster-electric-guitar http://www.musiciansfriend.com/guitars/esp-ec-50-electric-guitar
Looks so wrong but feels so right. My inner noise guitarist yearns to pick up one of the babies.
I really hope there's not more than one of that thing
I don't even know if something like that would work.
Hey just asking for some small advice here: What's a good guitar (ordinary/electrical) to start learning with?
+1 to Yamaha Pacifica Starter Pack
Hey guys, I want to play heavy riffs in like drop a#/b#/c#. i already have a pretty fine standard guitar so all i need is something that's more specialized for metal. shrekters have thicker necks than your average ibby, jacksons are kinda in between, for drop A# you probably want 26"+ scale for stability

I'm pretty sure one of my jack cables is possessed. I've got 2 of them; a basic black that came with my starter set and a Fender one I got last summer. This setup: Bass > black cable > Big Muff > Fender cable > interface gets me no sound. This setup: Bass > Fender cable > Big Muff > Black Cablee > interface gets me perfect sound. Should I start fearing for my immortal soul?
does the bass have active electronics and is one cable heavier gauge than the other
