Order yer strings from thomann.de, good prices there
+1 for thomann, theyre way cheaper for me than pretty much anywhere else ive looked
+1 for thomann, theyre way cheaper for me than pretty much anywhere else ive looked
Thommann has some real good prices, problem is that the shipping costs so much for me.
god UG sucks ass they posted that paul gilbert psa as news today that video was uploaded in september
How low do you people have your straps? And what affects how low you have it?
I set it so my guitar is at the same height whether I'm sitting or standing. paul gilbert is a cool guy but his guitar is too low. your genitals should 100% be exposed when playing
For me it depends on the guitar's shape, # of frets, and neck angle/bridge height. On my RG, I'll be playing more shreddy sweepy string skippy stuff so I have that higher to keep my wrist from being too contorted, but my LP thing I have it lower because not so good higher fret access and it is more comfortable to play down there.
paul gilbert is a cool guy but his guitar is too low.
heresy shun the nonbeliever SHUN
heresy shun the nonbeliever SHUN
it very clearly works for him but it's not technically correct to have your guitar cover your genitals unless you practice standing up
it very clearly works for him but it's not technically correct to have your guitar cover your genitals unless you practice standing up
because you play rock guitar sitting down
because you play rock guitar sitting down
rock is for babies and other ac/dc fans
Is Aria a decent brand? I decided to buy a strat from them off gumtree for like £30 and didn't do any research first :v:
Depends on the era I think. If it's anything 80's/MIJ, you've got something good. I don't know much of their latest stuff but it might be decent. They have entry level stuff though just like every other company. I missed out on an Aria Pro II strat copy a couple of years ago, HS pickups and a floyd, for £100. I convinced my band's singer to buy an Aria Pro II SB-600 bass and the thing is a tank. Everything about it is huge and it weighs a ton. I played it at one of our gigs and it was good but too heavy for me. Sounds good though, it has a switch that changes something with the pickup, it cuts out the mids if you flick it on, maybe phasing or something? Either way, both settings are good.
My screamin' blues does not produce any sound when its on, the LED still burns brightly and hasnt dimmed, however when I max out the knobs and amp volume I get a very quiet tone, could it be the battery dying since it has been getting heavy use since the day I bought it? Or is it broken? I sadly dont have a spare 9V.
it's the battery, most pedals will still light up with a dead battery but won't work.
it's the battery, most pedals will still light up with a dead battery but won't work.
Thanks, going to buy a new one tomorrow, actually was scared something might be wrong with it.
How useful are 9V batteries for pedals these days anyway? As far as I know the most convenient use for them is during gigs but even then they're usually willing to let you use a socket to plug a power supply in anyway. Maybe I'm just thinking about it wrong.
Is Aria a decent brand? I decided to buy a strat from them off gumtree for like £30 and didn't do any research first :v:
that's a pretty killer deal no matter what, but I've never played an aria I didn't like.
that's a pretty killer deal no matter what, but I've never played an aria I didn't like.
It's an STG-003 Series from what I can tell, the dude said it was the best strat clone he's played so I suppose I should be fine. Plus elsewhere its 100+ so crap or not I think I'll be happy. [editline]11th January 2015[/editline] suddenly, geezer
that is a great avatar
I was under the impression that no one serious about doing shows used batteries
thats what i was thinking, their convenience these days isn't really that special since I can get a power supply and connect up all of my pedals to it from a single socket
Got a 76 twin reverb a few weeks ago, beauty.
Got a 76 twin reverb a few weeks ago, beauty.
Weigh it pleaaaseee. I wanna see how these oak logs I was lifting today compares.
Some new Ibanez 2015 models were leaked, among them this beauty: God dang, been looking at the 6 stringed version (this one being a 7) for a while. These are the other ones, the pictures were posted in the Extended Range Guitar Nerds group on Facebook:
Is that a new trem? Ibby really stepped up their game this year.
I just wish ESP stopped fucking around with the F series and started doing more finishes than black/white on all of their guitars [editline]12th January 2015[/editline] as in the F series are really ugly
fk yeah my big muff arrived, I feel like making a comparison between it and my behringer fuzz at some point. [editline]12th January 2015[/editline] and my wah's been shipped off, jfc im happy as fuck
Weigh it pleaaaseee. I wanna see how these oak logs I was lifting today compares.
probably weighs less than my Peavey T40 I've played 2 hour sets with that thing
the t40 was never intended to be played standing up by a single person there are drawings from ancient egypt of a pharaoh fretting notes on his t40 while three slaves held it from underneath and a fourth hit the strings in time with a palm frond to take it to a gig they had to put it in a hardcase and drag it with ropes while a guy stood over them cracking a whip
Good god I need to play one of those things now...
