How do you play chords like this? It's Am, Dm, E7 and G rearranged in different ways but I can't find out how to play like that. I'm guessing it's fingerpicking the chord or something?
Shit nigga I think I need to learn scales and shit :(
Is it bad practice if I play the electric guitar fingerstyle? Transitioning from an acoustic steel-string, I find it hard to get used to playing with a pick.

I'm still on the fence about it though cause for the price I could buy an american standard tele and that new ibanez 7 string jazz box

I started doing that on my seven, I can play black dahlias closed casket requiem just using fingerpicking. You can also use it to play chords and slapbass at the same time on an 7-8 string.

I don't know how many different ways I have seen people pronounce D'Addario. I say it Dee-Addario.
I say wop strings
How do you guys feel about SG's? I was thinking about making those my next guitar. Are they good at all? How do Epiphones compare to Gibsons? Any SG owners with tips?

The SG is a great guitar BUT!! Always try one out before you buy it, some people don't find the SG to be comfortable so make sure you give one a try. I always liked them even though they are not my favorite looking guitar.
As far as Epiphone vs Gibson I say if you can't afford a Gibson then go for Epiphone. I have a Epiphone Explorer that I love. In comparison Epiphone doesn't use as high of quality parts as Gibson and the fit and finish might be a little wonky but it doesn't make it a bad guitar. The biggest downfall of epiphone are their pickups, they are not great but that is an easy fix.

My SG Special's pickups are awful, but with the right EQ they can sound okay. The rest of the guitar is pretty decent.

Yeah I can get my explorer to sound pretty decent but I am gonna replace the pickups as soon as I can.
If you have doubts about the POD HD bean or such here is a song I wrote and recorded yesterday, bass and guitars and all these little crazy effects are made with the POD HD:

It varies really. I got myself a G-400 1961-1962 reissue and I'm in love with it. Like nazareth said, always try it out first though, SGs are a bit of either an acquired taste/hate it or love it type of guitar.
The pups in my Epiphone are great, they remind me of the gibson ones except with a bit more treble. They're made from Alnico whereas the gibson sgs use ceramic magnets if I remember right. The biggest downfall is that my SG has a bad case of neckdive, but I fixed that with a wide leather strap.
I don't see any reason to buy gibsons or fenders anymore seeing as I don't find a factory made guitar worth 2500 dollars+. You can find some gibson sgs for a lower price.
Also, I've never heard good things about gibson/epiphone guitars that use "special" in the name, but if you're happy with it go ahead and buy the guitar. Just make sure you try it first, tone is more in the fingers and amps now and days, but it's always hard to replace a good guitar.
The 'special' nomenclature for Gibson products used to mean that the guitar was equipped with P90 pickups as opposed to the (at the time new) humbucker pickups. Nowadays though, 'special' just means that it's a less expensive model, there are specials with both humbuckers and P90s. The Gibson specials are less expensive simply because they opt for a satin nitrocellulose finish instead of a gloss nitrocellulose finish, there's not much of a difference otherwise, and honestly, I prefer the feel and open resonant sound of satin anyway.
There are tons of Gibson SG options that are rather inexpensive considering the quality of hardware, wood, and setup you get out of the box, the SGJ being one of the more attractive options. But always look into the used market before deciding you want something brand new, you're much more likely to find a great used guitar for a great deal simply because nobody wants to buy a crappy guitar and so the guy who bought it before you surely took the time to get a good one. You could probably find a Gibson SG Special Faded on the used market for less than $500 and those are genuinely fantastic guitars, some of the rare early models have an ebony fretboard with crescent moon inlays (others were rosewood with dots).
Epiphone has tons of great options as well, but considering the fact that you could probably just go all-in and get a Gibson if you're willing to look for a deal, that's a choice that will be dictated by your budget and the time you want to spend.

Any idea what pickups it has in it? I have heard that the ProBucker pickup epiphone makes isn't all that bad. Mine came with the Alnico Classics and they were really dull but they sounded much better when I pulled the covers off.
do you guys know anything about Randall rg100 combo amps? I found one today at a pawn shop for $200 dollars. I could probably get them down to at least $150 because the people who work there aren't very music savvy.
In your guy's opinion, which audio interface is better for 100-150 US dollars?

It looks to be a combination of a preamp 12AT7, and a diode system, versus a straight up 6 tube combo. From what i hear it's a pretty good combo amp, and if you get it down to 150, in mid used condition it's well worth the price.
Any idea what may be causing my headstock to develop this darkened line?

I remember seeing the andertons review for that. Not a bad little amp for the price.

I always found it crazy that Rivers Cuomo from Weezer was in a metal band before Weezer.

He had a few good licks in that solo haha.

EDIT: nvm not even the same kit
It's $50 off retail, don't know if starcasters are any good though.
But it's craigslist so always lowball if the price isn't 'firm', offer him like 125
edit 2: ironically the kits are selling for $120-125 in my local CL
My dad sold a starcaster for a friend and while he was selling it he asked me to set it up so we could play around with it. It wasn't horrible but it couldn't be set up very good. 2.5mm action at the 12th was as low as it could go before the buzz started, the intonation was never gonna be perfect but it was playable and not horrible as far as pickups go.
I would definitely suggest a squier bullet or affinity instead.
