Whoever was asking about an Agile, check this out: http://rosettaband.com/post/51577975681/
Wow that looks pretty cool. I'm really looking for a 7-string though, but that's a damn good deal.
I was specifically looking at this one or this one, which are definitely on the more expensive side of things. When you say setup, what do you mean? Like taking it to a guitar shop and spending like $100 for it to be fixed up?
I was actually talking to keith merrow about that guitar a while back. He said that particular series always pissed him off because of the way it's either setup or made. The septor, that is. the few he had had more problems than most of his other guitars combined. Speaking from personal experience i would like to say the best thing to stay away from on any guitar brand like agile is just the fact you'd run into less problems without a floyd rose. I personally never have played an interceptor but i assume it'd be the same as some of their other guitars. In the price range though, It seems like they pay a lot more attention to detail, it's probably safer to get the interceptor over the other styles they pack. [editline]29th May 2013[/editline]
I was determined on buying the pod HD pro until I saw yet another video of an Axe FX Now I'm torn between the two again
From what i hear you get more for you money if you go with the POD Pro. It sounds almost as good as the axe fx, But it cost less. I personally didn't like either, and went with a 6505+ stack. [editline]29th May 2013[/editline]
Wow that looks pretty cool. I'm really looking for a 7-string though, but that's a damn good deal.
A lot of people don't actually say this, but again, speaking from experience, I play seven string, and although you can play it pretty well as a 6, you're bound to hit the strings one way or the other. It also so happens that if you play six, you'll probably end up playing the seven as a six for the very beginning. The 8 string sounds like an okay deal, but just do your research before you find the one you want.

I've seen some of his videos and he uses an Agile in several of them, guessing it'd be an Interceptor that he's modified and setup. I did plan on getting an Agile Interceptor Pro 727 with a Floyd Rose in the higher price range, and on other forums I've asked about this they seem to love Agile's higher end, so I'm probably going to go for it. I've only played Schecter, Ibanez, and Jackson before and have only liked Schecter's feeling so far, but because their necks are thicker I figure I'd go with a thinner neck for a guitar with an extra string on it. Plus Schecter's "equivalent" 7-string with FR is $200 more and Rosewood fretboard, which I don't know how I feel about. I really love my guitar's Ebony fretboard and that's what's on the Agiles. Schecter also has the Blackjack C7 but I haven't tried Blackout pickups yet.

Easy fix though if you have some abrasive wire.
what kind of software/equipment would I need to make a decent-sounding recording, and how much would it cost?
what kind of software/equipment would I need to make a decent-sounding recording, and how much would it cost?
Depends on what kind of stuff you'd want to record, but at the very least you'll need an audio interface, preferably one with some trs line inputs (for recording amps that have a line-out), one hi-z input (for your electric guitar to go straight in, allows you to use software like guitar rig and TH2), and at least one phantom powered xlr input for mics. You might also want it to have a headphones out so you can have zero latency monitoring. You can get a decent audio interface like that for under 100 dollars. Then obviously you'll want some decent mics if you're recording amps that don't have line-outs, or acoustic guitars, or drums, or vocals, tons of shit you can do with a few good mics. All in all man the sky is the limit on how much it could cost, in the end you could honestly spend as much as you want just on fancy mics (not that you have to, there are great mics for not much money out there), but with just a simple audio interface you can at least record some good electric guitar tracks using amp modeling software and maybe some drum software, that kind of thing.

It does look like it was the septor he didn't recommend, the intrepid was fine. If you can check out the interceptor before you buy it. otherwise find a used schecter, they'll never do you wrong. One of the big things is you would get the guitar after three to four days, then if you don't like it say a week after, you send it back, and you get your money another week after. that was my experience. Honestly, i would recommend schecter over agile, but that's my personal opinion, they make much more solid guitars. If you get an agile, i would just recommend a neck through. Sometimes though you can find a used schecter for a much lower price- I found my hellraiser 7 for 325$. I would recommend if you're unsure, to try a bigger brand. That's just my two cents though. If you go new, try an agile, send it back if you don't like it, and end up getting a used schecter. That was all my deal. Hope i helped. I haven't seen used Hellraiser C7's or Blackjack ATX C7's at decent prices in my area which is why I'm siding with the Agile option for now. Thanks for the input though, good to know that they have a nice return policy.
If you're gonna buy an agile you would be an idiot not to get the version with the Kahler
If you're gonna buy an agile you would be an idiot not to get the version with the Kahler
I looked through them all and the seven strings with trems all have floyd rose... am I missing something?
I looked through them all and the seven strings with trems all have floyd rose... am I missing something?
I don't think they make a 7 string with a kahler, the floyd they put on these are decent but like most cheap floyds they will end up with some problems. To my surprise I have yet to have one come back to me to have the floyd replaced with a real floyd because of tuning issues. Most of the time it is just a loose trem arm, but they do use cheaper metal to manufacture these so there is always the chance that the knife edges will wear out and it will not hold tuning anymore. Granted like I mentioned you can just plop a real floyd in place of the old one and in most cases it is a drop in replacement.
yeah the only 7 string with a kahler they have at the time is a $1095 beast with fanned frets, you have to break into 8s and 9s to see kahlers [editline]30th May 2013[/editline] or this, I just did one up that was $450 with a 7 strings and a kahler http://www.rondomusic.com/product5977.html
I'm finally starting to get back into guitar. (Although I've been doodling on my acoustic for the past few months now.) I haven't touched my guitars for a while now, I've moved twice. So all the guitars I have now are in bad shape. [t]http://i.imgur.com/zmw3csB.jpg[/t] This is a Ibanez I got when I was about 12. I have never really touched it for it always got into bad shape. I was too young to be responsible with a floyd rose anyway. [t]http://i.imgur.com/R9dRfeA.jpg[/t] Nasty fretline, I must say. [t]http://i.imgur.com/qH1deVT.jpg[/t] This use to be a gem of mine, I had a custom killswitch on it. After a while it mangaged to fuck up my pickups somehow. 2 strings are missing from it. [t]http://i.imgur.com/9Nn9Co9.jpg[/t] Out of tune electric guitar. The main problem I'm having right now is that all the guitars were purchased when I was young. I regret making mistakes purchasing guitars than I find personally, not what I want now. http://i.imgur.com/PDtKdN0.jpg Some guitar I repainted when I was 10 (NSFW) [t]http://i.imgur.com/9Ij4DBp.jpg[/t] Here is the seagull I currently own now. It it very small, so it's very comfortable for me. So, now what? I plan on purchasing a Gibson ES-335. Would anyone suggest this to someone like me? I'm also kind of new to this section so apologies.
I don't post much here but a friend of mine is selling 8 of his guitars in his collection and I noticed one of them being a ESP HEX-7 (and I'm a huge Behemoth fan), He's willing to sell it for 750$ (Which I find a good price) should I go for it? I play all kinds of stuff and have played for 5 years now. [t]http://www.espguitars.com/images/guitars/Hex-7.png[/t]

Maybe offer him $700, gotta barter a little bit. [editline]30th May 2013[/editline]
I'm finally starting to get back into guitar. Scrub it down with a brush and some simple green and slap some new strings on it if it isn't too late. Don't give up on guitars just because they are a little dirty, my guitar is a little dirty as well but it works great. You should consider cleaning them up and selling them and put whatever you get towards a 335. Speaking of which what appeals to you about the 335? What kind of music do you primarily play?
I got myself an Ibanez RGD7421 on Wednesday.

Beast of an instrument.
A long time ago I bought a rosewood and maple neck for a strat project I was doing. I bought it from warmoth. Now that I know it won't fit the crap body I bought, I wanted to put it on my tokai strat, but the holes on the neck are too spread out in comparison to the holes drilled on the tokai body. There's no way to fix that is there? I wouldn't mind using this neck for the rest of this guitar's career.

I went to guitar center today, and I realized it may of not of been the one I wanted. I ended up getting a hamer, which also happens to be a hollow body. Most people also want to try out a guitar before they buy it. I would say clean them up as best as you can then buy a few sets of cheap strings and shove them on there. But I'll go look online and read about it. If I don't do that, I may just wait and see if I can buy a nice body for it from warmoth also. Because then I could continue my partscaster.

I think I might have been picking too hard. [editline]30th May 2013[/editline] Actually, guitar tip of the day. If you are picking your strings sharp with a .60mm pick, calm down.
I can't there's sections in new groove where you have to pick sharp though I'm using .73s

I asked my local guitar shop how much it would cost to install a Whammy Bar on an Epiphone Dot. He said around 350 dollars. Is he for real or what?

It's just a replica, a Gibson Epiphone Dot Cherry... I mean 350 dollars is nearly as much as the guitar itself is worth.
Doesn't matter. It could be a Squier affinity or Hendrix's barbecue strat and I'd charge the same amount. It's the same work either way.
