He wrote way better when off his nut on whatever drugs. I got into an argument with one of my friends on facebook about Megadeth's recent work after he put up a status about Super Collider. I said that their recent stuff was kind of "meh". I wasn't fond of 13, and Endgame had its moments but I'd hold my opinion on Super Collider since I haven't heard it all the way through. He went off on a rant about how shit Metallica have been recently and that they had 2 good albums at best and that Megadeth is way better than Metallica and Metallica are shit. It annoyed me that he was so defensive about a comment like mine. I said their recent stuff wasn't as good as their old stuff and it was kind of disappointing but I'd wait and see what I thought of their new album. He goes off on a rant about how Megadeth are the shit and I don't get it. I used to be really into Megadeth but I moved more into Metallica. Both are good though.
Anthrax is the only good big 4 band
on a different note. a couple of bands entered the Red Bull competition for Download this year, and they were from Aberdeen (Scotland). Semperfi and Akord. I got word today, that Akord went on stage with Phil Anselmo and Down. played Bury Me In Smoke. on the main stage. at Download. words cannot describe. [editline]14th June 2013[/editline] Akord is a band that is friends with the local groove metal heroes, Ten Tonne Dozer. loose connection but fuck me. that is a fucking opportunity and a half.
Got bored, made a video about D'Addario strings. Been getting nasty comments about using d'addario ever since I posted that video where you could see a pack in the shot. People think I am endorsed by planet waves or something.
could have just left it at "because fuck you"
Yeah but then I would be like Scott Grove, never go full Grove.
yeah but scott grove doesn't really have much of an idea what he's talking about
yeah but scott grove doesn't really have much of an idea what he's talking about
If he didn't talk like such an asshole he might be interesting to listen to.
I record songs and stuff weekly and haven't ever recorded a single solo in 8 years, this is my first ever recorded improvisational solo ever (end of song, it's a full mad world cover in my version) Gary Jules - Mad world (Caynug style):
If he didn't talk like such an asshole he might be interesting to listen to.
the world would be a better place without scott grove
After not playing in years (5+), I've decided I want to pick up a guitar again. I've always loved the Les Paul design but the Epiphones are pretty expensive, so I've been looking at other guitars with similar designs. I found a local selling a Ibanez ART300 for $225, but I could probably get it cheaper. What's the word on the guitar and it's performance?

I don't think I have played the ART300 but I have played a few of the other models and I liked them. It looks like the ART300 comes with Ibanez's version of an EMG but I have heard mixed thoughts about them. I guess it all boils down to playing it and seeing if it plays good and sounds good.
Did it again... I was playing Traynor by Dinosaur Pile up and I guess I got a little too into it. You know what sucks as well is you don't initially feel any pain and then there is just this sudden sting of the sharpest pain.
i've never bled on my guitars... i've drooled, but never bled
i've never bled on my guitars... i've drooled, but never bled
Why do you drool on your guitars? :v:
Why do you drool on your guitars? :v:
I do it too, I focus too much on my hands and forget to swallow the spit that accumulates in my mouth :v:
I do it too, I focus too much on my hands and forget to swallow the spit that accumulates in my mouth :v:
Yeah, it's easier than you think, especially if you're looking down and focusing really hard on your playing.
Basically what they said!
I have never done either. I get a bit of string grime on my right thumb and index finger sometimes if I rub against the strings a lot. Kind of annoying really. But it happens. Also, I might give my Kramer to one of my buddies to give it a custom paintjob. It'd be well awesome.
So i just bought myself a Tascam DP008 and I recorded something really fast https://soundcloud.com/guckymeister/demo123 Yeah I know there are some mistakes but I just wanted to make a quick track

But is that background noise single coil hum? Or is that coming from the interface?
Sounds good, I like it. But is that background noise single coil hum? Or is that coming from the interface?
Single coil hum. Is there really anyway to block it out during recording? [editline]16th June 2013[/editline] I should also add in that it was recorded on a shitty rock band mic
Single coil hum. Is there really anyway to block it out during recording?
Yeah, you can use a decent noise gate pedal like an ISP decimator, your guitar should go straight into that so it's first in the chain and then any other effects go after the noise gate/reducer. There's probably a way to reduce the noise in the software too but I'm not very knowledgeable about that. Oh and if I were you I'd plug the guitar straight into the 1/4" that can be switched to instrument level and then try to find a way to take the tracks from the DP008 and throw them through something like TH2 or Guitar rig.

And what do those do?
Why? And what do those do?
Well I don't know which one you're asking about so here's both lol. Noise gates and reducers take out the background noise, gates by cutting off the signal below a certain threshold, and reducers by processing the noise out. Guitar Rig and Overloud's TH2 is a type of signal processing software that allows you to emulate amplifiers and microphones. They can take a normal dry guitar signal and run it through a virtual amp with effects and mic simulation. It may be higher quality or a better recording than your rock band mic can do. But it sounded fine for what it is.
Another good tip if you haven't tried it is to move around the room or spin in a 360 to see if there is a spot where the single coils aren't picking up as much interference.
I am currently recording my album with 1 year old e-guitar strings, they kinda still sound good and beefy and they aren't rusted or such since I clean the fretboard and strings after every time I touch my guitar. Is it bad if I continue using these strings for my album that I am recording? Or am I stupid?

Gonna start recording soon so I'd rather save the freshness
And for something completly different from me, acoustic guitar with vocals!
