I wish I could sing, most songs that I like all have vocals that I'd like to sing. I can sing and play, but my singing is pretty piss-poor.
So I bought the Line 6 Floor Pod Plus. It's a sweet pedal with a lot of buttons and knobs... but you know what? It doesn't even have a power switch. To turn it off, you unplug it. Motherfuckers you put so many buttons in there, but you just couldn't put a power switch on it? Nope.
Most pedals don't have a power switch
Most pedals don't have a power switch
my pedal doesn't have a power switch either, but it's really fucking stupid. Why would they NOT put a power switch on there? it's like, $1 worth of extra electronics, and it's not like they couldn't find space on the giant metal box for an off button.
I have a Mustang 3, the bass is shit and if your pickups are crap it'll mud up really bad if you go past 2 on the volume knob. It's also way too loud for bedroom playing imo. I really regret not getting that Peavey Bandit instead, can't get one now though because I'm saving for a Princeton Reverb.
Mustang IIs are awesome, tons of low end, and at my band practice (which is pretty loud), it doesn't go above 4. In comparison, my Squier CV Precision into a Fender Rumble 75 is turned up to about 10 or 11 o clock.
I just keep all mine plugged into a surge strip and flip off the surge strip when I'm done with it
I wish Taylor made some more affordable guitars, I've seen a lot of people use them to make acoustic covers and I always love the tone from them. Example
I'm getting a pretty hefty paycheck tomorrow because I picked up some overtime. There's also a used orange 2x12 at my local music shoppe for $400. I might just have to treat myself lol. If I do buy it, I'll get to use it on Saturday for a show my band's playing at a record store. I'm pretty stoked
It took me 3 days to learn this shib http://vocaroo.com/i/s1JMEiBzUhiY
Alright now do the bass part everyone loves. Kidding aside though 3 days to learn that? I couldn't even get the rhythm right.
fuck yeah figured out the solo to where is my mind by the pixies.
my rgd7421 just died i am officially guitarless until our ep is done
What did you do to it?
I've tried one of these before and it was real comfy with a powerful warm tone and oh lord, I think I'm going to have to make a purchase here.
New $700 acoustic or classical guitar. decisions decisions decisions

Anybody played a jumbo acoustic before? I remember being satisfied with the bass from the EJ-200 I played on demo but I'm not so sure if it fits the reggae chords/rhythm of some songs I want to play. Shit son, I might settle with something else. Damn. I'm confused.

I would think reggae would benefit well from the mid punch, best to let your bassist handle the bass. Also usually those types of guitars have the nut width of at least a classical or wider so they're great for fingerpicking as well, they also excel at early blues.

I don't want an ultimate choice to search for, just an idea of what might be good or not. I just wish my local music store had a much broader range to choose from in my price range. There's only about 10 guitars between £150-200 - I don't want to spend too little and get a cheap plywood piece of crap, and I can't spent too much either.

That is the beautiful thing about acoustic guitars is you immediately hear what sound your gonna get, no fiddling with amp settings or tone knobs.

I think their price matching shit requires an online order though, which is a little weird.
My band's guitarist just called "Hey, are you bringing your own amp tonight?" Turns out our singer got us a gig at a pub yesterday and told the guitarist, who now told me. Soundcheck is in like 3 hours. What the fuuuuuuck.
What did you do to it?
nothing! i started my pod only to hear loud noise. i know it's the guitar because i checked the cable and pod with a bass and it sounded fine
nothing! i started my pod only to hear loud noise. i know it's the guitar because i checked the cable and pod with a bass and it sounded fine
It's probably a problem with the input jack. If you can hear a loud electrical sounding buzzing noise when you plug in, it's likely because your guitar is probably making good contact with one of the tabs and not the other. Really simple to diagnose, just take off the cover and pull out the jack and see what happens when you plug in a lead, check for shorts and bad connections. If it's the contacts of the jack itself you can clean it with contact cleaner, deoxidizing spray made for electronics. If the jack has suffered some kind of mechanical stress and the solder joints are failing, that should be obvious and you can also easily fix that.

Active pickups are irritating.
Active pickups are irritating.
They have their place but honestly and I would like to have them in one guitar at some point but I am a passive pickup guy.
Learned my first full solo tonight. woo.
They have their place but honestly and I would like to have them in one guitar at some point but I am a passive pickup guy.
I find myself to be an active lover, as some of the passives in my price range sound like crud. Their tonalities don't really seem to be on spot with what i want. I usually use extremely fast playing, and i like hearing each note individually, so i picked both EMGx as well as a model of SD pickups i can't really remember. However, on my 7, i have regular EMG actives, and i find i hate their sound because they make a stupid farting sound since they don't register the low end very well. I'd get some blackouts for it, but that would mean routing it a bit, which i don't want to do, and there's no real shop in my area i would trust with doing it. (ie a pawn shop i got the seven string does the repair, and it's strings were rusted, and it's truss rod was a little fucked.)
