out of all the guitars I own my favorite is a $50 chunk of plywood with a built in amplifier that doesn't work. I picked it up as a joke and it just felt right when I did. nice chunky baseball bat neck, 24.75 inch scale. It had been sitting in that shop for about 3 years before I picked it up.
it was a Synsonics 7021. Some other Synsonics models (specifically the Synsonics Terminator model) show up on Ebay from time to time and I've been considering picking up another one
My Ibanez shouldn't be a great guitar but for some reason it is just special, granted I might be a bit biased but I am not the only one who thinks it is.
My father bought a prestige heritage elite les paul (original one) for 399€ 7 years ago. One year later I did some research because nothing was fake on that guitar and it had way to crazy carvings and gold everywhere. Turns out it originally costed 2399$ at the time.
Whoever fucked that up, thank you it was/is an fantastic first guitar to have. I need to confess tho... I haven't played it for months.
wow my band is in the studio from today on... my grandma died today I can't handle it

You should go do it dude. It'll help get your mind off of that. I had to go to school for two weeks while my mom was in hospital. anything to get your mind off of it dude.

It's just hard, I will do it but it's incredibly hard. I work from 9:00-17:00 and at 18:00-23:00 im in the studio for the whole week, I just survived a mild depression and pressure from last week and a gut infection and now this.
so uh, Predator turned up at the festival I played on Saturday.

Getting my flight to Outlook festival tomorrow, anyone else going?

I know that pain man, I got the call about my uncle one morning before work. Best thing to do is keep yourself busy so you can keep your mind off it. I still ended up going to work that day and even though I had teary eyes all day it did help me get my mind off it. Give the studio a try and if you need a moment then ask for a couple minute break.
Had to fix a loose solder joint on a Les Paul Supreme today...
Jesus what a pain in the ass, first thing I had to do was figure out where it was at and in the end I just ended up pulling the whole wiring harness out to fix it. The stupid thing too was it was caused because the guy never tightened the controls or output jack so some of them were loose enough to move when they were turned fast.
In the end I found two loose joints and fixed them, and to put a cherry on top after buttoning the whole thing up nice and clean the guy told me he wants to bring it back in a week when his new pickups arrive so I can install those...
At least that won't be too bad, I can just put some string on the controls before I pull them out.
Anyone else excited for the Fender Starcaster and Coronado reissues if the Fender vines are to be believed?

I've played so much of the new electric that I need a lil break.
I really do need new songs to learn, I'm just recycling things I know.

Coronado, yes yes yes yes yes yes yes! I would have gotten one if I hadn't made my mind up on saving for a Daguet Crestwood Deluxe. It seems like a really neat guitar.
If they do reissue it I hope it'll be a tad cheaper than the vintage ones though.
the starcaster looks pretty cool, a little hollowbody
The headstock looks so phallic though :v:

Most definitely, I'm hoping for $1,000 - $1,500 CiJ, maybe even MiA
Not sure if I'd pay $1500 for a fender guitar that wasn't MiA.

With how much vintage Starcasters go for nowadays, I wouldn't put it past Fender.
Hey guys, sorry I haven't been on here in a while. I finally got a 1/4 to 1/8 adapter for my guitars. What do you guys think about the quality? Recorded a small little progression with my Alvarez without any affects and used it as a sampler as well as a learning process for Audacity.

Hot damn, finally got me a Gretsch Streamliner. G3141, rare as shit.

Holy fuck why did I stop listening to Airbourne, their new album kicks ass.

I love the fact that there are still bands coming around playing simple raw rock n' roll, and that riff is so pleasing to the ears.
3 days after changing strings (and 5 after buying the guitar)
it sounds so much nicer
is it because the strings have set?
[editline]28th August 2013[/editline]
Maybe I just found the right clean sound for me :v:
Changing strings always makes a guitar sound nicer. Especially with bends and higher fret notes. That being said; I haven't changed strings on my acoustic in probably two years, and my electric in probably four... :/
i break my strings at least once a month because i pick way too agressively
I have absolutely no idea how I don't break strings. I mash my low E string so heavily doing gallops all the time (granted, it's so think I doubt it'll break easily) and trem. pick the rest so much that they should. But I've only ever broken two strings, and both times were tuning the strings to open D.
Well, i bought my first guitar halfway through July, its not the most expensive guitar in the world but i freaking love it.

It's a Epiphone Les Paul Special-II LTD, and i've been practicing mostly Metallica songs, not the best way to start since they are pretty intense but Fade to Black is pretty fun to play even though i can barely play it (Got the Riff down though and abit of the intro)

The only noticeable difference is the finish.

Im also a huge fan of the guitar myself, I haven't got any clue on specs at all since i barely know anything about a Guitar, but it works wonders.

I gorilla my strings too, but never break them because I use 13s. If I used 9s I'd probably snap strings constantly.

Something I found helpful for reducing my tendency to pick like I'm trying to kill shit is using a sharp bronze pick. You'd think that'd make it worse but because of the friction you end up snagging like mad unless you ease up. But I never had a string breakage problem, my issue was always that I basically ground the tips of most picks off or made celluloid ones crack.
i prefer playing with really soft picks because i tend to play fast. ill probably end up hurting myself if i use harder ones.
i already hurt my hands playing with soft ones.
