I have gotten my shipment of an omen and a hellraiser. the omen is a korean model from 2002, it's sort of cool, but nothing really special, the hellraiser is actually really beautiful, made in 09 south korea
The first guitar I told my friend to buy was an Omen 6, turned into a pretty special guitar. The stock pickups were kind of crap though so I told him to put some Duncan Distortion pickups in it. Pretty sweet guitar now.
A binman's son is now very happy with his new plywood guitar
This thing was the most pathetic piece of crap ever. It couldn't hold tune, the pickups were microphonic, the bridge was crap, it wasn't grounded properly, the pots were shit, most of the screw holes were stripped and it was just generally a piece of shit. I wouldn't have wished that guitar on my worst enemy.
there's no such thing as a guitar that isn't serviceable.
there's no such thing as a guitar that isn't serviceable.
I agree I love when people bring me junk guitars to get going, they are never gonna sound great (unless you really wanna put good hardware and electronics in it) but I can usually get them pretty playable.
I just had a great idea, and so here's what 3 minutes of garage band got me. I can tell you by either tomorrow or the day after i'll have some backing going, and I'll know where my cord is to go straight to my computer. Any thoughts guys? https://soundcloud.com/milo-h/dont-give-up-on-nothin No more media tags? :(
tune it down like 4 steps
About that guitar building thing: I have the class tomorrow, should introduce the project by then probably, not required but I'd like to get to work as soon as possible. Body shape. I have a lil Les Paul myself but I do rather like it. Should I find something unique or go for a classic strat or les paul? I know I should decide this myself, and I will, but I would like other peoples opinions :v:
Could someone recommend me a nice and cheap multi-effects pedal? I have been searching for a while but I want to know what you guys could sugest.

I know I have have always wanted to make a single cut les paul junior but I want to put my own little spin on it. Maybe you could try that, stick with a familiar body shape but make it unique.

On a different note, my mom rented me a chord book, how sweet. thousands of chords jesus christ. It's the Guitar Chord Bible by Phil Capon. It also has finger positions which don't really help since I play upside down :v:

It's sporting chrome EMGs now and I've had it for something like 4 years. Even though I've picked up much nicer guitars since then, the Omen still feels great and plays great. I've handled $1000+ guitars that I didn't like playing as much as that Omen.

Oh sweet, he's awesome. I do like playing with fingers more than a pick, maybe I'll start playing more like him. Certainly will.
today i decided to play along to a couldn't stand the weather backing track
Going to take a guitar class on monday from my dad's friend (actual teacher, player) Hope it'll help me learn.
what's sort of strange is how different my EMGx's sound versus the regular EMG's, they have a steep mid and hi roll off, so it's like playing a bass, but when i play my hellraiser, the 81 and 85 just scream.
Why even learn scales?
lol
what's sort of strange is how different my EMGx's sound versus the regular EMG's, they have a steep mid and hi roll off, so it's like playing a bass, but when i play my hellraiser, the 81 and 85 just scream.
Passive pickup master race
lol
this sounds like one of those people who are like "scales only hold you down, creativity comes from within" crap yeah have fun jamming the blues if you don't know the scales
Passive pickup master race
I honestly don't like emgs or Seymour Duncan passive pickups. Only dimarizo and bkp. It's sort of funny because I do play more than metal and every time I tell people I don't like passive pickups they accuse that I'm just a mindless metalhead. I'm going to switch my x's to my hellraiser maybe. I'm thinking the Floyd and the basswood body have something to do with it.
this sounds like one of those people who are like "scales only hold you down, creativity comes from within" crap yeah have fun jamming the blues if you don't know the scales
its impossible to not know a scale unless you're tone deaf
Passive pickup master race
Vintage output passive pickup master race.
whats a fun song to play that is on a clean electric guitar?
whats a fun song to play that is on a clean electric guitar?
that dingus is playing it wrong tho
its impossible to not know a scale unless you're tone deaf
i'm basically saying you should at least learn some basic music theory when someone calls for a different key, you should probably know what scale you're going to switch and noodle around with
depends on what you want to play if youre gonna be in a Mars cover band the less theory you know the better
