I heard nitro opens up the sound a bit too.
There was a change with my Ibanez when I took the poly finish off, I didn't notice it till I did an AB comparison. Not much to write home about though.

Guys, Im trying to figure out the tab for You are my sunshine, but I cant find the correct tabs anywhere. Could someone help me finish this? e|-------------------- B|----------5-5------- G|----5--7------------ D|--5----------------- A|-------------------- E|--------------------
I would pay good money to see them on a tour together, yes. That was a pretty darn good rendition of "pour some sugar on me". This stuff is one reason's why I'm never gonna give up playing music. I want to be on stage in front of a crowd and make them happy. Also, grinding with taylor swift wearing an interesting dress while shredding wouldn't be bad at all :v [editline]10th March 2013[/editline]
Guys, Im trying to figure out the tab for You are my sunshine, but I cant find the correct tabs anywhere. Messing round with my recording setup, what could i do to make it sound better? Bass is double tracked, guitar is triple tracked. might need to add some more mids to the guitar. http://snd.sc/ZshOjS also how do you get soundcloud working in the media tags?

What's a good/cheap way to get the rust/dirt out of an guitar?
steel wool for metal hardware i would assume, lemon oil for the fretboard and a lot of soft, clean rags
update on my smoking marshall: i opened it up and looked for scorch marks on the pcb. i found that the 3-pronged outlet jack had a completely black scorch mark around the brown lead so i cleaned it up and re-soldered the copper strip which was almost completely shriveled up and burnt. the amps fine now it doesnt seem to be smoking anymore, and i have some ideas about why it happened, but does anyone here have like some input on why it burnt up right at the lead? xenocidebot i know u got the brains on this hit me up with some science

Could be a simple short somewhere. If it's not smoking anymore and sounds fine then you've probably fixed it.
yeah i was thinking that it might be pulling too much power but i tested the tubes in a different amp and they seem to be fine. no arching, and they are quite new as well. ive read up and saw that my amp might have overheating issues, is it possible that the whole design of the amp is just flawed?

If it's a common issue then yeah that might be the case and there might even be a known fix for it.
Anyone have good tips on placing your fingers on a string without accidentally resting them on other strings? I can't even play a D without my 3rd finger resting on the 6th string.
Anyone have good tips on placing your fingers on a string without accidentally resting them on other strings? I can't even play a D without my 3rd finger resting on the 6th string.
Adjust your hand angle. You should be able to do this easily.
What model is it?
JTM30
what's the best guitar
JTM30
Yeah it's overheating, I saw a used JTM 60 in a shop once with a bunch of vents punched into the top. Your best bet is to try and give it the best chance of ventilation, if you dare you can go with the vent option. If not just try and keep it cool by any means.
Anyone have good tips on placing your fingers on a string without accidentally resting them on other strings? I can't even play a D without my 3rd finger resting on the 6th string.
The key to fixing that problem is to try your best to use your fingertips and be perpendicular to the fretboard. If at all possible, you want to be coming straight down at the strings. Any kind of angle and you're right, you're going to be laying across other strings.
xenocidebot i know u got the brains on this hit me up with some science
I would need to know what you meant by "3-pronged outlet jack". You mean the power input? Thing what you plug into the wall?
I would need to know what you meant by "3-pronged outlet jack". You mean the power input? Thing what you plug into the wall?
yeah the power input [editline]11th March 2013[/editline] the thing that you plug into the wall
Well this is a silly question, but are you sure that burnt bit wasn't a fuse?
Well this is a silly question, but are you sure that burnt bit wasn't a fuse?
yes i am very sure it wasn't the fuse, the fuse was fine. the place where it was burnt was the solder contact between the plug and the pcb board
There shouldn't be a soldered contact between the power input and the board. There should be a big fucking power transformer between the two mounted to the case and then six wires going from it to the board and everything else. Lemme guess, this is one of those things where it's just stuck directly to the fucking board and there's a huge mess in the case.
