Finally got it, test playing it now, so good, the neck is so smooth, very comfortable and balanced guitar. My old guitar at the top looks like grandpa.
Grandpa looks cool too!
I played for good few hours now, need to stop because it's late now and neighbours would be angry, I had a blast with this guitar, it really goes well with my distortion pedal, handles amazingly well, the action is pleasing, the neck is really good, I had no problems switching to it and actually found my playing to improve dramatically as I can do a lot of upstrokes now with ease and my left had just sticks to the strings, they never escape somewhere else, I even found myself using tremolo quite a bit, holding it in hand while picking feels very natural, so far it goes out of tune a bit but the reason must be because of new strings on it and they still need to settle. Tone is quite warm, very vibrant, the pickups handle a lot of punishment, I even set my pedal to to the maximum potential when the valve tube kicks in and it's crazy.

For the price it is a very good guitar, I was gonna buy one and turn it into Rivers Cuomo's sonic blue strat.

Man my friend just reminded me of an old trick to kind of save wound strings, my wound strings on my ibanez were going a bit dead. Someone at some point (probably a bassist) told me that if you detune the string a little bit and then ping it like hell against the fretboard a dozen times it will brighten them up. I forgot that trick but thank god I was reminded, it's a good quick fix to get a little more life out of a string.
I still use the soak strings in alcohol trick even though bass strings arent $50 a pack anymore
I still use the soak strings in alcohol trick even though bass strings arent $50 a pack anymore
I used to boil my strings, depending on how old they were they would sound like brand new again.
this is why I like nylon strings, I've had the same set of d'addario pro arte strings on my classical guitar for over a year now, I'd only ever change them if one broke because they're still just as bright as the day I got them, and new strings suck anyway on a classical guitar because they won't stay in tune till they stretch out properly

Does anyone here have an Aerodyne Jazz bass? I'm considering getting one.

If my Classic Vibe Precision is anything to go by, they're incredible instruments at ridiculously good price points.
Ever since I got my explorer there has been this white wax like crap in the grain of the rosewood, I can only assume someone at the factory went to polish the frets with some metal polish but failed to mask off the fretboard before doing so. Spent about an hour with a toothbrush and naptha scrubbing away at the thing to get it out of the grain. Truly a bitch and a half but the result looks great. Gotta give it to them, the fretwork on this guitar is pretty spiffy. [editline]9th October 2013[/editline] Aaaand I broke my D string...
I think i've found my tone, just need some new strings, managed to get a deathcore/djent tone out of my crate GT212, an OD and my SG with an SH5 in the bridge it's fucking heavy, but relatively low gain at about 4 I used a guitar hero mic, not good for recording but meh
Just got one of these moments when I realized something, been jamming around in C# / Db Major then I realized it's basically F Aeolian Mode, it had a neat sound to it. The more you know... Oh wait, I'm wrong, checked on site, it just sounded similar and guessed from memory... I feel like punching myself now.

Same notes, just a different order.
wouldn't it be F Lydian? Same notes, just a different order.
It's very close although every single note is moved by half step. so in C# Major you have on low E (F, F#, G#) in F Lydian it's (E, F, G).
Guise.. I stand corrected. I ended up buying a Crate GT212 for $200... :D Still getting the tone right and really need new strings now, but I love it thus far!

If your Major was C# then the mode starting on F would actually technically be E# phyrgian yeah? Pretty close to F minor but with a flat second.
I'm getting a birthday gift tomorrow! [sp]it might be a new amp that's what i'm hoping for the most woohee, excited either way[/sp]
If your Major was C# then the mode starting on F would actually technically be E# phyrgian yeah? Pretty close to F minor but with a flat second.
well technically, an E# is enharmonically F you dont have to call it E#

Any recommendation for recording hardware interface? Are Line6 Pods worth a while? I would prefer to record from my gear though, my pedal has emulated output, I need something simple that gets the job done and has quality.
