I was thinking really nasty messed up string ferrule
Well you were all WRONG! :v:
imagine the remains of your finger if that were a slide
I was playing teenage dirtbag and then I figured out maybe by the inkspots.
[QUOTE=mastoner20;42514963]Big surprise to anyone who knows me, but I've been heavy on learning some of Alter Bridge's new CD before I had to come down to SC for a funeral.

I love the new record, it's great.

What finger? :v:

My favourite song on the album is Waters Rising.

I don't want to imagine the mess left on the guitar.
I always get scared that I'm going to lose my touch with guitar.
Tremonti's a freakin' beast. I love Waters Rising to sing along to and to listen to the most. Guitar wise, I can't really decide between Cry a River, Uninvited, or Bleed it Dry. All three are awesome (well, keeping in mind that the entire album is outstanding).

You could say I busted a nut...
excuse the dust, took steel wool to the back of my neck to make it matte and noticed the breakage
Tremonti is an extremely talented guitar player and can shred like a beast.
Anybody has a challenging acoustic guitar song to recommend? Preferable in normal tuning, thanks :)
wonderwall
Challenging D:
Alter Bridge, Shinedown and Halestorm UK tour.
Yes.
And we only get one show too far away in the U.S. and without the other two awesome bands... :( I hope they do a U.S. tour together once their done in Europe. I've seen Creed twice, but have yet to see AB a single time.
On a different note. I'm going in sane being in SC without my guitar for the next week. It's been five days already and I can feel my fingers starting to soften all over again...
anyone have any easy song to play and sing along to? i'm terrible at it
and please don't fucking say wonderwall
Rude mood? :v
No, really, uh... Metallica has some good songs that you can learn at a slow tempo that are great teachers for downpicking, Creed has a few popular singles that are mostly strumming (Don't Stop Dancing was one of the first ones I learned), The Eagles have some good riffs that are relatively slow-paced to play along to once you get the transitions.

Most stuff by CCR would work

Blackbird is easy to sing along to once you get the fingerpicking down.

temecula sunrise by the dirty projectors, the rhythm is tricky
So I just got back my guitar from fretwork/repair after a shipping accident. It's been five months, I almost forgot what it looked like.

There's fingerpicking in Blackbird...? o.O
what's the best way to clean the white gunk out of the tiny little cracks in the fretboard without a toothbrush? I only have the one I use in my mouth at the moment...also I have no access to steel wool at the moment either
also is it okay to leave my guitar sitting without strings overnight, or will the neck start to bend without the strings as a counterweight to the truss rod?

Not really, unless you wanna spend hours with a little needle going through them all... As far as keeping the strings off it is kind of ill advised, it really depends on if there is some back bow in the neck with no string tension. If the neck is somewhat straight with the strings off them I see no harm as long as you don't leave it like that for weeks.
It's just good practice to loosen the truss rod if you are gonna leave the neck without string tension.

I think mastoner20 was thinking of Blackbird by Alter Bridge.
Do you guys remember a guitarist who was playing some weird ass shit and one of his videos was posted in the videos section. The stuff he was playing was really bad with a shit ton of effects but his actual playing is amazing. The video of him playing good and improvising was actually jazzy if I am not mistaken
You guys are my only hope of finding that beast again
