Or else you might just become a drummer
I went from drums to guitar.
I want an electronic set, i'd probably write my own songs if i could make drums for it. I can't improv without drums or some sort of beat

Yeah I need an electric set, I live in an apartment so acoustic just won't work anymore. I don't mind making drum tracks with superior drummer and what not but it's such a hassle because to program the dynamics you have to do it manually or be very good at using a MIDI keyboard. It's just a hassle.
A drum track that would take me like an hour would take me around 20 minutes on a real drum set.

me too
Same here.
I still find the drumming in most music to be more interesting than anything else
By some odd coincidence I also tried to learn drums before guitar.
but got bored
3 years later hello guitar
So this is where the drummers in the drum discussion went. They all went to learn guitar.
There is a girl in my town selling a "BC Rich Platinum Edition Guitar" (with a cheap 50watt amp) for $300. What's the standard price for these ones? She doesn't really have any other information, sadly.

you're not supposed to play the solo parts and the chords at the same time
unless of course you have four hands, then go for it bro
Record yourself playing the chords, then play the solo bits over it. Also, record the solo bits and play chords over it so you get a feel for both.

I played drums from about 2001 till around 2006, I started playing guitar in 2004 and got my first guitar in 2005. I would still be playing drums but our landlord at the time took away my drumset (which was his but he said he gave it to me)
I had a cheap set that my parents got me while I was still in Vegas but we ended up selling it when the landlord gave me his kit. But after he took it back I stopped playing and stuck with guitar. I still hop on a set at Guitar Center and for some reason I never forgot how to play.

I have an NJ 1987 BCRich, and even though it's made in america, it's only worth 100-200$ at best. I would hold out anyways, Those bridges are really a pain in the ass. Hard to find parts for, the money would be better spent elsewhere. you could find a really good used on ebay for the same price, honestly. I got my hellraiser C-6 for 340$ shipped there.
Well I just got some seriously depressing news as I was going to sleep...
I've mentioned before I live near an amazing store that specializes in bass guitars. Well, it's closing down because the owner has terminal pancreatic cancer. :/ This is insanely saddening for me because the guy was fucking cool as hell and his store was amazing. It had some of the best looking bass guitars I've ever seen, some of the most expensive too but they were all quality. I felt like a kid in a candy store every time I walked in there. He had this awesome blue Rickenbacker that was his but he kept in the store for kicks that he would let me mess with every time I went in there. They has this cool looking 8-string Hagstrom that I thought was just so nifty. A couple of incredible five-strings. Stuff you just wouldn't find in any old music shop.
Christ. I don't know how to feel. This is depressing.
My condolences bro.
We had a guy here in Spokane who ran a shop out of his home, I think he was called Guitar Guy. He was this older than dirt guy who used to play in a skiffle band back in the UK way back when. He was such a cool old man, always had a great story to tell and on top of that he had some great equipment there. His shop ended up closing down a couple years after I moved here and I wondered why, a friend of mine who was closer to him told me he had a heart attack while he was cleaning his shop. He always played this Gibson hollow body, not sure what model it was. Maybe a byrdland but I am not sure.
I feel your pain, he kept his shop going even though he didn't make a whole lot of money from it. He was just very dedicated to helping people out and it sounds like your guy was the same way. If you can still get near him let him know how much fun you had in his store, I wish I could have done the same but I didn't have that option.
Well how about I buy an 7 string and tune it to CABBAGE
[editline]2nd November 2013[/editline]
Hey guys I like me some new djents, I just tuned to this super cool tuning: [sp]FAGGED[/sp]
Which bass tuning would a drummer have if he forgets his earplugs? [sp]DEAF[/sp]

A very good way to teach someone the recipe for gingerbread, with JEMs and fun
Drums to guitar master race. Can't really express much on drums other than cool so I urged myself to learn guitar. It's pretty worth it.

I loved every second on the drums, I would probably still be practicing if I had a kit.
Tuned my acoustic 2.5 steps down, sounds amazing.

I remember tuning a Gibson Jumbo down to D standard, that is one hell of a sound.
Tuned my acoustic to drop C today, fun times!
I don't know why people tune their acoustics especially classical ones down, it makes it sound fizzy or dead to me. I used to, but not anymore because it just was flubby
I decided to try out Rocksmith 2014 since it has a new jamming feature.
of course it doesn't launch and doesn't have a no cable patch yet

You get used to the E standard sound and as soon as you go lower you really hear the acoustic guitar body shine. I kept in E standard and tuned my big string somewhere down to B to make some interesting chords and holy fuck that sound, it catches your ear instantly.
I played E Standard tuning for so long everything on it sounds boring and bland to my ears and I really need to switch tuning from time to time so it all gets refreshed for short duration, D Standard or Drop C sounds so beefy which makes playing heavy rhythm fun, playing same thing in Standard E is not the same.
gdangit the side of my pinky hurts for no reason and it's making it difficult to play some things
