Oh, damn that thing is sexy. Would look better with a floyd and you could always block it and it'll be an awesome hardtail with fine tuners.

Yeah, I just wanna do it in a non destructive way just in case the new hardware changes the sound in a way that I don't like. I tried changing the trem out a long time ago and when I went to play it it sounded less alive. The harmonics on it are pretty crazy, very easy to achieve. With the other trem is just killed it, on top of that it my sustain went down. I have high hopes for the floyd though, I have played many floyd equipped guitars and they seem to be pretty consistent. I have maybe ran across a few bum guitars with a floyd.

Are you gonna get an OFR or an Edge or Gotoh or what?
[QUOTE=cpt.armadillo;42838862]Are you gonna get an OFR or an Edge or Gotoh or what?[/QUOTE]
I could go for one of the licensed floyds and honestly I should but if I am gonna spend the time to put one on it I am most likely gonna go for an OFR.
Just ordered an daddario pro steel bass string .95 for my baritone prs :v:

I can't sort of figure out what to do with my guitar playing. I'm 4 months in almost and I can sometimes almost play properly and sometimes really not. Any tips? Learning new things keeps me excited.
just keep learning things and keep playing the old things you know.
When I learned my first song on the guitar way back, I kept playing it everyday for a month straight, until it sounded exactly like the record.
[QUOTE=Nazereth666;42826874]Let me know how it is, I am really interested in them.[/QUOTE]
at work now but I was able to open up the box and play it for about 20 minutes before I left
first impressions are holy fuck this thing resonates, it's about as loud acoustically as my hollowbody
it's also a good pound and a half to 2 pounds lighter than my DTT700 destroyer despite the neck being significantly thicker
[editline]12th November 2013[/editline]
I do know for sure right now it's pretty much killing me not being able to be playing it right now
haven't felt this way since I got a gamecube back in like 5th grade

Every explorer shaped guitar I have played is acoustically loud, my explorer is loud as well. I might have to put one of those on my list, I don't know if it will be my next buy but we will see.

yeah it is
the fret dressing could maybe be a little nicer, but taking into account the overall feeling of the neck and the fit and finish, it seems like maybe this one was just finished just before quitting time
one thing that bothers me about it so far though is that the pickup selector is reversed compared to my DTT700 which has been fucking with me nonstop
[editline]12th November 2013[/editline]
but for $699 it's a pretty nice guitar
[editline]12th November 2013[/editline]
tone zone in the bridge and air norton in the neck is an excellent combo with this mahogany also
I want to get the black one and stick a middle pup in it so I can Phil Collen. D'you think that'd be a good idea?
no

You'll have to take a pic for us.
i saved up a lot of money from this work week, and I'm about ready to take in my guitar to have new frets put on, have it set up, and have my amp repaired. fuck yeah man. I need this bow taken out of my neck, it's so slight that it resonates a couple of strings and few frets on those strings. i'm ecstatic right now for it!!

Woah, just randomly figured out As I Am by Dream Theater by ear. In Drop C though, since it's easier to tune to than what they use. Still need to practise the solo though :P
Edit: Lol, 777th post
That reminds me my friend who loves Deff Leppard told me that the guitarist used a weird tuning.
Is it like 1/4 step down tuning or something?

I know photograph is in a weird tuning, I tried learning the song and I could never figure out why it never sounded right. I guess it is in some weird dropped tuning.
[editline]13th November 2013[/editline]
I don't think that was intentional though, could have been that the tuner they used was crap or something happened when they were transferring it off the master tape.
Buddy Holly by Weezer has some weird tuning issues in the verse parts, the song is in E flat tuning but in the verses it seems to be slightly sharp.

Anyone here have recommendations for finding a band? Tired of just playing alone.

Ask friends who play instruments or even acquaintances. My band was formed with me on guitar and my friend on drums, he knew other people who played instruments and we got another guitarist and bass player. The bass player was just some guy my friend went to school with.
Other than that try going to music places like rock night clubs and stuff. There's a punk club that I go to that has lots of available musicians of every experience level and if you talk to the bands when they're done playing they can help you out also.

and you might get lucky and find local single males online who also want to play
Every time I have found someone to play together with it was a co worker. When I got my job at Best Buy I worked with a guy who played drums and another who played bass. Then after getting to know most of the employees who worked in the instrument section I ended up knowing quite a few people who I could pick from the play in a band. I never did end up starting one though because I ended up leaving Alaska but we did have quite a few jams in the instrument section which was always good fun. Usually about 8 of us would grab an instrument we know and just play, I usually stuck to drums and guitar. We even had a girl who knew violin which made for some interesting jams.
