Would it be safe to play a bass through my Crate GT212? the speakers are real bassy as-is
At low volumes yes but at higher volumes I can't guarantee you anything.
Would it be safe to play a bass through my Crate GT212? the speakers are real bassy as-is
Yeah, just not very loud. I do it all the time with my Sunn.

I wouldn't recommend it. In fact, I'd tell you to ship it to me in order to prevent any further damage from being done on the amp. :v
But, no, really. It should be okay so long as the clean channel is played low for practice. If you're thinking a gig with it; see my second sentence.
090 ghs boomer on my prs baritone tuned to c#1, sounds good to me!

Well I like them.
two of the most overrated guitarists in the world
My teacher is starting me on Paganini's 24th caprice.

you fucker. i had to watch that entire solo until the end of the video, and then i didn't know where they started from so i just watched it all over.
fucking fantastic both times, though
My teacher is starting me on Paganini's 24th caprice.
and soon you'll have a room full of strats and your very own ferrari just like yngwie
two of the most overrated guitarists in the world
feel like I should elaborate on this
I think they're overrated, ~not~ insignificant
no doubt there's thousands of great players that were heavily influenced by both of those old choads I just don't like them nearly as much as most other people seem too
Yngwie just has 50's strats laying around on his sofa and walls and everywhere.
If I have a strat collection, it'd prolly be sevens.
that's a somewhat interesting proposition
if y'all could have a ridiculous collection of any one model of guitar ie strats les pauls SGs etc what would it be
So question on tuning. If I wanted to go to A# standard should I go up in pitch from E standard or down?

New ATB song, and it's not a 9-string dj0nt-fest, me gusta.

Every '59 Les Paul in existence.
Just imagine having those bragging rights.
and then posting videos on youtube of them all in a bonfire

I'll make a video of you in a bonfire.

I believe down, if you wanted to tune up to A# use a capo, I'm sure it wouldn't be good on your guitar or strings to actually tune it up that high.

This 59 just came through the shop. All orig, it's worth twice that of my house...

That mix is god awful, what are they doing?
[editline]19th November 2013[/editline]
I can't hear the kick
That ATB mix is very flat.
you guys have any tips for sweeps? I haven't played in a while so I'm a bit rusty but I can still manage to hack out most of the Selkies solo (starts at like 4:40 although I bet most of you have heard it). I'm fine at the smaller sweeps but god, the bulk of that solo is just too crazy for me. I lose track at about 6:28.
Sweeping is for janitors.
Same thing that goes for p much every guitar technique: start slow and speed it up as you become more comfortable.
I figured. It just feels weird, I'm used to alternate picking and it's hard to sweep slowly and keep both my hands in sync.
