I like playing Black Sabbath (the title song) when I test guitars in shops, if you ever enter a shop and hear it, then it might be me invoking satan in the shop, I once played it and some old guy looked at me terrified.
I think I have told this story here before but when I was at Guitar Center testing out a Blackstar amp I started playing Cold Gin by Kiss. Not like 2 seconds later a guy wearing a kiss shirt walked up to me and just stared at me like this.

It was kind of awkward at first but then we sat down and had kind of a Kiss jam session :v:
There's something funky going on with this GC stuff. They have my money, or it's in limbo. I don't have the amp too.

I think it's too epic for regular englishmen, they will think it's another viking raid.

was trying out a new amp at the local music store a few days ago and i played some slayer
what song(s)
seasons in the abyss and raining blood. iirc I played crystal mountain by death too
Edit: the amp I tried was a fender mustang IV combo amp. solid state so it doesn't have the best tone but I picked it up for 500 bucks, 200 bucks off the normal 700 dollars. for the versatility it has i say its a good pickup.
Mustang amps are really surprisingly good, they can do a lot of stuff. There's one at the practice space I use with my band. I tried out a Bronco once at the music store in town here but I couldn't turn it up too loud. I want to try one properly but it's only 40W so it probably can't do too much more than be a practice amp.
The one I got was 150w
i hate that i haven't had an opportunity to make my 100w properly scream yet
Such is the downside of having a high power amp.
You could get an attenuator, the only one I know of is the THD Hot Plate.

highly recommend picking up the merry axemas album if you're into christmas tunes

My friend has one for his Marshall Vintage Modern. It's only 50W but it's still pretty rare that you get the chance to crank it fully without attenuating it.
getting my guitar set up for the first time today. can't wait to get it back, been itchin to jam for months
Acoustic guitar in line in sounds good on the pod hd  here a song I made with some vox:

pretty cool how well it picks up those strums above the nut
pretty cool how well it picks up those strums above the nut
Even more surprising because I had the guitar capod on the 3rd fret and the strings above the capo where quieter than if you hit it without the capo above the nut  thank you.
So anyone check out Guitar Center or their local store for any Black Friday deals or anything?
There was a slick lookin' ebony Epiphone LP for $70 that I pointed out to my mommy. She said she's up at 6am every morning anyway so she went and got it for me. Can't play it 'till Chrismas though :saddowns:
Also considering getting myself a new guitar for christmas.
Preferably an Epiphone ES335 or 339.
All my guitars have broken strings, and I'm too lazy to buy new ones.
I can play a three string guitar dammit.

my local music store didn't do anything for black Friday which kinda sucks but they always have sales and stuff so its cool. they still had a lot of business yesterday, tho

I always preferred the 339, the smaller body just fits me better.
The 335 is pretty obnoxiously large
The 335 is pretty obnoxiously large
I'm a pretty big guy so even the 335 fits me alright but the smaller body on the 339 just feels more comfortable. Standing up I could use either with no problem but when I sit down the 339 just fits the bill for me.
When I picked up my old guitar into my hands and sat with it in playing position, it felt so weird...it's so damn dirty too, it's like a piece of history with fossilised sweat and dust on fretboard.
So keen to restring my guitars, I love that freshness that comes with new strings.
I haven't changed my bass strings in more than 18 months and they still sound fine, perhaps I should get around to it sometime.

I haven't changed my acoustic bass strings in 3 years, oops.
Jeez, I've been playing for almost 5 months now, feels like no time at all :v:

I remember there was an image of songs you can't play in music stores, does anyone have that? :v:
