With a case I don't think it's a bad price as long as it plays good.
I think I'll buy it, it seems like a good deal, I just hope there's nothing wrong with it... I'll probably meet him in a guitar shop or something to test it out. I actually read a bunch of reviews and most people say the Gretsch Electromatic Jet guitar is better than the Epiphone Les Paul? I could buy either for $200

Try out everything, twist the knobs to make sure they work, and mess with the pickup selector. If it all works then it just comes down to playability.
I guess Ill go to a store and try both first. Is there an obvious difference in how they sound, or are they pretty much the same?

Can't say for sure what each guitar will sound like so it will really be up to you to decide which sounds best.
Aeromancy opening riff is surprisingly nice and easy.
dat drop c though. I need to get a guitar I can set up for drop c without a nightmare and a sacrifice to satan.
I just fast tune to drop D and play with that :v: I think they're using drop C sharp. Also learned Purple Haze, all besides the solo, which I will attempt later :v:
dat drop c though. I need to get a guitar I can set up for drop c without a nightmare and a sacrifice to satan.
if that's the case i can't imagine what darkslicer's gone through
it's the simplest tapping pattern in the world to play, but Aerodynamic by daft punk is really fun to play.
if that's the case i can't imagine what darkslicer's gone through
Every guitar I have available to me has an Edge and light strings. After two hours, I got one into D standard, and I don't feel like doing that again to lower the pitch of one string. And he's got a hardtail baritone, I don't think the situations are similar at all. How many sacrifices to satan does that require though?
I just realized that my guitar would probably bend to an "U" shape if I tune to drop C... 090-015 strings on an 27.7 baritone :v: [editline]7th December 2013[/editline] Drop C# bass octave me is btw
I have standard strings on my guitar, same ones it came with, I think they are 9 gauge the thinnest top string, it's fine in drop c, but very light and there isn't much tone coming out when picking notes so it's sort of muddy unless distortion is cranked up more, I think 10's are good enough for that tuning in my opinion, not too heavy and not too light so you can still bend strings easily and it has good enough tone coming out when picking notes. I'd probably swap strings but I suck at intonation and doing all the setup with new strings is always painful for me.

You should get some thicker strings if you are gonna be using lower tunings more and want a stronger string tension. I actually like the lower string tension of D standard with a 9-42 set :v:

I actually like the lower string tension of D standard with a 9-42 set :v:
It's more of your typical fender bridge, I can pretty much increase the tension at the back by adding springs if I want to, I'm surprised it even keeps in tuning well in lower tuning without it, and the least it's a really good exercise to learn tremolo picking on strings that are more loose, after that when I went back to standard tuning it was ridiculously easy to pick, it teaches you more control.
Block the trem? as long as you have one that's 25.5" scale or longer you should be able to easily drop to D
I use the trem, and I'm just gonna build a guitar for down tuning and open tunings. That's my current project, and I have an idea for a fretless with a sustainer for the next. Got the neck for that already. I have all the parts for the first one but the electronics. I gotta get a good CAD file to work with so I can CNC the body first. [editline]7th December 2013[/editline] I rebalanced the trem for D standard, and that's what took so long.
Ha my friend has to perform Jingle Bells(i believe) today and totally forgot about it :v: he is now rushing to the location.
So my brothers friend snapped the high E off my guitar and now I'm missing the part of the bridge the string lays on, on a tune of matic bridge btw. What the fuck do I do now? Buy a whole new bridge?
Ha my friend has to perform Jingle Bells(i believe) today and totally forgot about it :v: he is now rushing to the location.
Oh god you reminded me of what I did 2 years ago... my version of Jingle Bells: Jingle Cunt: it's horrible.
would be even better if it was out of tune
lol check the very end where I just rage detune my baritone guitar.
hah :v: bonus points for baritone though, they're neat.
Any slide enthusiasts here? I'm having trouble with the solo in this song: After 3:38 it gets a bit too complicated for me, any help would be appreciated. I'm probably playing some of the stuff wrong later in the solo aswell
It doesn't sound like his JP BFR is in standard tuning, the low sting sounds too deep to me.
He's playing in B standard as far as I can tell. I know he plays this song on a baritone, I've got everything down except that solo
every week or so I run out of licks and start using only one or a few :v: why does this happen
every week or so I run out of licks and start using only one or a few :v: why does this happen
Needs more coming up with licks. I just play random things I know will sound good at that moment, and try to keep a flow between my licks while staying in key. It sounds like I play the same thing over and over again to me.
