I feel the same way with songs, I've been playing the same set of songs that I know and a couple riffs here and there (that aren't mine) for years. Every now and then i learn new stuff but it's kinda rare, the last one was that The Defiled song i think i posted.
Other than that a couple whitechapel riffs
I finally gave in and will use an bass as main guitar for my next album project :v: will use slap and distortion, interesting shit here I come.

Yeah, apparently they found the receipt in the broken floor model. they couldn't find any evidence of the transaction happening besides that. Kinda spooky.

I'd be interested if it had some sort of locking feature, since otherwise it's useless on something with a trem/locking nut. Also, if it came in 7.
Hey guys, newcomer here.
Just thought I'd pop in with a question.
You see, my mother gave me a gift today. It was an acoustic guitar. I did a bit of googling and came up with the Terada FW-650. Mine has a bit of the floral pattern missing, however something unusual inside the guitar caught my fancy.
Tethered to some unknown part of the guitar inside of it near the bottom is a 1m (approx) 3.5mm auxilary cable. It looks ancient, but it doesn't seem to be as old as the guitar itself (the appearance of the jack does not match the appearance of the 4 oldest strings on the guitar, all of which appear rusted bar the last 2). I do not have an amp, nor anything connected to my computer with a pre-amp on it, however it fits perfectly into my stereo's auxilary input, despite resulting in no audible output. There are no visible switches, and all light tugs on the cable indicate that the cable is securely attached to the guitar (via some item inbetween?)
So I ask you, FP, do you know what this cable is?
I present to you a picture, taken from my iPhone, the guitar, with the cable hanging out.
LAST MINUTE CHANGE: Cant get the photo, the file will show the thumbnail no worries there, but the full image wont show more than a few lines...
EDIT: Retook the photo, problem solved.

It could be a mic or a transducer pickup that broke.

Hmm. Any point in removing it or should I just leave it there until I can (be bothered to) get it fixed?
I want to learn some more songs in E flat, do you think it would take long to learn all of the blue album by Weezer?
[editline]13th December 2013[/editline]
As it stands I have 5 playlists:
Standard 18 songs
Drop D 27 Jimmy Eat World songs and a Fallout boy song
Eb half-step/drop c# 8 songs
Bass 20 songs
Acoustic 11 songs
I know how to play most of them 100%, most of them by ear because the tabs are very inaccurate or missing detail. I started playing about a year and a half ago and thats 85 songs in a year and a half.
[editline]13th December 2013[/editline]
but the point of this is that I don't have enough songs for me to drop down to half-step tunings

The blue album had some of the first songs I learned, as a guitar player for about 2 years at the time it took me around a month of lazy practice to learn all of the rhythm parts and another week of strict practice to learn the solos.

It doesn't take me that long to learn a song. I know Say it Ain't So, minus the solo, Undone, minus the solo, and the opening riff to Surf Wax America.

Woo found a Yamaha control pedal!
gotta love musician parents!
[editline]12th December 2013[/editline]
its still terrible
What the hell are you using it for? Volume pedals are very useful if you are like my dad and have a few heads going into a 2x15 cab. Pitch shifting is also cool shit, but often unnecessary.

I'd try removing it unless it doesn't bother you. Just be careful, it might be pretty cool.
[editline]12th December 2013[/editline]
It's here! Gonna open it up in a bit.

It's either the cheap software or the insane sensitivity, but it's either none at all or a lot.

Yeah my dad is a guitarist and every now and again he surprises me with what he has. I remember one time I was really getting into the Ebow and I wanted one but they are around $100. I mentioned it to him at some point and he said "hold on real quick" and walked downstairs. About 10 minutes later he walked back up with one of the old chrome ones. Kind of an obscure thing for him to have considering I could never see him using it but it was funny.

almost all of slayer's library is in Eb if you're into that kind of thing

I don't listen to slayer but I could check it out.
So I found a box on my porch [t]http://i.cubeupload.com/cckxzY.jpg[/t]
After much effort, I got it in the door and down the stairs.
It looked a bit ghetto so I decided to cut it like a bitch

Conquered the cardboard!

While it warmed up with some lazy nachos

It's really really bright, but that's most likely the spankin' new speaker and tubes that need to be broken in. I messed around with all the channels, and after fiddling with the eq for a bit I got something that sounded pretty darn good.
I also tried turning the volume all the way up on the clean channel so I could hear how the power amp distorts. It was beautiful.
[editline]12th December 2013[/editline]
I'd do sound demos but nothing to record with besides built in laptop mic or my phone, both which are shitty.

Haah, lucky you.
My dad plays synth sadly though, so no lucky free guitar stuff for me :v:

The weird thing is he always seems to have the things I would never expect him to have, my father plays a lot of classic and 80's hair metal. But then he ends up popping up with a ring modulator pedal or something, but I am thankful. I still have the Tubeworks RT-2100 that he gave me and the two vintage Ibanez Flanger and EQ pedals he gave me. It's all good fun.
*sigh* there's a silvertone H621 in my area in great shape for 110$ I'm so tempted I just gotta decide if I wanna have food this month or go on the ramen diet.......

Okay here's what I've got: "Say it Ain't So" and "Surf Wax America" done. I figured out the solos in "Say it Ain't" So but a note in the solo solo is off.
I learnt "My Name is Jonas" but I can't play the intro at the right speed.
Gonna learn the solo to "Undone" and then learn "World Has Turned" and "In the Garage" next. It's a very easy album to learn so far.
I seem to go through phases with my guitar playing, sometimes I get really into it and other times I only play it for half an hour every couple of days.

Anyone know if you can laser designs onto a fretboard? I now have access to a Epson laser that is capable of doing it. I kind of wanted to do something like this design:
