[QUOTE=Garry #2;43171660]Anyone know if you can laser designs onto a fretboard? I now have access to a Epson laser that is capable of doing it. I kind of wanted to do something like this design:

The fuck happened to that poor thing?
still need to get my guitar refretted and re-set up. It won't help that I have a christmas vacation coming up which will suck down some $.
Went to the music store today, and saw the hobbit!
Tried out some guitars, was expecting to like the Epi ES335 the most, 339 wasn't in, ended up fancying two Squiers more than the few Fenders and Gibsons there :v:
Are Squiers generally bad quality? I sort of have a low opinion of them for no reason.

I have a squier standard strat and to be honest, I wish I had got a Classic Vibe or at least a Vintage Modified strat. The later aren't even much more expensive.

The classic vibes models from Squier are great. The rest, not so much
yeah, high end squiers are pretty decent in my experience
my bass is a squier vintage modified P-bass, sounds pretty acceptable even in drop C

not modified pickups or anything

[editline]14th December 2013[/editline]
I'll try all the guitars in my price range there next week, then buy something.

I was reading up on Ritchie Blackmore or Floyd Rose (can't remember which), and I read that to keep the six screw bridge in tune better, you can unscrew the middle four a bit and leave the other two in. That'd make it similar to a two point, which is more stable. There's a bunch of tricks like that.

I have done that to countless strats, for some it works and some not so much. The most important thing is to make sure the screws are all pretty much at the same tension. It only takes one screw to throw everything off.
I prefer to to completely remove the two middle screws instead and maybe loosen off the two inside scews a tad, that has given me good results in the past.

How well does that work?

It works well for me, I try it on most strats if I have a tuning stability issue.
I'm looking for a good A/B/Y switch if anyone knows of any good ones
I'm looking to play through my Orange TH30 and Fender Excelsior both one at a time and in unison. Having the diversity of tones will really colour my live sound nicely, but I've heard that a dodgy A/B/Y switch can actually demolish good tone (phase buisness and technical mumbo jumbo that I barely understand).
Anyone got experience with a dual amp setup?
I don't have any experience with dual amp setups but I wish I did. Reading about people's rigs with lots of amps in it makes me jelly.
Tom Delonge from Blink has two Vox AC30s for dirty and 2 Fender Twin Reverbs for clean.

He's strongly opinionated, I'll give him that.
Generally, I don't really care what a bass or guitar is made of. As long as it's solid wood, I don't care. Plus there are so many other things that can affect tone anyway. Strings, pickups, pickup position, EQ, amps, speakers, even picking position.
I have 2 P-basses, a shitty Harley Benton which plays less like shit now I shimmed the neck, and a Squier Classic Vibe. The HB has an Artec pickup and the CV is stock. Both have Ernie Ball strings. The HB sounds decent, and plays better now that it's got a shim but it's really nothing special. It's made of fuck knows what. It dents easily though. The CV though, made of basswood, plays and feels excellent. I've not played any American made instruments at all but to be honest I don't really feel the need to when a Chinese made instrument can play and feel as good as the CV does. And it sounds like a P-bass should.
Why should I pay £500+ more for an American Fender with an alder body or whatever they come with, when I can get the sound I want from a great playing instrument that cost me £270?
Status, bro. Loads of people I know won't touch a Squier just because it isn't a real Fender and that is hella silly since a lot of Squier basses play and sound nice.

It's not just that, he said literally every gamer is a piece of shit and etc.
But status, yeah.
Recorded my first track with 2 distortion slap bass bass lines (one left one right) one normal picked distortion bass in the middle and some synths drums etc. let me tell you.. this is the shit, I made it to work so good that I pretty much created something that's completely new in this style. Will give a proper track and stuff after my next album release. Gnarliest tone ever.

Scott Grove - Yep, another retarded gamer. You are all the same. Simply worthless and need to be put down like the lazy dogs that you are.•

following a discussion which he started after someone mentioned Chappers elder scrolls tshirt.
He seems to take a lot of things very very seriously.

Reminds me of some users in other sections of Facepunch, it's sometimes really annoying this weird mentality, pretty much "no fun allowed" approach, you simply can't goof around.
