What do you guys think about Rocksmith? I've been using it for a few weeks now and it really seems to be helping me. I could never really pick up guitar on my own, but I've been steadily improving since I got it.

I tune gauge 9 from D Standard to E Standard so many times and I don't pop any strings, make sure you tune your lowest strings first starting from low e, the moment you tune up another string the tension on the neck loosens up the strings you previously tuned, so you pop back and forth adding more tension, tune the highest e string only when you have proper tension then it won't snap. When you tune down start from the highest strings.

I could never justify a 9 string guitar for my playing, I have played around on an 8 string before and it is good fun but it's not for me. Now I can tell you I wouldn't mind a 7 string.
So I just contacted the famous rapper dan bull over email with my only bass instead guitar album and he likes it so much that we both start a project in 2014 with that stuff (metal, slap bass distortion, grooves, rap)

The thing with 8+ strings for me is the necks look way fat and uncomfortable to hold...

only that's not an extended range guitar it just has doubled octaves like a 12 string
what exactly does extended range mean
