That looks like it would be incredibly heavy.
yeah it looks like it weighs a ton, but what I'm wondering is why is it a bolt-on? If it's acrylic why not just do it in one big piece, fuck the bullshit. I'd take an acrylic SG with the body thickness of the SGJ so it'd be nice and light, that would be cool. Speaking of that I think I might just buy one of the new SGJs soon, a 24 fret maple neck SG with zebra humbuckers, I'm all about that. The 2013 SGJ looked kinda weird with those black pickup covers but the new 2014 model is excellent and even less expensive I think.

Not sure if I want to go from scratch or go with a kit and modify it. I don't really have the ideal tools to build from scratch...
Acrylic Les Pauls just because original old Les Pauls weren't heavy enough, I'm guessing it's just a gimmick right? I don't see purpose with owning almost transparent guitar made from material different to wood.
I don't know how people can handle only having 1 volume knob.
All my Ibanez has is one volume knob, I don't even have a tone knob due to the pot being broken. It doesn't really bug me, I love having two volume knobs on my explorer mainly because they are kind of hard to get to but on my ibanez the volume knob is so accessible that it doesn't matter to me.
Going to take a bit of time to get used to a strat. I like it more at some points. Well, it feels much better in the hand. And generally is much better quality than my cheap ass Epi LP Special II. [editline]21st December 2013[/editline] well that was unexpected

Little thing I came up with in about 5 minutes lol...some bits are a little out of time, but it doesn't detract from the experience too much. Not that there's much experience to begin with.
Staneh, would you say Rocksmith is a good learning tool for someone whos guitarcurious? Im thinking about buying it and a cheap guitar for myself as a christmas present
I have it as well, I dislike it. But that's because I take a vastly different approach to learning new stuff than it. If you're literally just starting out as a musician (Not just guitar) overall I'd recommend it with a teacher or at the very least a lot of youtube videos showing you proper technique. What it does is it'll simplify the charts, and as you start mastering those charts it'll start adding some of the notes its hiding. It'll simplify chords as well until you can play them. It will even recommend which fingers to use. I personally don't like it because I prefer to start ridiculously slow and play through something to get my fingers used to the movement than speed it up as I get more comfortable with it. I really don't like how it'll hide notes.
I didn't learn to play with Rocksmith myself, I started playing it once I could already play a little, but it definitely helped me improve my techniques and become a better player. It would probably be quite a good learning tool but I still recommend an actual teacher if you want to start out and learn the techniques properly. I really love just playing along with the song, that's what I play Rocksmith for, really.

It makes it a lot more fun and gives you more time to memorize the tune before you think you're ready or you just want to have an arcade style jam.
woo the black strat has lil nut problem, the good lad at the shop will fix that and get me a second strap button installed next year, no time to do it now (which makes me sad)
Black strat is back on my wall now, and shinier than ever!
Pics or it didn't happen.
