Can someone PLEEEEASE tell me. Is it possible to move the neck of a Jazzmaster and to put it on the body of a Jaguar with the sound being amazing?

That really sucks. Why have they yet made a Jaguar with a standard Fender scale size?
tips for somebody wanting to get his first guitar? I've been playing ukulele for over a year, but I've always wanted a guitar and now that I have the money I'm looking into buying one. Do you think knowing how to play the uke will give me an advantage when I start guitar? Or is it very different? Also, I'm left handed. obviously I will have to invert the strings, but is there anything else you think I should be aware of before buying? thanks!
get a lefty guitar and string it normally
I'm left handed and learning on a right handed guitar strung normally. My left hand just feels so much more natural fretting than my right.
or be odd (possibly mentally troubled) like me and play a righty guitar upside down.
or be odd (possibly mentally troubled) like me and play a righty guitar upside down.
Dick Dale did it.
as did Albert King and as does Doyle Bramhall II.
as did Albert King and as does Doyle Bramhall II.
I have been addicted to doyle and albert for quite some time now. Doyle's performance with eric at Royal Albert Hall has to be my favorite by far - especially because my favorite solo is an albert king-esque solo. Best of both worlds
Picked up my guitar after a day of not playing, perfectly in tune (this is a big deal for my epi) < mfw my G string is buzzing really hard on the first fret though, I reeeally need a new nut, you guys already saw my Low E (B) nut slot which is borked

I bought myself an ebony Epiphone Les Paul Standard. I'm happy with this purchase.
Are there actually any sound quality differences between guitars? I mean is there an enormous difference between a low-end and an extremely high-end guitar?
I think it's down to the pickups and the player, mostly. Everything else is subtle
Not really, my strat sounds totally different to my les paul unplugged.
Not really, my strat sounds totally different to my les paul unplugged.
I guess that's quite subjective. The average person probably wouldn't notice a huge difference.

I just released my album "Imperfection" (its not the bass guitar stuff) 16 tracks full of vocals and emotions. Caynug - Imperfection album link: http://caynug.bandcamp.com/album/imperfection And if you only like softer music I have 3 songs in this album aswell: (acoustic guitars, beatboxing and singing): http://caynug.bandcamp.com/track/i-found-my-way (this ones just me singing with a choir): http://caynug.bandcamp.com/track/my-path (mainstream radio song?): http://caynug.bandcamp.com/track/whats-left Album art: I tune my biggest string to A#0 on the song "overcome", that combined with the clean vox is an interesting combination in my ears  I would love to hear what you guys think! Thank you alot for your time.
I guess that's quite subjective. The average person probably wouldn't notice a huge difference.
maybe an average person wouldn't notice the difference but it's absolutely not subjective [editline]28th December 2013[/editline] for instance if an E chord sustains for 10 seconds on guitar A and 20 seconds on guitar B then guitar B objectively sounds different
I have my explorer hanging on the wall for days at a time without playing it and even with the temperature changes in this place it holds tune amazingly.
Mine's super drop tuned and it's the 'special' model, i'd imagine an epi explorer would be better in just about every way

i wish my guitar had 20 second sustain

I've realised I've been using the same guitar cable for nearly 2 years and I don't even know where I got it from (it looks really fucking old and beat up now). I've been looking into making my own cables. My friend's dad works with electronics and he makes everything himself. It seem simple enough (and cheaper which is my main concern). Has anyone got any experience with home made cables?
guitar cables are literally 5€
Started getting fret buzz on 10th fret of top E string on my acoustic, kinda surfaced out of nowhere. It was fine previously. I did that little test (holding first and fifteenth frets and seeing if fret 7 touches the fretboard) and the seventh fret didn't touch - what should I try next? [editline]29th December 2013[/editline] Just noticed there's a veeeeerrryy slight buzz around frets 9 through 11 too, although my mind could be playing tricks on me because sometimes I play them and don't notice it [editline]29th December 2013[/editline] yahoo answers suggests heading to the store and getting a full setup, I fear that the guitar techs will judge me for bringing in a cheap guitar :v:
I got bored :v: also my new strat also has some fret buzz, I suppose it's normal. [editline]29th December 2013[/editline] also terrible timing there [editline]29th December 2013[/editline] also acoustic sim on cheap ass multi effects pedal is sort of nice!
Here have some of the distorted slap bass goodness: it's only the mixtest song, solos and walls of sound are in the other songs that I wont release so early
Reminds of Deftones a lot, Koi No Yokan album.
so I'm buying a Squier Bullet Strat. the only one left in the shop with HSS pickups was a black one. it was the last colour I wanted but I did want a humbucker so I can live with it. 22 frets would also have been better but since I don't really solo and I like playing rhythm more so that doesn't affect me much. the SSS one I tried in the shop a few months ago was actually surprisingly good, the body had a nice weight to it, it sounded good and properly strat like, the tuners held pretty well except when the trem was used but when I get mine I'll test it and see what happens and if the tuning slips then I'll rub a pencil in the nut slots for a bit of graphite.
