I saw it over the weekend. Was absolutely fucking incredible and I totally enjoyed every minute of it. You all need to go see it if you have it showing near you.
How was the score in your opinion? I'm hoping Mansell delivers again.
On that note,
Variety reports the scores for Black Swan and True Grit have been disqualified due to “the use of tracked themes or other pre-existing music.” In addition, The Fighter and The Kids Are All Right have also been taken out of competition as they are “diminished in impact by the predominant use of songs.” There are plenty of great scores from this year, but these were definite contenders. In fact, Black Swan would only be half as effective without Clint Mansell’s beautiful adaptation of Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s “Swan Lake.”
So no Oscar nomination for the soundtrack, son of a bitch :arghfist: :saddowns:
Wow. Looks crazy. Natalie Portman still gives me the creeps for some reason.

I'll wait for the news of "Natalie Portman Mila Kunis sex scene" before I decided on anything
your dream came true
watch the movie
as for the movie, i liked it. but it reminded me way too fucking much of Jacob's Ladder. except I think jacob's ladder was better. still, black swan is really good.
I'm honestly a fan of Mila Kunis.
One of the few actresses who I believe are attractive enough by their faces alone.
I'll go see it, I think. Looks interesting.
I saw this on the 17th. Brilliant film. Aronofsky has yet to let me down. He's my favorite filmmaker. Also, Matthew Libatique is a great cinematographer. His technique really shines in this movie.
Was not a movie i thought i'd be interested in honestly, but it was amazing.
I can't tell if it's a drama movie, a horror movie, or a romance movie, and that's exactly how a good film should be.
You know, I couldn't really identify the genre either, but according to a friend of mine, it's considered a psychological thriller. I also agree with you though. That is how a good film should be.
the poster reminds me of a Splicer :ohdear:
Any sex scene with Natalie Portman gets a thumbs-up in my book. Those soft moans and noises... mmm...
This movie is easily the best of 2010 in my opinion. You guys won't be disappointed.
Inception.

um
It looks awesome.
Finally got a chance to see it, and wow what an amazing movie.
Aronofsky knows how to make a movie that basically pounds your brain, the 2nd half is basically weird as shit and depressing.
Everyone needs to go see this.
I went into the movie expecting it to be good.
Half way through the movie, I was like "WTF IS WRONG WITH THIS MOVIE?!??!?!?"
I came out feeling like I was on drugs or something... thinking "HOLY SHIT THAT WAS GREAT!!!!!"
I watched the movie by myself like I usually do, and on my way home in my car alone, I kept on saying "HOLY SHIT THAT WAS GOOD" like really loud. I was planning on being intoxicated that night, and was going to pick a few beers on the way home, but after watching the movie I felt intoxicated enough by how great it was. Has to be nominated for the big prize, and I wouldn't be surprised if it wins it.
I HIGHLY recommend that you go out and see it.
The thing that helped me out in understanding the whole swan part was that I knew the story of "Swan Lake", where when I was a kid in my home country, an anime-like movie that was made in 1981 played on TV all the time. Nostalgia hit me upside the head when I heard the music in the movie -- the exact same music as the movie I saw.
I found it on Youtube by the way, here's part 1, I'll assume that you know how to get to the other parts.

Good. At least now I can rest easily because you marked me "dumb" for not being dumb, but for something that didn't have a rating, but "dumb" was the closest thing you could rate me to substitute for your expression of your dislike towards me.
Also, I'll take the "weird" part. I'll give back the "over enthusiastic" part, because I wrote what I wrote a few minutes after watching the movie, so the excitement was still overwhelming at the time.

PS: There needs to be a "mean" rating :frown:

Have a heart.
Just did a little bit of research, and found out that the 1931 Dracula movie's opening credits has a version of the music (Scène)

Very neat!!
Go away please you're really weird.
And considering this forum's population, that's saying alot.
This looks dark, scary dark.
I want to say horror/thriller?

I don't watch movies that aren't dark.
I loved The Wrestler, so I'll have to see this. Do you all recommend seeing it alone or with friends?
Well, that was certainly a mindfuck of a movie. I really liked it, my perception of the characters changed several times during the film which I guess was the intention. What was also nice is that the sexual content felt relevant to the film, really affirming how fucked up the whole shebang was. Natalie Portman also handled the whole thing extremely well, it was a riveting experience watching her transform from a prissy little girl to, well, the Black Swan. Mila Kunis and Vincent Cassel were great too. Kunis in particular, in my eyes at least, redeemed her annoying character from The Book of Eli with this.
The nail file stab made me feel sick

That just shocked me -- the whole skin pull thing made me cringe though.

Because it hasn't changed from this:

but does anybody else think it's really similar to Jacob's Ladder?
since you mentioned it, i do notice some similarities between them...obviously like the hallucinations the characters had
