The projects doesn't have anything to do with the forums. The members of the team just decided to post it on SA. But yes, SA is great. Reading people discussing about things they actually know anything about and seeing people being somewhat intelligent is awesome.

They still got a heafty amount of donations through SA to help with some of these projects
after getting used to the clean and nice layout of posts/ratings/display pictures here i can't stand other forum's layouts...

Fun motion and Ragdollsoft forums where the places i used to lurk.. they would flow with life, they are now both derelict forums floating in the darkness of the internet, with the only life crawling about being spambots and naive physics based games firesouls.
We will shrink to such a small community too, and eventually everything will be gone. You know that we think of the universe as a balloon right? First the big bang, then the big chill. We are in the big chill.
On my old account from 08, it was fantastic, there was the smartness sytem, and there was Jewdozer, Couragedog, iPope, all those guys and girls. All the different versions of the board.
I remember when i saw the first minecraft thread, or the first hot girls thread, i remember when GMod boards where really popular and alot of shit constantly happened. And i remember the times where i dwelled in the custom subforums, especially in the roleplaying forum. I remember when i made Vacation to Lol lands on the mspaint sub, its the largest thread i have ever made.
The truth is that things live and die. Facepunch wont last forever, nor will GMod, and GMod is close to death, its no longer cool, the only people there are naive 12 year olds.
But i promise guys, i will mourn the day when its only me and a few other people.

FP is the forum I use the most, even though I'm a lurker most of the time. FP has that certain charm, I used to just come here to download maps but now I lurk fast threads mostly and general game discussion.
Well, facepunch has no advertisement or anything like it. And that actually might be the better way, since it would probably bring attention to unpleasing guests, which the mods would have to deal with.

Facepunch has ads the same way SA does, have you ever spent time browsing as a guest? Once you log into SA most of the adds go away other than the user created ads or the 1 ad at the top

Facepunch is just so diverse and easy to use, the community isn't really confusing and they don't really alienate people based on anything besides posting quality.

I admire the massive amount of servers hosted by SA and the prestige their members get over other forums, but I don't care how good it is, I am not paying for a fucking forum. Ever. Period. Especially when I don't even know if I'll like it or not.

I joined sa and I gotta say, they have better ops and general posting (think some better than fp, most posts aren't 1 line posts)
Maybe people aren't online very much during the holidays because they are with their family

Facepunch is like SA's less mature but more spontaneous and active red headed step child. Yea, a lot of the posts are one-liners, but one of the nice things about this place is that responses are much more prompt.
