well, yeah, but it's not like I complained about me personally, to be honest it was so long ago that I really don't remember what I posted about other than I was upset that there was little to no tangible evidence of the mod's existence at that point
you gotta remember than insurgency was more or less vaporware to anyone who wasn't on the mod team for a couple years, that mod was hella frustrating when you had stuff like Garry's Mod releasing a new version almost every month
Mod sucked anyway so who cares now. My #1 most favorite thing that ever came of the mod though was this one forum poster who was like a Muslim Frenchman that always argued with the war nerds in their military debate forum (before they closed it); they would always accuse him of being some hippy liberal french surrender monkey and tried to ban him for trolling all the time just because he'd be sympathetic to some murdered Palestinians or something lol.
imagine that guy in highschool that was real greasy and scrawny who always talked about miniguns, tanks, and nukes. that is INSmod forums in microcosm form

I'm not playing devil's advocate. If you don't respect what the army is doing there's no reason for you to respect the soldiers doing it. Letting your sense of civic duty override ethics is stupid. I'm not saying all soldiers are evil bastards if what the army as a whole is doing is wrong, but any who participate are. Most Nazi soldiers were just fulfilling what they saw to be their civic duty to their fatherland and that doesn't make them evil, but shooting defenseless Jews is inexcusable even if you were ordered to.
Point I'm trying to get across is if you think what soldiers are doing is wrong, YOU DON'T HAVE TO RESPECT THEM JUST BECAUSE THEY'RE SOLDIERS FOR YOUR COUNTRY. While I don't really support the war in Iraq I don't think what the soldiers are doing there as a whole is wrong (except for instances like Haditha and Abu Ghraib), and I DO respect what soldiers do for use that doesn't mean I think people should be forced to pretend like everything they do is a-ok even if they disagree.
