Anyone of you have guide for assembling a Remington Nylon 66 aka All the worst ideas ever into one rifle?
I guess my Walmart is just shitty, then :v:
.223 is the same as 5.56x45, right?
.223 is the same as 5.56x45, right?
No.
There are small differences, but using the different types will most likely cause minor failures. It won't cause catastrophic failures, but you'll get some accurcy and feeding issues. As you always should is buy whatever ammo it says on your gun. If it says .223 buy .223, if it says 5.56x45 then you buy 5.56x45. Same deal with 7.62x51 and .308 win. They are interchangeable, but it's not recommended. Also, ANYONE know how to re-asseamble a fuckin' Nylon 66? I swear the devil himself made this rifle.
For all intents and purposes, yes. There are some testing requirements (standards) like waterproofing and a few other things, but other than that they are they same
We should make a thread for Faze and Prussle to fight in, so when they start fighting all we need to say is, 'take it to the thread boys'.
For all intents and purposes, yes. There are some testing requirements (standards) like waterproofing and a few other things, but other than that they are they same
Nope, they are different... slightly. The 5.56 has a thicker inside to the case.
different tapering/angling too..
Nope, both are at 23 degrees.

Prussel and faze are our own little tripfags in our miniature /k/
.223 and 5.56 are the same physical round, but 5.56 typically has higher chamber pressures.
No.
For all intensive purposes they are. You can load and shoot both rounds out of anything chambered in .223/5.56 NATO. Typically 5.56 runs at a slightly higher pressure, but it won't cause any major problems with AR type firearms. The only real problem you may run into is when loaded into a bolt action that has a high tolerance bore, in which the casing may get stuck. Accuracy really doesn't change when same bullet weights are used while being used in the appropriate rifling. Some people say that 5.56 is rougher on firearms designed for .223, but since most people buy AR's to shoot with its not an issue because pretty much all manufacturers build them for 5.56 specs.

I am thinking of getting a 10/22 ruger for my first firearm. My dad used to be a cop and says its a good starter weapon. Any ideas?
Should I be concerned that my 7.62x38mmR cartridges get stuck in my Nagant revolver's cylinder after firing? Last time I shot the thing I had to take the cylinder completely out, put the ramrod in the cartridge, and hit it with a piece of wood to get it to pop out. They're the right round. Bought it from here: http://www.rguns.net/ammo.shtml Third one down.

Yeah. Every round. Nothing wrong with the cylinder as far as I can tell, the bore is smooth, no issues, and the gun fired fine. Shot 6 rounds through it.
Yeah. Every round. Nothing wrong with the cylinder as far as I can tell, the bore is smooth, no issues, and the gun fired fine. Color one of the rounds with a black marker, if it is expanding and getting stuck it'll leave scrape marks where the case expanded. I'm thinking someone may have polished the cylinder chambers and it may have caused an over-bore somewhere in there that the case is expanding into and getting caught on.
Okay so I'm colouring the bullet itself, am I going to be looking in the barrel or cylinder for the markings?
Okay so I'm colouring the bullet itself, am I going to be looking in the barrel or cylinder for the markings?
Not the bullet, the brass. You're going to look for the scratch marks on the brass. Try switching to 32 H&R magnum, it's got similar ballistics to the 7.62x38R and cheaper. It doesn't seal but that just makes it like a standard revolver. Make sure you get jacketed rounds, otherwise you'll get lead fouling.

Just wanted to ask, has anybody had any experience with Classic Arms ? I want to get an SKS and I've seen a few mentions of this site on this thread and elsewhere. Their antiquated site doesn't really inspire confidence.

I know it's expanding. When I drop them in, they're a perfect fit, and to take them out after firing them I have to hit them with something hard with the ramrod. So I'm confused as to what this will accomplish. Also I thought you couldn't just plain up load .32 Magnums into an M1895 Nagant without a modification? They're an awesome supplier. Their prices are good, very fast packaging and shipping (I ordered my Mosin-Nagant and it was at my FFL Dealer in a little under two days), same for my M1895 Nagant Revolver. Haven't had an issue with them yet.

Okay so I need some help here guys. Next week I will have about $500 to spend on some new guns. POSSIBLY $1200 but that depends entirely on whether or not I can sell my airsoft gear and fish tank by then. I've narrowed my list down to 6 different firearms, but I can't decide. Help me out here. I'm looking at: $150 - Chinese T53 Mosin w/ Side-Folding Bayonet, chambered in 7.62x54 $400 - 91/30 Mosin Sniper w/ Original 3.5x PU Scope, chambered in 7.62x54 $380 - Saiga Short-Barrel Rifle, Chambered in .223 (Could this fire 5.56x45?) $500 - AK-MV Romanian AK-47 Variant, Semi Auto w/ Wood Furniture, Chambered in 7.62x39 $250 - Norico JW-2000 Coach Shotgun, Double Barrel. 12 Gauge $370 - Saiga 20" Barrel Sport Rifle, Chambered in 7.62x39

Although, I'm wondering how you found an SBR for 380$, wouldn't the tax stamp raise the price?
