Hot damn, a finnish dealer is selling almost brand new Accuracy International AW 338 Sniper Rifle complete with silencer, scope, Harris bipod and a laser sight. All of my want.
Aside from the Luger / Lahti L-35 / Husqvarna M/40 / Nambu / C96, what other 9mm recoil-operated pistols sans traditional moving slide are there? hipoints dont count

That is some fucked up gunsmithing right there. Who refinishes the INSIDE of a receiver!? But the guy posting on YouTube is not him, I think. Probably just a troll. The account has been closed.

If I were that kid I'd take him to court.

Man. I love my local FFL dealer, and I want to give him more business by buying his own stock, but he doesn't carry a lot of what I want and what he does carry is really expensive. I know he's gotta make money but hell. He's got a Ruger Mini-14 that I love the look of but he's asking for around $500 for it, and he's got a couple Saiga 7.62x39 rifles for around 5-6 hundred. I REALLY want to give him my business and not just do FFL Transfers through him, because I've got to imagine that's kind of insulting, having someone ONLY do FFL transfers through you, but I can get a Saiga 7.62x39 for $380 online. What should I do
-snip-
So, I'm having a couple of family friends visiting - almost all of them hunt a lot and are gun nuts in general, and as we have spoken about firearms the whole time they have convinced me to buy some .308 bolt action instead of a nugget. Looks like I'm going for a Sako or a Tikka (Prusse is probably going to praise T3 soon).
He's got a Ruger Mini-14 that I love the look of but he's asking for around $500 for it
Huh? I thought they were more expensive than that. At least, here in Italy they go for at least a thousand.
Tikka M65 or T3 Sako 75 or 85 GO WILD
Used Tikka M65 are priced nicely here, looking for a suitable one. Oh, and Remington 700 is also considerable. Fun fact: .308 is the most common caliber in Finland.
I heard from a friend you can carry a Desert Eagle with a CWL. They're only $1,000 around here; is it true? This area is turning into shit, everyone from Detroit is moving here and fucking everything up. Lets see them try to break into some of my shit with a .50 round in them.

For most people however that's way to big. You're better off with a small frame glock.
;35929236']I can handle it, but are you now allowed to carry it with a CWL?
You can probably open carry it without one but check your local laws before you go quoting me on that. Desert Eagles are really too big to actually conceal without having to wear a heavy jacket
Yeah I also want it for intimidation. People around here fuck with everyone and I'm tired of it. Just awhile ago my father had to fight a group of guys off with a box cutter because they were siphoning gas out of his car. My dad is a big guy too, I wonder what these guys reactions will be when they see a Desert Eagle on my me.
be a bro
I would but for the price of one gun from him I could get two from classic firearms and that's my dilemma. I live in America so it's probably not expensive for the same reason that it isn't imported [editline]12th May 2012[/editline]
Try to haggle or bargain with him.
See that's the thing I have no idea what they're worth (minus the russian shit) and I don't know what he pays for it. Plus I work retail and I hate people that haggle because I don't set our prices. Granted it's his shop so he probably sets them but I don't know if he'd appreciate it.

If you whip it out just to scare someone with it, and you aren't in immediate danger for your life, you're going to have a bad time with the cops and the DA.

If they pull out their own weapon you've got to be ready to kill on the spot. If I'm just as well armed as my opponent I'll take fight over flight in almost any situation, and I'd much rather do it with my Glock 22 than with a gun that shoots such an overpowered and heavy round. I can empty all 15 rounds in about the same amount of time it will take you to empty 2 or 3 due to the recoil of a 50 AE pistol. If you're going to get a Desert Eagle, get one in .357 or .44 Magnum at most, and avoid .440 Cor-bon and .50AE at all costs. You'll never survive if you have to shoot back with a .50AE. The only reason to get a handgun in such a large caliber is if the average self defense situation in your region involves a large bear.
;35929467']Yeah I also want it for intimidation. People around here fuck with everyone and I'm tired of it. Just awhile ago my father had to fight a group of guys off with a box cutter because they were siphoning gas out of his car. My dad is a big guy too, I wonder what these guys reactions will be when they see a Desert Eagle on my me.
Consider this: Do you really think a desert eagle is going to intimidate someone who has a gun? Now If I were a criminal and I saw you with a desert eagle, while I would be scared for the fact that you too have a gun, I wouldn't exactly high tail it out of there if I had a gun. While you may be able to get the first shot off accurately, in the amount of time it takes you to get one shot off I would have already fired 5 shots off accurately with a glock 9mm. Intimidation may work with some petty criminal, but if you're facing someone more experience you might as well squat down and kiss your ass goodbye. This isn't even factoring in if there were multiple assailants. If you're looking for something to conceal and carry with, get something that will not only disable someone but be able to be used quickly and accurately. 9mm hollow points up to .45 can do the job quite well, while being much more practical/cheaper to fire/easier to get follow up shots. All while being in a much smaller frame than a desert eagle. skip ahead to 0:44 and watch how quickly the cops was able to get back and return fire quickly and accurately. You could NEVER do that with a desert eagle.
Those prices seem about average.
I dunno about the ruger mini-14 but the saiga is overpriced. Even with the ffl and shipping I'm looking at 440 for a 7.62x39 saiga vs his 500-600

'Which one is more practical and easy to lug/carry around concealed?' I mean seriously be realistic now. If you're really truly dead set on 'I MUST CARRY BIG BOOLET GUN THAT GO BANG BANG' I think you'd do better with a Glock 20 with 15 rounds of 10mm firepower than 7 rounds of .50 Awkward Ego. But still that's huge over kill and as UncleJim keeps on stressing.
Besides, .50 is abit overkill for a self defence weapon.
.50 Awkward Ego
Made me chuckle.
I know you can theoretically make bullets out of pure or slightly alloyed copper, but would it be possible to melt down pennies and cast those into bullets? I'm getting into metal casting and I think it'd be cool to make my own bullets, but I don't have the resources to make lead bullets and jacket them. Plus I think it would be humorous to shoot money at stuff.
Destroying money is a federal, criminal offence in most countries. You'd have to get Canadian pennies (while they still exist) or the smallest form of currency from other nations and melt it down. That, and pennies aren't even pure copper anymore.
