Got me a Gew 98 from 1916 for $150. It's got some nasty splotches on the metal, I'm pretty sure the stock isn't original, and it appears the previous owner added some crappy sight on the front. Either way... Project Rifle, Junk Rifle, it's still my rifle.

That second last bullpup looks a lot like a Valmet m82

Prototype SA80?
Prototype SA80?
No, EM-2. The SA80 is a spiritual successor to that design, which fired .280 british.
Another nonfirearm, but I hope this'll make someone nostalgic :v: It's a vintage Crosman Powermaster 760 pump. It shoots regular BB's and .177 pellets pretty damn well. I believe it's a mid 70's model, since the bolt is brass (newer models were plastic), and the stock is synthetic (older models were wood) For a 40 year old gun that's been used and abused, it still works great I think. The rubber seal might have shrunk some, since it doesn't keep pressure for long. But 4 solid pumps and it can send a lead pellet with some force. I forgot how strong these things are, now there's a pellet-sized hole in my wall. I didn't think it would go through a cardboard box TWICE. Anyway, it's rusty, homebrew fixed and someone put white paint on the front sight, but I think she's purdy. Oh, and she was 13$ at an auction, with a box of Copperhead pellets. I might go see if I can knock some cans down tomorrow, to see how accurate she is.
Its a gun, not a boat, it doesnt get the female designation :v:
I know, but it's just a bad habit I picked up from my grandfather. He was in the navy during WWII and always referred to his guns as female.
guns, boats, and guitars all get female designations from me
Found a Steyr M.95 rifle in my barn, I'll post pictures soon.

Didn't know the find would be this exciting for you guys, because I know fuck all about guns. I do know however that it isn't in the best condition at all, also the pictures are just shy of shitty.

I'm going to have someone do a basic cleaning and tell me more about it. oh god don't hurt me [editline]20th May 2012[/editline]
What the fuck is up with you and finding guns in your fucking barn. If it's long as fuck, it's the latter. They aren't exactly rare but yours looks to be in good condition, and fuck, I'd love to find some rifles in my barn :( Also, he probably mistook you for that guy who found an Iver-Johnson (I think, anyway) revolver in his ceiling.

Though the rifle is not from his time in the US army.
It's the WW1 version, and my grandfather had it last, he went to Berlin when he was 14(lied about his age). Though the rifle is not from his time in the US army.
Well, all M95's were built prior and during WW1. They ceased production after the war. In 1937 many of them were cut down to carbine length and reissued to the army/police of Hungary and/or Austria (which country specifically, I'm not real sure, but I think both of them, I know both of them used them prior and during WW2 though). The full-length rifle in 8x56r (there should be an S stamped somewhere on the receiver, this means it was converted to the newer 8x56r post-WW1, if it doesn't have the S, DO NOT FIRE 8x56R IN THE RIFLE, it is chambered for the much lighter 8x50r which was used during WW1 and 8x56r will cause it to explode) is a bit rarer than the carbine version, but still only worth around $200 or so. Usually less. If it's still chambered in 8x50r and hasn't been rechambered (no S on the receiver), then add $100-$200 to the value.
The rifle is not long, and it has an H stamped on it, also "K.A.E" is stamped on the stock.
That second last bullpup looks a lot like a Valmet m82
Probably because it is an early model of it :v:
I wish I had a barn to find things in.
I wish I just had things I don't want to go out looking for them
Damn, there's a ton of barns where I am. Maybe i should go check them for guns
Damn, there's a ton of barns where I am. Maybe i should go check them for guns
they should probably belong to you first
They don't belong to anyone Well, technically they belong to whoever is going to build houses on the land. But there's a TON of abandoned farmsteads and buildings around. They've been empty for years because back before the housing bubble popped, a lot of builders and land developers bought up all the land around here. Now it's been sitting empty and abandoned for like 5 years, I already go by there a ton of times. Heck if anything, I'll see if the gun buyback program is still around here. You'd be surprised how little these people care about the buildings on their land. I asked one if I could salvage some scrap from a house that he owned, he told me he couldn't give me two shits if I set it on fire. They're gona bulldoze everything anyway.
The rifle is not long, and it has an H stamped on it, also "K.A.E" is stamped on the stock.
Probably was not modified from its original configuration after the war, which makes it worth a decent bit more than most M95's out there. I'm not sure what the K.A.E nor the H stand for, but I'll look into it. I believe the H designated that it was made in Budapest, but I'm probably wrong. Since it has no S on it, you'll have to source some 8x50r to fire it, which is extremely rare these days, assuming it's even safe to fire. It looks like it's in good condition considering it's over 90 years old. You say it's in bad condition, but it really looks no worse than any other military surplus rifle, especially considering its age. Most rifles in this condition are safe to fire, but I would get it checked out by a gunsmith regardless. Anyway, do you know how to operate it? Safety is on the left side of the bolt, the little flap thing that clicks into the bolt which locks it in place and stops it from firing and cycling. To cycle it, ensure that the safety is off, then simply pull the bolt straight back and forward again. To take the bolt out, push forward on the trigger with the bolt fully retracted. The bolt will slide out, though most likely the bolthead will twist into its closed position and you'll have to twist it back to get it back in. If this happens, grab the two knobs at the end of the bolt tightly, then pull forward while twisting it. Once it's in line with the extractor (the bar that one of the knobs will fit into that slightly overhangs over the face of the bolt), it's ready to be put back into the rifle. Push the trigger forward again and reinsert the bolt. The button in front of the trigger ejects the loaded en-bloc clip if you wish to reload a fresh one or just unload it. To load it, you need an en bloc clip (similar to an M1 Garand) loaded with 8x50r, push the entire thing into the magazine well with the bolt fully retracted until you hear a click. If you don't have any en bloc clips then you can only fire it one shot at a time, reloading after every shot. Most people who fire these weapons do this anyway simply to conserve the scarce ammunition. Everything else should be pretty obvious. You should be able to figure out how to take it apart the rest of the way, not including taking the bolt apart. The rest of the gun can be disassembled simply by removing a bunch of screws and the stock bands. Really simple. You should also check the bore of the rifle and see if anything is obstructing it and see if there's any rifling left. Rifling being the grooves in the barrel. I feel like I'm talking way too much about this. I just love M95's c:
Take him up on his word, set it on fire. See if he cares.

If you found a gun why would you want to get rid of it? I mean come on. Even if I found a gun I couldn't fire I'd clean it up, make it look nice, and hang it on my wall.
