Get the headspace checked first.
What do you mean?
What do you mean?
He means to do this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Headspace_(firearms) I wouldn't worry about it. .308 and 7.62x51 have the same dimensions, the difference is the military round shoots at a higher pressure. With an M1A I wouldn't worry about it, all of them are manufactured to meet and/or exceed GI standards.

[editline]22nd May 2012[/editline] As long as the round sits and cycles properly, I should be good to go to fire it, right? Little paranoid, I'd hate for it to blow up in my face.
Holy shit, I just talked to my dad and he said that he would like the get the hunting licence too. This means I could get me a gun this year with a parallel license if my dad gets a rifle! Also, Savage arms seems intresting, I read a review in a magazine that was pretty positive. Anything I should know about them?

I will say that it's probably not a good idea to use the ammo made for machine guns. Not that it will blow up in your face (the M1A has a pretty damn strong action) but it will increase wear and tear on your rifle.

From the few times I have handled one I can say, in my opinion, it is one hell of a trigger.

Anything I should know about them?
savage arms stuff is pretty nice. I like their 10 FCM Scout. it's a .308 Winchester bolt action with a detachable box magazine. Has ghost ring sights if you want to use those or you can attach a scope They're a little pricy though, last I checked they were going somewhere in the neighborhood of $650-700 [editline]22nd May 2012[/editline] and yes it has the accutrigger

Savage Stevens 200 and Weather warrior seem to be nice as well.
Hold the fucking phone. This seems neat.
Plastic stock. Trigger has too many parts. Rail for optics mounting is supported/fastened to the barrel. 0/10 would not shoot. [editline]23rd May 2012[/editline]
Savage Stevens 200 and Weather warrior seem to be nice as well.
You are from Norway, right? If you are going to hunt, and don't know what rifle to get, get a Mauser in either 6.5, .308 or .30-06. (That's the cheapest you can go here in the mountains and fjords and gunsmiths won't cringe when you tel them what rifle you have) Use that for a year, and then decide what you want. A classmate of mine built himself a really awesome rifle on a Ragnar Hansen remington-style reciever in 6.5, custom fitted stock, nice scope and all. Now he wants to sell it. But the problem is that the rifle is worth close to 60 000 NOK :v: (about 10k USD)
Ahh, close. He should get a nugget then :v:
Plastic stock. Trigger has too many parts.
It's always Prussel or Faze, although I haven't seen any dumb posts from Faze in quite a while now.
faze has (had?) a tendency to clutter up the odd page or two with depressingly inane questions and then arguing with The Prussel for an hour and instead could have avoided wasting everyone's time and have his questions answered in 10 second Google search and a bit of critical thinking. On subject of firearms. Got to tinker with one of these.
I've seen some CZ-75 models, but not that one, is it custom made?
lighter than wood and in most cases just as durable it works the same as any other trigger, but it's smoother to pull it's a scout rifle 10/10 would shoot
I really don't like that rail, I'd rather have it on top of the reciever, welded for added stiffness to the reciever, then have an adjustable cheekpiece.

2tone
I love moss green frames but it really doesn't work on that gun
I've seen some CZ-75 models, but not that one, is it custom made?
It's one of CZ's newer handguns the P-07 Duty. It's a very neat pistol. There are some things on it that's pretty awesome like the trigger guard and Glock style sights (which I LOVE). I am absolutely mystified as to why more US manufacture's aren't picking up on that style of trigger guard. It just feels so much better.
3+3 screws > welding (and receiver mounted rails are not really scout rails??) and it's just a p07 duty, not a custom one
I want barrels to be free and clean. As for the pistol, to me the new handguns that come out are really just "Take design A, give cool-sounding name and caliber B and say it's a new gun"
the rails on those things are extremely stable I don't know what you're smoking
They might be, but I still prefer less stuff mounted on the barrels. I think of mounting things on the barrel and analsex the same way, I might try it, but I know it isn't supposed to be that way. As far as I've gathered, they are decent rifles, they get the job done, a little pricy. But still don't like it mounting on the barrel. Well, this is more of a chamber mount. I'd personally never get a Blaser rifle, as I don't see how I need one. Also, the magazine/trigger(trigger mounted on the magazine, making detachable and nigh-impossible to fire without a magazine) solution on some of them is bitch if you forget your magazines(s), whereas most other rifles, you can just drop the round into the chamber and still fire off a shot.
What's your opinion on Blaser rifles, then? [editline]23rd May 2012[/editline] And since someone's gonna ask..
This rifle looks really uncomfortable to shoot but i've shot it before, they're really comfortable to shoot. Don't know if it was the exact caliber as that one but it didn't have to much kick
Unlike you all, I'm keeping my nugget in its original format. No scopes, no pouches, nuthin. Maybe a Bayonet but even then.
Unlike you all, I'm keeping my nugget in its original format. No scopes, no pouches, nuthin. Maybe a Bayonet but even then.
Adding a bayonet would be it's original form. I prefer my older weapons "vanilla" as well.
I personally prefer to have a simple low-power fixed zoom scope on my rifles. Handguns and shotguns usually get tritium sights, shotguns might get a full or super full choke. Certain rifles (the Winchester 1894 and the Remington 700 out of my collection) get variable scopes, the 1894 is has a cheap 4-9x40 and the 700 has a 6-25x56 Millett
Oh God dat Millett, with the stupid screw-on shit that goes on the front of it, it's almost longer than the Henry mini-bolt we have at the store.
Oh God dat Millett, with the stupid screw-on shit that goes on the front of it, it's almost longer than the Henry mini-bolt we have at the store.
there are a few models of it, mine doesn't have the big screw on thing [editline]22nd May 2012[/editline] or maybe it did I got it second hand. previous owner might have been a moron
Ive heard that 5.45x39 cant go into drum magazines? Why?
It looks completely retarded with it on IMO. Shit's like 3 feet long or something with the shroud, and it serves little purpose.
