Revolvers? Simple? Ok..
Mechanically speaking it's very simple. Not to mention it's a double action that you're posting here. Single actions are the most simple single barreled repeating weapon around.
Sure they can, they can get out of time [editline]24th May 2012[/editline] To be fair, there are very small semi-auto pistols as well
Yeah that's true but IMO that thing is ugly as fuck. Revolver just have their thing about them. An air. They're the Veteran of the War that must be respected and the Semi Auto pistols are the upstart grandchildren of the Revolver. You gotta respect Revolvers.

Guess what I found in the old gun safe this morning: Nugget Bayonet Yes!
Let's not forget revolvers have a more natural point of aim.
Simpler, somewhat more reliable (arguably, because they still have timing issues), more badass :v: Really these days the only practical advantage of them is that they can be chambered in larger calibers and cartridge lengths than semi-auto handguns. Other than that they are less useful in pretty much every way.
not really, if you suffer a cartridge malfunction with a revolver you simply pull the trigger again, with a semi-auto you have to clear the round first.
And if you really have to get up close and personal, the slide could get caught on their clothes, not allowing you to fire again. Revolvers don't have that problem.
Also you can't play Russian Roulette with a Semi-Automatic. [editline]24th May 2012[/editline] Well you could but it's probably a really bad idea

So, went to the range today to finally get around to shooting my Stevens 820B For some reason, I could only load two rounds in before it got stuck, it absolutely perplexed me until I went home and disassembled the tube chamber, to see if there was something wrong with the spring. Turns out between the spring and end cap, there was a wooden rod filling up the whole tube pretty much. Oh the joys of preowned guns, probably a bigger surprise than the jellybeans in the glock

Most states have a 3 round limit on shotguns when you take them out hunting. The law makes no sense but then again there aren't very many that do. Still fucking bubba as all hell.
Still fucking bubba as all hell.
Actually my Mossberg 500 came new in the box with a wood dowel in the mag tube :v:
a lot of shotguns come with plugs
apparently it handles really well too shame, you don't see many around in the US... it's a truly british pistol though.
Managed to snag one up not too long ago. I love it, and yes, it handles very well.
$50 good deal?
Fernandez, Mexico, I like weapons with a bit of history. Know anything about it's origins or use?
Please ignore the patronisation. I posted this on another forum first and didn't want to have to edit it for you guys. Okay. So today I shot a bullet prof vest insert. It is an Australian Army issue left side neck guard to protect against pistol bullets and low velocity rifle rounds (low velocity due to long flight time or ricochet). [IMG_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/Y2dvF.jpg[/IMG_thumb] [IMG_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/FZTzv.jpg[/IMG_thumb] First I got my .22 rifle. Shot from about 10 meters away it periced only the first two layers of Kevlar inside the insert and got stuck until I got home and opened it up. [IMG_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/PiFMi.jpg[/IMG_thumb] Then I got my Glock 35 cambered in 9mm and shot it from 2 meters away. This didn't even pierce the first layer of kevlar, but the insert that was lying on a piece of wood jumped 10 meters into the air and landed next to me. The round inside fell out with ease. [IMG_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/1ODV2h.jpg[/IMG_thumb] [IMG_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/1gAWL.jpg[/IMG_thumb] [IMG_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/VAzRD.jpg[/IMG_thumb] Next I got out the big guns. My Mosin Nagant M44. At 2 meters the insert didn't stand a chance, and it didn't even move when I shot it. [IMG_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/3NG9V.jpg[/IMG_thumb] That is the exit wound and you can see the entry near the .22 entrance on the picture above. When I got home I pulled the thing apart. [IMG_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/rfbRw.jpg[/IMG_thumb] I think I would wear this with comfort knowing what it does. [IMG_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/qdyPW.jpg[/IMG_thumb]
I have a level 3A vest at home, it's a big clunky thing with a neck guard. I also have a concealed vest that has duel use, so it's stab and bullet proof to a degree. I got all my stuff from here: http://www.bodyarmour.ie
a lot of shotguns come with plugs
I just didn't expect it in a 60 year old shotgun. I just hope they didn't do that because the spring was weak
Ooh, I just spotted a new Savage model 10 with AccuTrigger and Simmons scope for 895€. Not bad at all. It has a wood stock tough, but I can always get a synthetic replacement. [editline]27th May 2012[/editline] Ah, I found a normal model too
Went shooting with my grandpa and uncle yesterday. Fired mostly a S&W 686 and a Glock 17, but there was also an AR-15 and a Ruger Mk.III. That 686 definitely made me want something in .357 magnum.
.357 Magnum's out of a medium/large framed revolver are so many levels of Fun to shoot. Except for the M&P compact 357's. They're [del]different[/del] horrifying.
How are the Ruger Blackhawk revolvers? I love single-action only revolvers.
I've shot the .44 Mag with 5" barrel, it's really fun, takes some getting used though for me atleast. I like to think that they are good revolvers as my teacher who usually despises Ruger actually owns two Ruger Blackhawks (iirc) one in .44 Mag with the 5" barrel and another one in .357 Mag with a 10" barrel
Alright, it's down to a Ruger Blackhawk and a S&W 686. It all depends on whether or not I can get a hold of $200 extra to get the 686 over the Blackhawk.
Something I would love to see: A mosin-esque revolver rifle chambered in 7.62x54
Blackhawks are just fun. Though I'd prefer a semi or a DA revolver for defense blah blah blah They're awesome. [editline]26th May 2012[/editline]
Something I would love to see: A mosin-esque revolver rifle chambered in 7.62x54
There's SL revolvers chambered in .450 Marlin.
Ok turns out my grandpa just bought a 686 and my dad didn't tell me that he inherited a Blackhawk from his dad, so I'm well covered in the world of .357mag. I guess I'll turn my pursuits elsewhere.
