WASRs are kits assembled by Century.
Arma Rifle and Cartridge in Parker, CO makes new AKs with very smooth actions. If I were to buy an AK, I'd go through them.
Not entirely, most parts are imported, others are machined by Century's [del]underpaid alcoholic monkeys[/del] eployees and then [del]smashed together somehow[/del] assembled with the imported ones.
Apparently their QC has gotten better lately (see the WASR-10 vs the WASR-10/63) but it's still best not to trust them that much.
What about Romanian WASR-10 rifles that are actually imported from Romania?
What is done to them?

there aren't any. those are all PM md. 63s
WASRs are export only.

with WASRs you either get trigger slap or canted front sight and gas tube

those aren't WASRs
They used to say "WASR-10" on the old website.
The hell are they then, if not WASR rifles?
[editline]6th June 2012[/editline]
Here this is a WASR-10 and it's manufactured in Cugir.

romanian AK-47s
WASRs are AKMs
I thought AKM's fired 5.45x39 rounds?
the WASR-10 and -3 are both bastards. They're still AKMs in every way except for what round they fire.
Century anally buttrapes the WASRs

AK-47 and AKM and variants all fire the 7.62
Does Arsenal make an aks-74u clone?
So then what are done to those Romanian AK rifles when they're imported? Anything?
Also what goes into making a Saiga rifle 922whatever compliant? For the ones that look like AK-47s

any gunsmith can do it for you
I'm not asking so I can do it myself I want to know what they do to imported AK-47 rifles, if anything, and what they do to make Saiga rifles from the hunting style to the evil babykiller rifles.

If I remember correctly they move the trigger guard/group thing forwards to allow room for the pistol grip, it changes things internally not by much and its much better and it no longer means you're a terrible person.
And the reason why you shouldn't buy Century AK's is because they're a mish mash of surplus and shitty pot-metal parts and tapco fucked.
I know why not to buy Century AK rifles I was just making sure the ones I was looking at buying weren't Century.
I know they're IMPORTED by Century. Which is why I'm asking what they do to IMPORTED rifles, if anything.
I'd like to get an answer on that. So I know if they do anything to imported AK-47 style rifles before they can be sold to the public.

Typically if it's a rifle it probably has a certain number of American parts to conform to US importation laws. I think you need a minimum of 5, and things like a pistol grip and foregrip count towards that.
I think a magazine will even count as 3 parts, so it's not hard to comply to that.

The mag doesn't, but little shit does like sights and firing pins do. The laws fucking stupid.

What is this blasphemy?
[QUOTE=DEMONSKUL;36238287]What is this blasphemy?[/QUOTE]
Probably weapons confiscated/taken off bodies of Taliban. Captured weapons like that are usually destroyed. So basically it's a pile of history being destroyed.
WHY god damn it.
The government is stupid as fuck. Instead of DESTROYING confiscated weapons, reconfigure them to be semi automatic only and sell them to the American People.
They could be making so much money selling those firearms at warehouse style pricing since they put almost no money into them.
Why the fuck don't they do that.
Not only does it create jobs for gunsmiths to refurbish/reconfigure guns, but it also allows for materials to not be wasted.
