Side-mounted scopes as Mikhail intended. You mount that shit on the receiver, because the dust cover goes all WOBBLE WOBBLE WOBBLE with each shot, fucking up your zero.
Or a gas-tube rail if your name is Bubba.
The only non-retarded dustcover mount is that hinged one, but I can't seem to find it anymore.

Those hinges reduce a lot of wobble, plus you can pretend it's an RPD every time you open it to strip it.
Sweet.
it's barnaul manufactured ammo, it works fine?
That is all I shoot out of my AK. Never had an issue. Shot the same brand from my Mosin, no issue either.
watch the fuck out, a dumbass is talking to a dumbass
I just couldn't resist
Are you two about to argue about something you agree on?
Why does everything in this fucking thread have to turn into an argument?
uhm.. what?
are you asking about that specific offer or the ammo?
"bear" ammo is just rebranded barnaul made stuff for the murrica market
lolwhat, he's asking if anyone bought it!
[editline]21st June 2012[/editline]
They're not arguing, they're just confused as to what they're saying to each other :v:
I think he thought you were responding to a different question or that you thought he was asking a different question.
Thus, mass confusion.

I might be a tad bit late about the .22 discussion. I have taken shooting lessons with a champion marksman and an Ex-Marine (Korean War veteran) and they both said that the .22 is the most important round to learn with because it teaches you all of the fundamentals of shooting. The ex-Marine even said that the .22lr is one of the most difficult rounds to shoot because off its size and how if you can learn to shoot a .22lr very well at long ranges then you can most likely shoot any other caliber without a problem.
I wasn't aware that people actually did shooting classes. I never thought of it as something that could be taught other than basic weapons handling that could be covered in a 30 minute course
So guys should I buy an older Chinese SKS for $425 that comes with a spam can of ammo or should I buy a new 22lr Lever action for $325?
not really

If you value milsurp, get the SKS now since the price is going inevitably rise in the coming years. 425$ isn't that bad of a price with a spam can tossed in.
pretty typical for a norinco
Pretty cheap compared to Australia. Even if you can get the right licence, you'll still be looking at AUS$1200+ for an SKS
Not sure what optic I'm going to put on the shotgun just yet...maybe an AA model EOTech.

I prefer revolvers over other hand guns for some reason.
Anyone know why? I'm a lefty.

Get the most tacticool sight you can. Don't let anyone convince you otherwise.

I tend to find that revolvers are more comfortable to shoot, mostly because the weight. Maybe it's because i have a bigger build

I'm also really tiny, as in 6'1 and only 130 pounds.
I think it might be I just really like revolvers, they kind of feel more like something I'd like to use if I even needed to protect myself.
speaking of revolvers, I'm thinking of getting an S&W 610. anyone have any experience with them?
I like the idea of being able to use the same ammo I use for my Glock if I run out of .10mm Auto, which I'm sure I'll do pretty often considering how hard it is to find it here
If you show her how to hold it properly before firing, she won't get kicked around. Don't just throw the rifle at her and tell her to pull the trigger without teaching her how to hold it. The Mosin Nagant's recoil isn't nearly as bad as you're all making it out to be.
This is also pretty much the cause of all those videos on youtube of first time shooters hurting themselves with high-powered rifles and shotguns, because they have just been handed a powerful weapon and been told to pull the trigger while on camera.
I even have an example of this myself: The first time I got the opportunity to fire a 12 gauge shotgun, I was basically just handed the shotgun and told to fire it at some trees.
I didin't know anything about the trigger sensitivity of over-under hunting shotguns, so I just fired the two rounds in rapid succesion by mistake, with poor control of the weapon, as I had only shot a .22lr lying down and an air rifle standing before.
With just 5 minutes of instruction, I could have handled the weapon somewhat properly, but because I recieved none, I just blew off some branches by mistake.

If your eyes are bad, an optic could be a good choice, and if you intend on using slugs, it ain't so bad either. Or if you just generally don't like the iron sights.

I'd take optics over iron sights on any weapon, shotguns included.
I had a terrible dream last night where I was in Iran and had an M16A4 that kept malfunctioning. Some terrorists raided my base, and all of them were dual-wielding M2 machine guns. Every time I went to shoot them, the shell casing shot out the barrel and the bullet was ejected. I took out the mag to find that the rounds were loaded in backwards, so I changed mags. This new one kept stovepiping after every other shot. Eventually the terrorists made it to me, but they felt so bad that my gun wasn't working they sat down and helped me fix it.
An Aimpoint T1 sure would look good on it.
Yeah, and would be nice and low. But it's a pretty small area to be looking through. I like the EOTechs because of their big viewing window. Makes it easy to find and use the reticle quickly.
Never understood optics on shotguns...
Same reason you put optics on anything else.
It's not like shotguns aren't accurate (if you've shot trap as much as I have you'd know what I mean)
