That law prevents heat of the moment murders.
Your right but in a way it's just plain stupid, just think about it
Your right but in a way it's just plain stupid, just think about it
No, it isn't stupid at all.
If I really wanted to kill someone I wouldn't go out and buy a gun. I'd just stab them or beat them or strangle them or something.
If I really wanted to kill someone I wouldn't go out and buy a gun. I'd just stab them or beat them or strangle them or something.
That's you.
Why would you spend hundreds on a gun instead of ten bucks on a knife that'l kill them all the same?
I would agree on the waiting period for first guns of that type. So if it's your first pistol you need to wait, but if it's your second or more you don't. Same goes with rifles, divided into manually operated and semi-auto, And I guess shotguns as well.
Technically we don't have this in Australia, but in practice they usually waive the 30 day waiting period if you already own a firearm in the category of your new one. I can't be sure on all state, just SA
My neighbor stabbed his wife to death then sat on the porch with a pistol waiting for the police to arrive. Then he surrendered immediately. It's almost like people are irrational.

What the fuck? Seriously? That sucks.
No, it isn't stupid at all.
"Cool off" laws are retarded. If someone is irrational enough to consider murder, they're probably still going to be irrational enough to consider murder 7 days later.
"Cool off" laws are retarded. If someone is irrational enough to consider murder, they're probably still going to be irrational enough to consider murder 7 days later.
Exactly, I couldn't have said it any better.
if I was buying a gun to kill someone I would certainly be even MORE pissed off if I couldn't get it until 7 days
probably just end up stabbing the guy but its OK i didn't buy a gun to do it!!!
I hate the law where you have to wait 7 days after you purchase your gun to get it.
I get to wait 14 days....
3 days here in Fuckaduck land.
AKA Illinois
3 days on handguns, 1 day on long guns
~50 just to get the FOID to start buying guns
ILLINOIS
I can walk into any wal-mart, academy, pawn shop, or gun store and walk out with with every gun they have in stock in 20 minutes if I wanted to. There's no wait period here.
So I have decided to go for a Lee Enfield recently and I just have a couple of questions. (also keep in mind that my budget is roughly $450 but I wouldn't mind going over if I really had to)
1) I know there are a lot of models but which one is the most accurate and reliable?
2) Which brands should I avoid?
3) Which website is the best for getting a Lee Enfield.
4) Which ammunition should I avoid?
hell, if I get a CCW then they don't even have to do a background check or anything. I just show them my permit and can walk out with an arsenal in 5 minutes
Got my cheek riser for the M1A in the mail today. I'm gonna hold off on a car for now. Wait for a better paying job.
That frees up funds for a scope :)

Hey, do you guys have any suggestions along the lines of cheap carbines?
I love the Sub-2000, but nobody fucking has them, and I wouldn't mind getting the Hi-Point 995 if it weren't for the fact that it's fucking hideous. I'd love something small and versatile like those two, but I can't seem to find anything.
Got my 700 round spam can of 7.62x39 today. Brings my stock up to about 1500 rounds. Good times.
Kind of annoyed that UPS left it by my garage. The box was not discreet at all... Quite obviously was ammo.

I live in Arizona, where it gets an upwards of 120+ F in the daytime in the shade.
They did the exact same thing with my can of 7.62x54r, except instead of the garage they left it on my FUCKING DOORSTEP.
They need to amend their policy on ammunition, because someone could have easily just walked up to my front door and been on their way with a brand new can of ammunition.

ATI stock for the Hi Point

I saw that, and it looks quite a bit better than the original stock, but there's something I can't quite get past, and I'm not sure what.
I guess if you guys could toss out a few more names and brands I can get comparing, because the Hi-Point and the Kel-Tec are the only two I know of.

Well I've got a SMLE MkIII, and it's cheaper than a No.4. Its fairly accurate and reliable, and I prefer the sights on the SMLE over the No.4. For ammunition, whatever you do, do not ever even think about getting Indian or Paki surplus .303 within 5 feet of the SMLE. It's also a good idea to get into reloading for the enfield, because of the expensive commercial ammunition. For brands, I would probably avoid the Indian enfields, but then again I don't really know how bad they would be.
Hell, they could be pretty good. I've seen one, havent shot one, but I didnt like the wood at all, it was basically completely black. Dunno where you live, but I would, and did go for a Lithgow if you want a No.1.
I fucking love the bulldog look of the No.1.
Shitty images of my SMLE.

And a very rough and shitty picture of the sights but you get the idea.

Beretta CX4
Holy BALLS the USC is expensive.
So is the ATI 94, goddamn!
Looks like the maker of the 94 stopped shipping them, and never sent the magazines and parts that ATI ordered back in 09....I'd say it's dead.
Beretta CX4
Wow, so I can get a nice little $250-300 carbine that looks exactly like a $900 gun :v:
Noice!

You can buy MP5 and UMP parts kits to build a semi-auto look alike. But you need a receiver to build them off, like these. Not cheap though, and you'd have to register them as a SBR
and you'd have to register them as a SBR
Unless you build them into a pistol or a carbine.
Unless you build them into a pistol or a carbine.
But that would be lame
